This should be a lesson to all recruiters, especially those hiring remote workers. Always ensure you have their details, including next of kin, just in case something like this happens. You should also prepare a well written contract with agreement of a one month notice before termination. I'll advise the OP to look for another employee. Perhaps, she's moved on or in worse case scenario, something has happened to her. Whichever the case, your business needs to continue. So hire someonelse, and in case she returns, let her know you've moved on. It's not your fault. |

The Super Eagles came out with a plan to win the game, no doubt. However, not all the players were on board with the plan. Dele-Bashiru, for one, didn't perform his role as a player maker, as expected. He didn't bring the intensity Boniface was working and hoping for, probably because he wasn't fit for this game. Starting from the defence, I think the coach should've stocked with a three man defence. The Super Eagles seem to play more comfortable with that tactics. Ekong was glittery and disappointing, again, just like the game against Benin; he should work on his confidence level. Osho, being new to the team, was quite impressive, but also needs to work on his positioning (he was displaced a number of times). Bruno, is not great at going forward, he should probably stick with remaining at the back to defend. Osayi was impressive in the first half, but suddenly ghosted out few minutes into the second half. Removing Yusuf eliminated creativity in the midfield and our forwards had to pay for it. Onyedika was everly agile but lacked going forward, and Onyeka contributed nothing following his introduction. Chukwueze (whom I felt should've started) brought spake to the attack, something that Iheanacho isn't great at. Boniface, was, once again, unfortunate and too desperate to score his first goal. As a result, he missed some really good chances. But his playmaking was overall impressive, better luck to him next time. Simon did all he could with his impressive crosses but the defence was too compact for him to get into the box. Oshimhen and Sadiq were introduced too late in the game and as a result had nothing to offer. Overall, I'd confess that the team missed the creativity, speed and goal scoring ability of Lookman; he probably would've had a goal or two, considering the fact that the defence wasn't too super. I left the goalkeeping for last because my analysis may cause some disagreement. Nonetheless, we can all see that Nwabali should remain our first choice and those calling for Okoye would be having a rethink. A goalkeeper's job isn't just to catch the ball. Among other important roles, the goalie should be the leader of his defense; he must learn how to organise them during set pieces— a job Okoye failed at, probably because he's young and is shy of dishing out instructions to his teammates. Nwabali would've done that to prevent the first goal. I wouldn't totally blame the first goal on Okoye, but he's responsible for the second; poor goalkeeping from him. Overall, I'll rate their performance 4/10. They should work and improve on this before the world cup qualifiers against this same opponent in March. |

It's always interesting to hear about the challenges and successes that come with starting a new job in a different country. If you're a Nigerian who has 'japa-ed' to the UK and landed your first job, we want to hear from you! Share your story, ask questions, and connect with others who have had similar experiences. To kick things off, I'll share a bit about my own first job experience after migrating to the UK. I moved to London two years ago and was fortunate enough to land a job as a marketing executive at a tech company. It was a big adjustment, not only because of the cultural differences but also because the work environment was so different from what I was used to back home. I had to learn new systems, adapt to a new corporate culture, and navigate office politics that were completely foreign to me. But despite the challenges, I found that my Nigerian work ethic and determination served me well. I was able to quickly prove my worth and earn the respect of my colleagues. I also made a conscious effort to network and build relationships with others in the industry, which helped me to advance in my career much faster than I had anticipated. Of course, there were moments of doubt and frustration along the way. I sometimes felt like I.... Real Madrid finally have a specific date in mind for the full opening of their renovated Santiago Bernabeu stadium Los Blancos played during much of the pandemic at their Valdebebas training ground stadium the Alfredo di Stefano. Barely a few days before their preseason tour, Chelsea coach Mauricio Pochettino has made a decision to exclude five Chelsea first team players from the club’s pre-season activities as he aims to streamline the squad.
