Who wears the crown?
Federal University Oye Ekiti is tensed up the moment. Federal University Oye Ekiti Student Union elections are coming up on the 17th of August and different comrades have risen to take up the mantle of leadership. Two giants are contesting for the post of president. They are both men of worth and strength.
Who do we go for?
The first man is FASAKIN TAIWO aka EMERALD. Emerald is a 400 level student of Mechatronics Engineering. He is at the moment working on his Industrial Training (I.T) and it is surprising that he has time to campaign and canvass for votes. This is to show that he knows important people in the management who will surely influence him if he comes into power. He is also god fathered by Com. Bomfrey, the general secretary of SRC. Bomfrey is the nephew of the registrar and he was used as a force to try to stop the instatement of the SUG.
Emerald has never checked on the welfare of students in Oye campus but he is now seen on the streets of Oye doing communal work. Today, he was sighted washing clothes and sweeping the streets of Oye just as leaders at the top do before they get into power. After the elections, they refuse to fulfil their promises. Emerald is also a man with good grades as he has a CGPA higher than 3.0.
His opponent on the other hand is Alabi Johnson Sunday aka REXPECT. As his alias suggests, he is a man of respect, valour and integrity. He is just the person we need to represent the students voice to the management and beyond. As a 200 level student of the department of Mechanical Engineering, he knows exactly how the students feel and he will stand to fight for our rights. It should be noted that Rexpect has from the beginning supported the agitation for FUOYESU. He partook in everything that led to the management granting our pleas for SUG including the June 12 protest and the the protest for the reinstatement of the DSA.
We need a solid person who can not be easily manipulated by the management. It should also be noted that the management is solidly against FUOYESU and since they can't prevent it, they will try to dominate it.
This is the first time that FUOYE will stand on her own to decide her representatives. The August elections will be a pacesetter for elections to come. The choice is yours.

Our DSA has been dismissed for entirely no reason to be replaced by a Dr Malomo. This said man has exploited the students of the department of Chemistry, Faculty of Sciences(100level) of over #1 million.
Such a man can not serve as our Dean. He does can not be our voice.

The Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, invites all candidates who have applied for admission into the institution for National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes for the 2016/2017 Session to submit on-line, the following documents for screening:
1. Ordinary Level Results (for ND and HND Applicants)
2. National Diploma Certificates (for HND Applicants)
iii. Citizenship Certificates (for Kwara indigenes)
Candidates should fill and submit on-line, the Security Screening Form with recent Passport photograph.
The sum of N2,500.00 is to be paid for the screening exercise inclusive of Bank Charges.
Registration for the screening commences on Monday, 8th August, 2016 and ends on Monday, 22nd August, 2016.
ELIGIBILITY
For JAMB Applicants, Candidates must have chosen Kwara State Polytechnic and scored a minimum of 180 marks in the 2016 UTME.
For ND and HND (Regular & Part-Time) applicants, the Candidates must have purchased Kwara State Polytechnic Admission Forms as earlier advertised in The Herald Newspaper of 29th April, 2016 and The Punch Newspaper of 29th April, 2016.
NOTE
(I) Any applicant who attempt to register for the screening exercise without choosing the Kwara State Polytechnic and scored less than 180 in the 2016 UTME does so at his or her own risk.
(II) The Portal closes on 22nd August, 2016 at 11.59pm and no further payment or registration can be done after that date.
(II) All candidates seeking for admission into the Polytechnic must undergo the screening process without which they will not be eligible to be considered for admission.
All Applicants are to visit the Polytechnic’s website www.kwarastatepolytechnic.edu.ng for further information and guidelines, Registration for the screening commences on Monday, 8th August, 2016 and ends Monday, 22nd August, 2016.
