lawani: I am yet to understand how the currency used in buying feedstock affects any company to make them sell to marketers in dollars Most breweries in the country import all or most of their feedstock and they don't sell to marketers in dollars Most steel mills do the same. All car assemblers do the same Pharmaceutical companies do thesame In China, India, USA etc it is the same way for many manufacturers.
Even Dangote cement do import spare parts with dollars and they pay some staff in dollars The difference in what you have noted here is that all these companies import their raw materials from abroad. Dangote buys Crude in Nigeria from NNPC in dollars which makes zero sense. it is up to NNPC to change to naira denominated transaction before expecting a private citizen to do the same |

U09ce: I don't believe this stat. Why are most of the numbers round figures with exception of two? What's the source of their data? Lagos and Kano being the most popular states in Nigeria can't have 500k homeless each. You most find homeless people in the cities not villages.
By the way, I don't like the way Nigeria handles its demographic data. There's so much exaggerated information out there. And many other underreported. Some people just cook up data to get funding and then corner the monies without addressing any gaps. So the people still living in IDP camps in various parts of the north as well as Abuja are what? Please clarify us |

No, i dont agree with you. Almost every human being is considered dishonest(don't want to use the word 'evil'). The best thing is to ensure that there are checks in place to ensure there is no form of stealing or at least reduce it. However, there is no denying that there is moral decline in our country and i feel it is as a result of the situation of the country because when people do not have an honest means of making money to feed, they resort to stealing. The world bank released a report that 133 million people are currently living below poverty line in nigeria, which is more thanhalf of our population. SmartPolician: If you say Nigerians (of all TRIBES) are good people, then you don't even know your own people. With a few exceptions, most Nigerians are e..vil. Even this lady crying in this video probably stole from someone in the past to establish her own business.
For the fact that Nigerians of all tribes collectively destroyed the civil service, it only tells you something - there's nothing good about Nigerians. |

PlayerMeji: When will Nigerian governors learn to build streets and roads without open gutters...?
These things show the laziness on the part of the government, imagine still constructing open gutters in the major roads in the 21st century whereby underground drainage systems have taken over the whole world... I agree with you bro, but in nigeria, it still creates a problem. For Instance, in Marina lagos island, the gutters are fully covered, but we see people pissing around the covered gutters leaving the whole place so smelly that you are left to think that government should just leave the gutters open |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Top 10 African Countries With The Highest Fuel Prices In August 2025 by Okichi: 10:19am On Aug 20, 2025 |
WizardOfNG: A lot of Nigerians blind themselves to reality hating one thing/person or the other. Ghana is terribly expensive and it is irritating ignorant and self-hating Nigerians keep referencing her as "economically superior" to shade Nigeria.
I remember earlier this year, with the usual talk of Ghana currency "superiority' to Naira, I had to factually prove that Ghana redenomination of her currency does not make the cedi more valuable than naira because removing zeroes does not increase a currency's spending power.
I showed, factually, a product sold in both nations, in real time, cost around 700 Naira in Nigeria whereas it's equivalent price in Ghana, converting cedis to Naira, is around 2,500 Naira.
As I said earlier, hatred of ourselves make us the biggest enemies of progress to each other.
Imagine the ignorance and self-hate making some Nigerians insist the worthless cedis is more valuable than Naira simply because the 20 cedis you mentions appears of greater value compared to her Naira equivalentof 2,816 Naira.
Yet inspect the purchasing power parity (PPP), the real determinant of a currency's strenght and measure of inflation, which shows a 20 cedis (2816 Naira) haircut in Ghana is 1500 Naira (10.65 cedis) in Nigeria.
Meaning Nigerians pay half of what Ghanaians pay for haircut. Yet self-hating Nigerians are still bashing their own nation.
Bro, shey you see why I push for regional autonomy daily? A country full of different ethnicities who hate themselves and act like enemies more than fellow citizens plus the biggest and most ignorant demarketers of each other, can never forge a great nation.
Much easier for ethnicities that love themselves to develop great regions of Nigeria instead once freed of 'one Nigeria' restrictions. All you have stated does not make sense, all you need to do is compare the minimum wage of Ghana or any of the african countries listed here with that of Nigeria |

Politics › Re: A Professor Of What? Soludo's Embarrassing Statement On Sabmiller's Investment by Okichi: 1:45pm On Jul 19, 2025 |
Please you are talking nonsense, if the amount invested is much lesser than its actual amount, you cannot say that peter obi made a bad investment because the devaluation of naira affected every corner of the economy even MTN reported a loss last year. if anyone is to blame , it is both the current and past president. Now ask yourself this question, if the money was used to build maybe a conference centre, do you think that will be generating more cashflow to the state than a brewery that not only generates monthly cashflow but has also created hundreds of direct jobs as well as thousands of indirect job. Please think deep before replying lionshare: This is the problem: you don’t understand how owning shares in a public company works. Otherwise, you wouldn’t be insulting a professor. SabMiller is part of the International Breweries group, which is listed on the NGX. To understand Soludo’s position, you need to find out: • How many shares Anambra owns in International Breweries, • The current valuation of these shares, • And how this compares to the amount originally invested. If you do this, you’ll understand why you’re wrong on many fronts. |

Seems the senate doesn't understand basic accounting, the chief accountant has already explained that the receivables will cancel the payables. every company has receivables and payables in their accounts, how does that bring about misappropriation. Besides, these top executives of NNPC were just elected recently, how come they are to account for past years accounts when they weren't even employed in NNPC. If the senate are really serious, they should invite former NNPC boss, Kyari and his team to come and explain any misappropriation |

phantom: Adewale Ademoyega said it clearly in his book "why we struck" as early as 1981 but the yoruba lagos/ibadan print media mafia have done everything in their power to revise history 😂
But no wahala... truth cannot he hidden... When Gowon pens his own memoir, get ready to have an instant stroke on reading his 😂
Igbos planned a coup.. that's the narrative you enjoy pushing but go blind, deaf and dumb when you get to the partof the story were it was the same igbos that foiled the coup.
Ademoyega himself owned up to the fact that AZIKIWE WAS NOT IN THEIR PLAN TO STRIKE! And like Awolowo, the coup plotters probably believed Zik should have been at the helm
These were a group of disgruntled miltary officers who were very unhappy with the unbridled corruption in the polity. Massive corruption perpuated by POLITICAL UNREST THAT BEGAN IN THE SOUTH WEST! Military officers who were highly educated with very rigid social/political values and ideologies. Unlike officers of today. Some even believed them to be devout, practicing socialists which would explain why Awolowo was their choice of a leader.
Akintola was a very corrupt, cantankerous and recalcitrant premier who turned the south west upside down, went head to head with Awolowo and culminating in the famous cross carpeting and upsetting of the polity.
The Yoruba can attest to the character of Akintola if they are being truthful with themselves but I won't hold my breath. See how they foisted an incompetent Tinubu on the rest of the country and are proudly defending that idiotic move knowing fully well the fellow is not the best they could have presented.
Today, the same yorubas who started this madness have carefully rewritten history and painted themselves saints.
Look at what is happening in Lagos and Osun today! It is a well known fact that when it comes to political rascality and thuggery the south west is UMATCHED!!!
These 5 majors saw all these in the polity and decided to put a stop to it.
Awolowo and Azikiwe must have been the only leaders they thought should have been at the helm and explains why they were spared.
You folks should go and read history and stop pushing nauseating propaganda. The Problem is that FFK who is talking here was just a child when the civil war began. what does he think he knows about the civil war apart from telltales |

Lanretoye: yes, under tinubu leadership every member state is seeing that there is no economic benefit, terrorism and insecurity is spreading amongst member states and sub region, the objective of ECOWAS is not yielding and the purpose for the formation is not in conformity with the present realism.it is not a bad idea to break up or disband and countries that share the same problems, ideology and prospects can regroup.1975 is not 2025,many things has changed, blaming tinubu for this shows how myopic you can be.it is a pity that some of you even blame tinubu for your infertility but when you see the reality that is facing you,I pray it won't be too late. wait, whom are you supposed to blame. ourselves?. if Tinubu had tried to discourage the other countries through negotiations and mediations from leaving ECOWAS rather than threatening to go to war, then this will not be happening. I dont know why you support Tinubu, what has he ever done for you |
