Politics / Why Nigeria Still Sells Electricity To Togo, Niger, Benin Amid Blackout by okikesam: 7:52am On Jul 29, 2020
Source: Ripples Nigeria

The Presidency said the distribution of electricity to the neighbouring countries was due to Multilateral Energy Sales Agreement with their governments so that they would not dam the waters that feed Nigeria’s major power plants in Kainji, Shiroro and Jebba.

Garba Shehu said this in response to a publication by a Nigerian newspaper which had decried the situation where Nigeria sells electricity to neighbouring countries on credit while blackouts still persist in the country.

He said: “Power exported to Niger, Benin and Togo based on Multilateral Energy Sales Agreement with the Government of Nigeria is on the basis that they would not dam the waters that feed our major power plants in Kainji, Shiroro and Jebba.”

Speaking on what the countries are owing Nigeria for the electricity sold to them, Shehu said:

“As of the last review in 2019, the amount of indebtedness to all three customers stood at $69 million, subsequent upon which several payments were made to NBET. Much of this has been repaid by the debtor nations.

“As of today, Niger owes only USD 16 million and Benin, USD 4 million, adding up to the Naira equivalent of about N1.2bn.”

Science/Technology / Gtbank, Flutterwave, Now Paystack. Why Are Fintechs Dying To Play In E-commerce by okikesam: 4:51pm On Jun 26, 2020
Gtbank has been trying to own an e-commerce platform since 2014. They started with Smemarkethub in 2014, and it flunked. And they are now wasting money on Habari. Flutterwave also launched an e-commerce platform not long ago and Paystack just announce another commerce platform today.

Is there something hidden within e-commerce that the payment companies believe that it’s their call to find/solve or is it just a growth strategy?

A lot of undergrads often skip breakfast while on the run to ensure that they start their day as early as possible.

However, what a lot of students do not know is that eating breakfast is very important.

It is an integral part of the day and should be a routine to ensure a good start for each day.

Technology Market / Furniture Goes Online! Furnish.ng Nigeria's Largest Online Furniture Store. by okikesam: 12:47pm On May 06, 2016
Furnish.NG (https://www.furnish.ng) offers customers access to an online catalogue of highly-customisable, high quality, and affordable pieces of furniture, homeware, and interior décor items. As a marketplace, it will grant our local craftsmen and vendors in the furnishing, decorations, and gardening industries a platform to reach out and connect with a wider customer base cutting across all states in Nigeria and beyond Nigeria. By assembling a wide variety of high-quality and affordable furniture, homeware, interior decoration and gardening items, we hope to encourage Nigerians to look inwards while shopping for their next pieces of furniture or homeware item thereby helping to preserve our foreign exchange and consequently strengthening the Naira in this Post-Oil Era.

Never before in the history of our country has it been utterly imperative for us to look inwards and create value for ourselves by manufacturing and patronizing locally-made products and services than now. The ideals of the recent #BuyNaijaToGrowTheNaira trend was a major consideration when the idea for Furnish.NG came over 10 months ago. To the glory of God, Furnish.NG launched on 3rd of April, 2016 after 10 months of product development and customer development efforts.

Furnish.NG is a product of the actual needs of Nigerians. Read full story: http://radar.techcabal.com/t/furnish-ng-the-journey-has-just-begun/5109

It also wasn't the fault of my network because every other thing was loading perfectly well. On about 5 different occasion after I chose an answer the smarterer dialog box remained non-responsive for about 3-5 mins, after which it will notify me that I ran out of time, although I got the answer right. That must be the Home Study test score you are talking about. The Home Study test will be done later, after application for this class (XI) is closed - I think. In the meantime, are you going through the Home Study tasks on Codecademy and doing some extra reading and practice?
