Taiwo Oyekan, through his Non-Governmental Organization, the Kolawole Ajibade Oyekan Foundation, distributed food items valued at millions of Naira to 400 residents in the Lagos Island Local Government Area. The distribution event took place at the Eyo Cenotaph in Idumota, Lagos.

Each beneficiary received a package that included 2 kg bags of rice, raw meat, vegetable oil, pepper, tomatoes, loaves of bread, and a crate of eggs.

During the event, Hon. Oyekan emphasized that the Food Bank Initiative aimed to extend support to the vulnerable populations on the Island and beyond. He explained that the Social Welfare Scheme was designed to help mitigate the effects of the removal of the fuel subsidy.
