Make a backup.. Flash another rom and if the symptoms persist..

Hold your fone hardware as responsible but probably firmware ish..

Gaming hard can cause hotness.... 3G MODE most times a probable suspect... Same unnecessary apps can also be responsible...

Troubleshoot your fone first..

But the flashable kitkat stock ain't bad at all.. And I mean never experienced NEVER in capital letters overheating

I downloaded an update through the phone about the overheating but its refusing to upgrade. When I selected upgrade, it rebooted into cwm and tried to upgrade but then failed. What do I do? does it have anything to do with it been rooted? I have never changed ROM and it was bought with KitKat.
