@Candylips; Let them use whatever they feel they prefer. Insofar as the job gets done. @enohj2ee: Do you want site engineers or free lancers. |
There isn't any more question to ask reading the details of this entire thread (not minding its length). But somehow, the question asked by benom on this page https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-240241.4800.html Nevertheless, you guys are the bomb and I wish you all success. |
What is wrong with java See I started out with VB, then went on to java because of what VB could not provide. I have RedHat linux and XP on my laptop. Both OS share a partition on the laptop running FAT32 and apps written in java can be run from any side. Secondly, the power of java cannot be under stated, it is the best Enterprise-oriented language on earth. Take it or leave it. Don't beef it. Thirdly, the countless number of frameworks for java makes it easier for any body to jumpstart and create good apps. I am a programmer and will not undermine any language. But when the chips are down, java is Enterprise. Has lived unto its promise and more is yet to come in the word of scripting. remember that javaFX is still in the pipeline. The in thing now is MOM, SOA. And this paradigms are more deployed in java than any other language except that WS-I has come to help, .NET may never have been able to find it footing there. Talk about mobile-computing and who has it. Talk about platform independence and who has it. Hey!, .NET fellows, a patch has been written in Linux to help run VB apps on it. Good News! Sun is not forcing anyone to recognize them for java. They have completely open source java, and even the best IDE - netbeans. So, who is angry. Java programmer, don't mind them. Java is everywhere. It is those who have not used it that are angry because of the hype. Ask them - which fortune 500 company will deploy mission critical apps (written in .NET) on Solaris Blade or Linux RAC. None. It is java. Java now powers Oracle AS. If I continue, I will just get more proud coding in java. So, mind us and join us) but learning and writing .NET apps is still a great asset because with linux support for .NET apps (http://www.cyberciti.biz/tips/visual-basic-for-linux.html), the sky is your limit. But the easiest language to learn is PHP. From experience. |
Guys , Una try for the research. Nigerian software companies are doing fine but they no dey try for these areas 1. No product for SMBs 2. No campaign/training/help/program for younger developers - lets say graduates 3. They are no diversified at all. 4. No corporate community among these companies like what Nairaland is doing 5. No advisory body to help the Nigerian government as IT Consultant. If Nigeria wants to do a thing now, they still will go to Sun, or Bea or Microsoft 6. They have not contributed so well to Nigerian Computing Society (NCS). 7. Even some of their products don't stand the test of time like SocketWorks and their Portals (I have experiences). 8. I cannot believe they make so much and even pay their programming staffs so little. Na only marketer dey chop their money. 9. Branding. - Look at NEPA, NITEL - they still use foreign software. 10. Division - Our Local so called software companies will rather out-source to US than to their fellow Nigerian counterpart. U all see Much could be achieve personally, corporately, togetherly, Nationally and globally. And until we give OURSELVES this brand our internall success will not last not to even talk about global impact. Michael E. |
Hello, Can anybody advise with what I am going through. I don't know if I have a particular short coming here. I three years plus in Java and can currently run J2EE apps in java but to get certified is my problem. I enrolled for my SCJP 1.4 April 2006, but did not get response. According to the vue center, they said the price had gone up. I only requested my money becos I wasn' t comfortable with the guy. It took me 3 months to get my money (In Kaduna). I went to the second at Awka and , long story; they refunded me. At the third one in Warri , I just got a called that the price has been increased to 45, 000 for SCJP 5. Can anybody tell what's up or don't I know where to go? I am planning to take SCJD immediately after. So, I need advice Michael |
I know of one A. T. Sesan in Lagos that has the software. He said he designed it with VB and MSSQL. I was about to help him market it but , So you can contact him. Try google to get his url but I think it is www.atsesan.com If you still insist on design you can get me at okmich2002@yahoo.com Michael |
I am up to the tune of the designed. If really interested call me 08066012270 or mail okmich2002@yahoo.com. Michael |
As for me, I think the first thing is not specifying the amount, 30, 000 can be too much or too small depending on job description. So friend, ask the person to specify the job description and post on this thread so that we may know if the pay is worth it. you may send it to my inbox okmich2002@yahoo.com Michael |
Please show us the technology you are intending to use for the project. Are planning on the technology after you see interested persons. Whichever way, I think I can be available for team work. But I don't know anybody in Lagos. Michael |
