Some Nigerians consider homosexuality of the male type stuffs of fables. But in recent times, gays have been coming out of the closets and are becoming more daring in their overtures, especially on the social media such as Facebook, 2go, and Whatsapps chat-enabled applications common to many mobile devices.

For those with their ears to the ground, rumblings and rumours about gays and their damned activities are becoming ramparts in the city of Lagos so much so that discerning members of the public can now pinpoint some of the locations where they use as rendezvous for pick-up or meet-up.

A Sunday Express investigations came up with credible findings that indicate that a cluster of hangouts at Maza-maza, a densely populated area at Mile Two along the Badagry express way is currently the beehive of gay activities. Other gay enclaves include Agric and Festac, two outlying locations along the same axis.

In the course of the investigation, Sunday Express encountered a gang of four young men who could be referred to as “gay busters” based on their confrontational encounters with the “men of sodomy.” Johnson, Peter, Cletus and Ebuka (all students) who constituted themselves into an anti-gay club shared their experiences with SE reporters.

Their experience is an aperture on the pervasiveness of this sexual cankerworm that is gradually corroding the fabric of the society.

Cletus started with his personal encounters with a gay stalker.

“I am a fun-loving guy. I often go to hang out in notable hotels in Festac town during the weekend just to watch entertainers perform. But to my utmost dismay, most of the guys there started making sexual advances at me.”

The twenty-something-year old continued: “These are guys who ought to have pretty girls by their sides. One in particular was quite persistent. He is a famous Igbo gospel artiste-cum-actor, fair-complexioned, he acts and sings like a woman. He calls me with such endearment as “baby, my love,” and “sweetheart.” I was embarrassed because it was so unromantic coming from a fellow guy.”

When Cletus failed to take the bait, the artiste raised the stake by promising him a smartphone, a N100, 000 cash one night stand and a tour with him to other states where he was billed to perform.

“When he was becoming obsessive with his calls and requests even at ungodly hours, I had to call him to order, by threatening to report him to the press if he doesn’t stop his incessant harassments,” he narrated.

Peter’s case was not so different from that of Cletus. He was consistently harassed on 2go and Whatsapp, two mobile phone chat applications popular among youths.

For Peter, the most maddening part of the episode was the noisome habit of one of the gays who likes sending him pictures of his erect manhood and other exposed parts of his body and also prompting him to do same, after his promise of cash and other enticing material things failed.

“In the course of our chat,” Ebuka, recalled his encounter with a Facebook gay, “he confessed to have been in the act for over 10 years. Though he has a girlfriend, he hardly feels aroused whenever she’s around him or touches him. Instead he feels a sensual chemistry for fellow men and easily gets aroused when he feels a sensual touch of a male on his body.”

In retrospect Ebuka reflected: “If I wasn’t careful enough, I would have fallen into his snare. I must confess, his offer was really enticing. And a student like me could do with such support. Another sad thing about these gays, is that they like luring young and under age guys living around Mazamaza and its environs.”

From these thrust-and-parry encounters with gays, the four young men found a common calling: punishing gays. They formed an anti-gay club in their neighbourhood.

Subsequently, they set up some gays using a hotel located at Satellite town.
Ebuka reconstructed one of their outings: “There was this particular fellow who was disturbing me for months. I informed my friends about it and we agreed to teach him a lesson. I finally accepted his overtures and I invited him to come around. I told him to meet me at a particular hotel where we have already booked for a room.

He came from Coker, close to Orile Iganmu. When he arrived he paid for the room. Inside the room, I told him that my service fee would cost him N50,000. After haggling, we agreed on N20,000. I insisted he took a shower and while he was at it I made the bed. In his presence I stripped off my clothes save for my brief.

When he saw me, his manhood became erect and he became impatient. He wanted to insert his manhood inside my anus right away but I insisted he take his bathe first. When it was finally time for ‘action,’ I cued my friends and they burst into the room. He was caught ‘pants down, naked.

Fans of two of Nollywood’s biggest fishes; Omotola Jalade Ekeinde and Genevieve Nnaji, may lately be surprised that the two perceived arch rivals are now getting along with each other like never before.

Even though both actresses have denied being enemies before now, sources close to them have severally confirmed to Nigeriafilms.com that the two really don’t too get along with each other.

It is true that the duo have acted in movies as sisters more than any other ‘rivals’ or actresses in Nollywood, but sources maintained to us that they only get along when they are in front of cameras but always return to status quo immediately after they get behind the cameras.

But recently, the two have been publicly telling the world that they are best of friends.

First, it was at Ibinabo’s birthday held in Lagos in January. Also, at Omotola’s surprise birthday in March, they both got together. At the last AMVCA, Omosexy and Genny, as both are fondly called, got along and even made jest of each other.

The person behind all these is Ibinabo Fiberesima, the AGN president.

Our reliable source told us that Ibinabo has been instrumental in bringing these two heavyweights together. Like what she promised during her campaign period that she would unite Nollywood, our source said she has been working tirelessly to fulfil that promise.

“A reconciliation meeting was held where Ibinabo appealed to both Omotola and Genevieve to embrace each other as sisters and not as colleagues,” our source said.

Enugu State governor Sullivan Chime’s son, Nnamdi, is getting ready to quit bachelorhood.

He will marry his heartthrob Nneoma Atueyi next month, April 2013.

Their traditional wedding will hold on Friday April 12th at the bride’s hometown of Nnewi, in Anambra State while their white wedding will hold on Saturday April 13th in Enugu.

Prof. Amobi Ilika has advised those who consume sachet water (popularly called pure water) exposed to heat to be wary in order to avoid drinking cancerous substances.
Ilika, who is the Director of Community and Public Medicine at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Teaching Hospital (NAUTH), Nnewi, said sachet water exposed to heat beyond room temperature could be cancerous.
He said the heat could melt some of the substances used in making the polythene bags.
According to him, the polythene bags contain cancerous materials that are harmful to the body.
“The most important is the deterioration of the water while in polythene bags made of synthetic petroleum; since the polythene bags are weather-sensitive.
“Some of the properties of the polythene bags made of synthetic petroleum product materials melt into the water after sun-ray or heat exposure.
“Thus, carcinogenic materials will drop into the water. The polythene bags also develop germs and micro organisms which enter the water through the deterioration of the polythene bag,’’ he said. (NAN)

Persons, suspected to be cultists, have killed a 30-year-old man, popularly known as Gani, and two other persons in Ilorin, Kwara State.
It was learnt that the incident occurred at about 9am on Tuesday when five suspected cultists, allegedly chased rival gang members to Ipata in Ilorin South Local Government of the state.
The suspects were said to have shot sporadically while chasing their target and eventually shot Gani in the neck, resulting in his death.
The cultists also cut his (Gani’s) lifeless body with machetes.
An eyewitness, who pleaded anonymity, told journalists in Ilorin that the suspected cultists chased Gani from his residence at Aduralere to Ipata where they allegedly caught up with him and murdered him.
The source also said the lifeless body of the victim, which had been soaked in blood was later evacuated by riot policemen who were swiftly deployed in the scene to restore normalcy.
Other attacks were said to have subsequently occurred at Gambari and Adewole areas.
Our correspondent gathered that after the attacks two other persons were feared dead while five people sustained serious injuries.
It was learnt that the current attacks appeared to be a reprisal as journalists in Ilorin were informed that the orgy of killings started last Friday.

National Youth Service Corps in Ogun State has stopped a female corps member, Miss Tolutope Ekundayo, from participating in the ongoing orientation programme for allegedly refusing to wear trousers at the camp.
Ekundayo, who spoke with reporters after a press conference organised by the General Overseer, Faith Revival Apostolic Church, Apostle Paul Adenuga in Lagos, said she was thrown out of the camp at about 11pm on Friday.
The corps member, a graduate of the Lagos State University, Ojo, alleged that NYSC officials asked her to leave the camp after she refused to wear trousers, one of the corps members’ attire.
But the NYSC State Coordinator, Mrs. T.I Anosike, said Ekundayo voluntarily withdrew from the service “based on her faith.’’
According to Ekundayo, females wearing trousers contravened her Christian belief.
Tolulope said, “I faced a panel and I was directed to submit all the kits that were given to me on the camp, which I did. There was also an order that I should go to the account unit and refund the N2, 500 transport and bicycle allowances paid to me when I arrived at the camp and I did so. All these happened on the same Friday that they ordered me to leave the camp.
“I want to serve my fatherland and if NYSC will allow me to wear skirts, I am ready to return to the Orientation Camp. My khaki and white skirts were made in such a way that they did not give me any problem. I was in Platoon Four and I participated actively in all the exercises from Tuesday to the Friday that I was thrown out of the camp.”

The 35-year-old artist has boosted sales for Korea’s Energy Factory line of lotions for men, selling an “impressive 200,000 bottles” in just a month, not only hitting their target demographic of 20-year-old males, but even men in their 30s and 40s, according to owner/ major Korean cosmetics brand Somang.

But Psy isn’t just showing good face. He was reportedly involved in every stage of the creative process including picking the ingredients, designing the packages and marketing the goods. The promotional video has unsurprisingly racked up upwards of 550,000 views.

The Mercedes-Benz C-Class saloon is one of the very few four-doors that offer as much driving satisfaction as a proper sportscar. So it’s always heartening to see that a new version is on the horizon. And one sure is, as a new set of spy shots have popped up in our inbox showing more details of the next generation C-Class saloon than ever before.

Likely to go on sale sometime next year, the prototype seen here points to Stuttgart having kept the previous model’s proportions while sharpening the lines overall. Although disguised, the grille seems to have been influenced by the one seen in the new E-Class, with sleeker looking headlights.

While the V6 will remain, a turbocharged 1.8-litre engine is likely to make its way into the entry-level model, as is a hybrid powertrain. But we have our sights sets on the extreme AMG tuned version with a twin-turbo V8 under its bonnet.

Although it remains to be seen if AMG will go with the current 5.5-litre lump or the 4.0-litre unit that’s rumoured to be in the pipeline.
