We gave you RvP for £29m you used him for 2seasons and he is gone for nothing. We got Welbeck from you for £13m less, won the FA cup and still counting. What's about shirt sales, Arsenal FC sells as much shirts too. Even your boyfriend has one. Another gayner fan spilling false information! United acquired RVP for an initial fee of 22.5M pounds with an additional 1.5M pounds if United won the league... total of 24M pounds. Arsenal paid 16M pounds for Welbeck. He still single-handled put the club into the UCL quarters the following season, that's not a one year thing. Danny Welbeck will not win Arsenal any league title. How can he even step on the dance floor from outside the club? My Ghanian friend is always in the sickbay!! You get strength to dey school this gayners them o. Kagawa10: I never claimed Van gaal achieved his aim! His aim was top 3 though. I stated that Mourinho would have to do better than top 4 because we were joint top 4 with City apart from the goal difference. Moreso, I constantly blamed Van gaal for the lack of quality players he failed to bring into the squad. I pointed out his fault like how He readily tool punt on players like Rojo or a crock like Bastian. I pointed out both the good work he did and his fault but no, majority don't want to see his good thing about him and would rather pick one childish fight or the other just because they've been wired to be sheeps! So how does reaping off Mourinho and pointing out the negative things about him help United as a club? I am a big fan of LVG and i was very happy when he was appointed as the manager of United. Down the line, he became disillusioned and he couldn't deliver. At that point it was clear that he had to leave the club. Mourinho needs all the support that he can get from fans around the world. Let him start his work on the team before you start castigating him. There is no gain in trying to be the different one in a crowd. it's cool to have a different perspective and ideology in comparison to other people, but something is surely wrong when facts are given to prove that your ideology/belief is wrong and you fail to see reason. Lastly in the football world, once a manager/coach "okays" the signing of a player, the player automatically becomes his signing. It was the head of Leicester's scouting network and other scouts that identified Kante as an excellent player, does it mean that Kante is not Raineri's signing? You can't win all battles bro... don't be like Dayo sometimes you take the L and move on. |

Kagawa10: Lol! A player that was chased all summer by Moyes but ten got signed under Van gaal was his player? Keep believing in your foolery! I asked again was Gotze Pep's guy? Your have a point but the presentation is faulty. Herrera was scouted heavily under Moyes and a deal was almost signed until the fiasco that happened towards the end of the transfer window. Herrera was not identified by LVG but LVG gave the green light on the deal before it was finalised by Ed Woodward. He said so in one of first set of press conferences. Shaw's transfer is also in a similar boat. Since LVG gave the green light on the deal, it means that Herrera was his signing. You don't have to trade insults or turn to a shape shifter. |

ollah1: Your comment is full of flaws. Pep won consecutive leagues with Barca B while playing attractive football. This was what made him get the get the job on a trial level but he wowed everybody. Pre Pep, Barca went two years winning nothing. He won every avaliable trophies in his first year yet he doesn't deserve the credit. It's the team that deserves it. The same team which he built 80% of it.
He took over a Bayern team which just won the UCL but what happened to the core attacking players? They went on injury spree and they are aged at the moment. He left the team in a good state with young promising players . He lost to three Spanish teams, two of which became champions eventually while we await the third tonight.
No team would have defeated Barca last season. Only his team got a win the knock out stage. Every other team and yes the defending champion of "the best league in the world " got schooled home and away. Errrrm.... the bolded above is incorrect..... He has nothing to prove He doesnt have to win Top 4 is enough He might be asked to play youth team
We would have an army of people shouting upandan
Now its balance let both win with their respective squad failure to do so means they failed You get strength to dey go back and fourth though! At the beginning of the just concluded season, I expected City to win the league but I noticed an alarming depreciation of their aging core players. Whereas United have a relatively young core (DDG-Smalling-Jones-Shaw-Martial). Based on last season's result I believe both teams are currently at par. Over the season United had the upper hand when both teams met.... 0-0 at Old Trafford and a lone goal from Rashford at the Etihad stadium. The claim that Mourinho has nothing to prove is laughable, I think he has a lot to prove. A misfortune with United will significantly affect his stock after the Chelsea debacle. Also Pep has got a lot to prove. He needs to show that he can be successful without being the coach of the best team in the league he finds himself. City's team are at the lowest point since they won their first EPL title. For me, I expect the both of them to hit the ground running and to set a frantic pace. I am super sure they will both spend over 100M on acquisition of players. Winning the league will be the ultimate target of both coaches and finishing in the top 3 will be a good result for both of them provided that the top 3 team remain in the race for the title till the last month of the season. If Pep does not win the league at the first time of asking, it won't make him a failure. Same goes for Mourinho! |

MrTA: for those who keep saying he's anot a man Utd type of coach. There is only one Sir Alex Ferguson. One unique coach. There won't be another like him. So we have to move on from saying that's the type of coach we should be getting because SAF no get part 2. I've been in very 2 minds about Jose, but the reality is the game has changed. No top club is getting a manager that will stay for 10 years if they want to be successful for a long time. It simply won't happen anymore. Also, Jose is a very polarising person. But he's undeniably a great manager. He cannot be less than great with that CV.I'm not saying he's guaranteed success but he's the best manager based on availability and his track record. I see it going one of 2 ways. He's either going to having amazing success or a complete disaster. I don't see us becoming mediocre under him.
As for now, he is now the manager of Manchester United. So he will have my full support. You get power to dey respond to people with the funny "he is not a united type of coach" story... how many Man United managers have they experienced. No one can be like Fergie! GBR1: To be frank, I'm really irritated by these "bringing through youth" tag some use as beating stick for a manager like Jose while others use to praise LVG's tenure here. People should get their priorities right and be reasonable as much as possible. I mean everything is so clear. We've been mediocre for about 3 years now and it's no joke, and it doesn't seem the slide has been arrested. Getting back to winning is the most important thing right now, and Mourinho offers the greatest chance at that.
I love good debates and could dispel some myths or end some illogic being peddled but i don't even see the need right now. All tags like "he doesn't play youth", '' his bad behavior/antics'', " he doesn't last more than 3 years'' , "boring football" etc are all extremely pointless and useless as they can get.
It doesn't matter if a manager is without those tags. Without the wins, you are nothing. Please when we get back to winning ways, then we can trash out the rest. The most important thing ever to United has always been winning. Winning through whatever means; yes I said it, and I mean every bit of it. Bringing through youth while doing it, or playing attacking football etc are simply bonuses we've come to enjoy. That's realism.
Like I said earlier, I enjoy good debates but if you disagree with the above, then I don't even fancy trying to convince you. It depends; I might try though. People are just following the bandwagon. He chose to play a 22 years old Cech over Cudicini Mourinho played a 17 years old Santon at Inter Milan He gave a 20 years old Varane ample playing time at Madrid, same story for Zouma at Chelsea. I believe that if he feels a player is ready and good enough he will do the needful. I can't wait to see what he can make do with Fosu-Mensah. The guy looks a lot like a Mourinho style player. |

Roland17: Aburo,
Personally, this is one of the best signing(s) in the midfield position from Wenger in a very long time, considering this position is one we have struggled with in a very long time (depending on where Wenge decides to play him).
Honestly, i was not sure we could land him, however, i think Granit's mind was already made up on where he wanted to play and other suitors could not deter his decision.
For those who only follow the premier league, Granit is one of the most technically gifted/ dominant midfielder at his age in Europe and has got international experience to back it up. he can play multiple positions, especially leading from behind. Wenger is increasing the size in the middle of the park with his most recent signatures.
I concur, we are one experienced CB and a mobile striker who is technically gifted away from a balanced team that can compete for titles.
Great signing. #WELCOMEXHAKA Stop trying to sound like a sage! "For those who only watch the EPL" Most peeps must have known him from the Basel team that had Shaqiri and Frei. He is an excellent midfielder though. |
