sweetonugbu: The problem with Nigeria is the same problem with Africa, Africa need to unite, and break away the shackles of mental neo colonialism.
Well, you're right bro. To me in a country like Nigerian, we need to develop a clear understanding of those strategies they use on us then and implement new policy to overcome them
After colonization, the Europeans could no longer take whatever they wanted, we could now trade with Europeans. However there was a catch, we could only trade with our colonial masters. This eliminated competition. Another stipulation was that, we could only export raw materials thereby inhabiting the rate at which our local Africa industries could develop. Furthermore, there was to be preferential treatment to the colonialists settlers who chose to remain in the former colonies, from tax exemptions to allowing them to keep the huge tracts of land they had acquired for themselves
When the colonialist came and found our great grandparents ( yes it wasn't that long ago ) they found that we hadn't developed to anything close their level, Africans were living in a simple communities, we had just gone beyond hunters and gatherers and had adopting farming, animals keeping and participating in barter trade. We had what you would consider a rudimentary government and hierarchical leadership structures. And in terms of weaponry we had machetes, spears and shields made from dried animal hides. So when the colonialists rolled up on our shores and saw this they thought, why trade while we can just point our guns at them and take whatever we want and kill whoever would try and stop us ( turn out it's pretty easy to get someone to do your bidding after threatening to kill them and their whole communities). So one after the other Africans were loaded onto ship, literally stockpiled to be used and sold

There are certain foods Nigerians miss most when living abroad. Although, these foods are not necessarily our favourites, but they remind us of our fatherland and it is no wonder we get sad when alternative foods do not meet up with the original ones in taste and appearance.
xjiggy: Nice. The sculpted work in and around art department in Auchi polytechnic is really awesome. Any Auchi poly student here should try and do something like this and showcase it here
