Education / The Blind Emerges Winner In Lagos State Quiz Contest by Oladelson(m): 8:41am On Jul 01, 2016
Pacelli School for the Blind emerges winner in Lagos State quiz contest...

Pacelli School for the Blind, Surulere has emerged winner in the maiden edition of a two-day quiz competition organized by Lagos State Office for Disability Affairs (LASODA) between pupils of regular and special schools in Lagos State.

The event, themed “towards an inclusive education in Lagos State” and held in Adeyemi Bero Auditorium, had eight primary schools participating at the preliminary stage but only four of the schools made it to the final stage of the keenly contested competition.
Speaking at the event, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Youth and Social Development, Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola said the gesture was in line with Lagos State Government’s promise to re-position the socio –political and economic fortunes of people living with disabilities in the State.

The programme, he added, was also “designed to create windows of opportunities to exhibit their inherent qualities and contribute to the economic growth of Lagos State”.
According to Mr. Muri –Okunola, “Lagos State government is of the view that by making education more accessible and inclusive, the number of literate people with disability would increase, thereby enhancing their social- potentials and relevance in the society.”
General Secretary of the association of teachers in disability schools in Lagos State, Azeez Alihu commended Lagos State Government for identifying with people living with disabilities by enacting relevant laws that protect their interests but lamented that different groups of disabled people also face other various challenges in their academic pursuits and the larger society.
He therefore pleaded with the State Government to assist disabled people by providing tools and equipment that will enhance their learning skills, particularly the ‘Braille embosser’ used by the blind.
The winners were presented awards and cash prizes after the event as follows: Pacelli School for the Blind – N100,000 for first prize; Estate Primary School, Ogba – N80,000 for second prize and Maryland Primary School – N50,000 for third prize.
The pupils were tested in Mathematics, English-language and Social Studies.

Education / Re: DIRECT ENTRY 2016/2017 LASU( Lagos State University) by Oladelson(m): 9:03am On Jun 16, 2016
YoBoyfwend:
sir, like Millex said, you have to go through the "regularisation" process to obtain a jamb reg no. Which would show your details about the poly you finished from.. As you know, for someone to apply through direct entry, you must have OND, A-level and other equivalent diploma before you can be eligible.... Without your jamb reg. Number, how do you expect jamb to know you finished from a particular polytechnic? That you're using OND to apply? It doesn't affect part-timers only....even full-timers..which I am one of them.

Jamb issued a directive to all schools to submit names of those without jamb's admission letter. You were/are supposed to pay a particular sum to your school, then wait for a new reg. Pin which would be validated and used to register for d.e... Its very compulsory but its obvious you're getting to know of this..which is late, I think... Find out if your school is still accepting payment and mind you, the sale of d.e forms would soon close..

There's a way of registering even without a jamb reg, number.. The use of "other diploma" when registering. You"ll be admitted for sure but my brother, I can't guarantee what would happen in the nearest future o. Its not advisable...but if any cafe tells you they can register you without a jamb reg. Number, then that's what they wanto use...

Also a victim of this regularisation wahala..
Sorry for the long note cheesy

Bro pls like how much did yu pay for it?

Cos am having the same issue!

Business / Help, Firstbank Of Nig.outrageous Deduction On My Account by Oladelson(m): 11:13am On Jun 15, 2016
Good day,

I Think it is best its comes through this platform.
I have being having lots of issues with my account in first bank.

My name is Moses and i have being banking with Firstbank for up to 9years but recently i noticed some malicious deduction on my account which i think it's unreasonable and bad for a reputable organization to do.

I was at their head office months back to complain, it was just the way a humble Pretty teller spoke to me that changed my mind from closing my account after which 1 of there boss who doesn't know to service customers still got me angry.

I was able to find out that i am being deducted twice or more on every transaction i make.

And sometimes am being debit for not making any transactions.
Pls i need a refund of all my money back.

Career / Re: How Much Do Bank Workers Earn? by Oladelson(m): 10:34am On Jun 11, 2016
Oluseguntee:
Bank workers are often regarded as the big men, whatever section you are working in. I have been wondering how much they earn considering how high the society rates them. I currently work somewhere and my monthly pay plus other extras is good at least compared to others(close to 60k). I wanna know how much do they pay their graduates new entry with respect to the different banks in the country. A guy is so full of himself because he works in the bank. ( I have no beef against him). po

Though its depend on bank,

Some pay up to 75k and some pay as low as 55k

Politics / Osun State Government Liaison Charge! by Oladelson(m): 9:22am On May 03, 2016
Good day palz.

I am here to share my experience about osun state govt liaison charge in lagos!

We where called in our institution to Bring our state of origin certificate, which we set out to get but to students (osun state student) surprise we where told the charge is 5000 naira, and other states like ondo is not like that, ondo charges only 1000 naira.

Pls i personally wish to know if our osun state govt knows about this and also wish to know if the prices is reasonable enough for osun state citizens outside the state.

Thank you...
Great Nigeria student!
