What you heard cannot be confirmed until you get the info yourself, that is what you hear from the horses mouth. Carefully follow the details and you will have ur fone unlocked for free but there other unlock companies that will charge u up to 40 dollars the choice is yours .

@St. Nosky thanks for the compliments read this carefully then you can get your phone unlocked.
1. You need sim unlock code which you can officially get from T-mobile customer care. www.t-mobile.com/contact.aspx.
2. Insert t-mobile sim card in ur g1 fone.
3. Now press menu button and switch on ur fone using the power button(do not release the menu key)
4. Your g1 fone should start in safe mode.
5. Now press the emergency dial button & type *#06# this will show your imei number
6. Give this number t-mobile customer care to get your sim unlock code
7. Return to main screen and access APN settings.
8. A list of preset APN will be shown u need to click new APN button.
9. Scroll down on new APN setting and enter the following
MCC mobile country code
MNC mobile network code
621 20 zain
621 30 mtn
621 50 glo
621 60 etisalat
10. Now switch of your fone
11. Insert the non tmobile sim card
12. Switch on your fone
13. A prompt for enter unlock code will pop up enter the correct code which u received from t mobile.
14. After successfully entering unlock code will activate ur GPRS/EDGE/3G data service will be active as per APN settings.
15. Type google username and password in signing windows & this will activate the unlock g1 device on your sim card.
16. Enter remaining data settings like homepage port to active other data servivice

@Akelliah since your phone are working you do not need to unlock, you forgot your security code thats why i gave you the codes for you to try. Since you still have access to your phone i would advice that you continue to enjoy it.

@Obisky the code you presented are not imei numbers but you need to know that unlock is currently available for gsm networks only eg zain mtn glo and etisalat . Visafone is a cdma network.

Try dis codes if they dont work let me know also give me the network they are locked to if its not the case of security code make yourself clearer thanks.
