A 43-year-old father of three, Edward Herbert set one of his children on fire and doused another in petrol then told a neighbour who heard the commotion that he torched his 3 year old daughter because she “was too beautiful”. Herbert poured petrol over his three-year-old in front of his partner after spending the day boozing and smoking cannabis then set the little girl on fire and tipped petrol over his seven-year-old daughter, according to Perth Now.
Before the attack, Herbret had reportedly been heavily smoking cannabis at their home in Perth, Australia.

He then allegedly told his partner that “the werewolf is coming at 12:00pm”. The court heard how nearing midnight he said “that’s it b****, I am going to kill you”, before he fetched a jerry can of petrol and entered his daughters’ room.

He then poured petrol over the younger child and set her alight before dousing the older child without lighting her up.

His partner tendered a statement to the court which said Herbert had been "getting angry all the time" and had "doubled his cannabis use" before the terrible incident. She said he had smoked cannabis throughout the day in question and consumed alcohol before he began to get angry that evening.

She tried to keep him calm as his anger escalated and feared for her life.

Off-duty police officer Stephanie Bochorsky was at home when she heard the altercation and screaming from her neighbours. The officer told the court that she ran over and asked the woman if she was OK.
"No, he's setting the kids on fire," was the reply.
Holding back tears, Ms Bochorsky said she ran into the room and found the three-year-old on fire. She covered the child with a blanket to extinguish the fire and pulled both children from the room.

A third child, their son, was removed from the home by another woman before another neighbour entered and found Herbert pacing back and forth.

The three-year-old was left with burns to her face and upper body and needed surgery and laser scar management. On the first day of Herbert's judge-alone trial Justice Lindy Jenkins heard the child had suffered "severe and life-threatening" burns and would be permanently scarred. “She will be permanently scarred,” Prosecutor Amanda Forrester told a trial.

Daniel McMillan told the court he asked Herbert what he had done, and he replied that his daughter was "too beautiful", and also said "don't worry, I wouldn't have lit my boy up".

Mr McMillan said Herbert told him "they were his kids" and he could do whatever he wanted with them.

McMillan also testified that Herbert had threatened him, but he was able to disarm him.

He is accused of two counts of doing an act, with intent to unlawfully kill, that was likely to endanger the lives of his children. Other charges include threatening to kill his partner, being armed with a knife in circumstances likely to cause fear and doing an act likely to endanger life with intent to harm.

Herbert admits burning his child but claims he was insane at the time and so not guilty. The trial continues.

Graphic photos: 20 feared dead and several others injured as gunmen storm Zaki Biam community and burn down homes

About 20 people were killed in Zaki Biam, Ukum local government area of Benue State on Monday while several others were seriously injured. A community leader, Chief Udam Wuhe, said more than 10 gunmen stormed the town from TorTonda- Zaki Biam road at about 5:00 p.m. on Monday evening and massacred members of the community.

He said there were no fewer than 20 dead bodies counted in the community, with several others injured and many houses razed by the gunmen.

The state Police Public Relation Officer, Moses Yamu, who confirmed the killing, however, said they don't know the exact amount of those killed and injured. He said:
“We are yet to ascertain the number of those killed in the attack. Our men are already on ground there to restore normalcy to the area,” he said.

According to Daily Post, a source reported that properties including vehicles, houses and a petrol station which belonged to a popular business mogul in the area were among properties that were burnt. The source said:
“The unknown gunmen driving in 4 toyota corolla cars popularly called ‘Duck Nyash’ and 12 Bajaj motorcycles stormed, Zaki Biam, killing people in the town. Casualties are yet to be ascertained but am still tracking events over there as I report this”.

Another source said:
“It started around 2pm this afternoon. About 12 bajaj and 4 duck yash came around the yam market area and started shooting. A fuel station was also burnt. It’s really a bloody evening in Zaki Biam”.
“As I speak to you, everyone has deserted the community, running for his or her dear life. Over 50 persons have been killed, including school children returning home from their schools. We don’t know who the attackers really are”, one of the villagers told Daily Post.

The Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom confirmed the attack of Monday in Zaki Biam, in a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media and ICT, Tahav Agerzua.

The Governor condemned the attack and called for information on the whereabouts of the most wanted person in Benue State, Terwase Akwaza (a.k.a Gana).

The attack happened barely one week after suspected Fulani Herdsmen killed over 10 people in Buruku area of Benue state.

Dr Chris Okafor heals woman with maggots in her private part, donates food stuff to the homeless at Oyingbo

Earlier on in the year when he first hinted that he would be taking philanthropy to a whole new level in 2017, many took it with a pinch of salt. Amazingly, Dr. Chris Okafor has been living it up big time, haven spent nearly 65 million Naira on charity between January and March of 2017!

On Saturday the 18th of March 2017, Dr. Chris Okafor stormed one of the most run down areas of Oyimgbo in Lagos with trucks load of food stuff for the homeless and hungry people in that region. Leading by example, the man of God personally lifted bags of rice and interacted one on one with the beneficiaries who made direct requests on other pressing issues from him. It was something close to Christmas at Oyimgbo as the residents and beneficiaries celebrated the timely intervention of the Chris Okafor Humanity Foundation at a time when recession in the country has left even some seemingly affluent families wondering amiss.

Whenever the man of God visits places like this, people think he’s only just distributing food but in actuality, he’s quietly adopting kids for scholarships and sponsorship in other areas of vocation. He often chooses to keep this to his chest.


Following a very successful outing helping humanity at Oyimgbo, the fiery General Overseer of the Liberation City church again came under a strange anointing during Sunday service at the church headquarters in Ojodu-Berger, on March 19, 2017, when he suddenly prophesied that there was a woman in the congregation who had maggots consistently pouring out of her womanhood, to the extent she wears Pampers around to keep the maggots from falling off in public. He reiterated that again when no one showed up, the he said “don’t be ashamed” repeatedly, then the woman showed up.

While prophesying to the woman, the man of God accurately exposed the name of the retired police officer who was behind her predicament. According to the man of God, the victim had gone to the said police officer who was supposedly a family friend to seek financial help. The retired officer invited her over to his house. When she got there, he offered her a drugged drink. She took the drink and slept off immediately. Then the officer had a strange sex with her. When she woke up, she didn’t realize what had happened, but two weeks later, she started seeing maggots come out of her womanhood in their numbers. She couldn’t stay more than five minutes at any given time without maggots pouring out of her. Out of shame of being embarrassed in the public she started wearing pampers which is obviously for kids, but it ensured the maggots didn’t drop out of her body whenever she was out in the public.

The man of God sent two women to confirm the presence of the maggots and report back. Within minutes, they returned and reported that they had seen the maggots and that they were still alive.

The man of God later explained that the retired police officer had actually used the victim for ritual and that each time the maggots came out of her, that her years on earth were reduced, and the police officer’s years multiplied, and strange money is made to go to the retired officer. Angrily, the man of God prayed fervently for her and declared that for his wickedness, the police officer whose name he mentioned repeatedly would be the one now having maggots come out of his own manhood as he declared “back to sender!”. He said this will be proved by the woman’s miraculous healing at the spot. Truly, the woman was prayed for and asked to stay back and wait for some minutes to see if the maggots were still there. Lo and behold, several minutes later, the maggots were gone! The woman, Gladys who couldn’t contain her joy stormed the pew screaming and crying, interrupting the man of God who was at the time ministering to someone else. The church was thrown into an ecstatic frenzy.

The man of God later advised women in particular to be careful who they seek help from and keep relationship with, saying “we live in a very wicked world. This is why God allowed people like me to be born. I hate oppression with passion. I just like to see people free. I don’t care what your status and background is, as long as you’re in bondage, you’re the reason I'm born"

Man apprehended for raping his 13-year-old sister-in-law

A man has been arrested for allegedly raping his wife's younger sister in Ogun state. Kingsley Chigbo, 35, reportedly molested the 13-year-old relative at Ijoko town, Ogun state. Chigbo's crime was exposed following an enlightenment talk given by the Child Protection Network, CPN, to students of Bannis College, Ijoko Ota.
After the talk, the victim approached the staff of CPN who gave the talk and informed of how her elder sister's husband has been forcefully having sex with her after which he would threaten to kill her if she told anyone. The incident was then reported to the police at Sango Ota Divisional Headquarters by Peju Osoba, the immediate past Ogun State Coordinator of Child Protection Network, CPN, and the suspect was arrested.

The police spokesperson, Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed this to Premium Times and revealed that when the suspect was confronted by the victim, he owned up to his crimes. Further investigation is being carried out after which the suspect will be charged to court.
