Ashmark: "The shocking ones are not even the bounced cheques. It's the ones that when they are coming to meet you in the house to give you money, they come with a whole camera crew. Then they will say I'm donating one million naira to you and the cameras start recording and maybe the guy's tape stops, and he says let's take that again (Laughs).

mbulela: Moving unto more important issues;
Belated congrats madam,on your anniversary.
I have always had slight doubts on your gender.
You have such a wicked and dry sense of humour that is almost masculine in writing.
That paparazzi moment put my doubts to rest.
Happy anniversary and may the lines fall ever more pleasantly for you and yours in this new year.
When AIG is shopping for new advisers to the CBN governor,May he find you grin
If nothing else, you can help organize the next Mariah Carey concert for CBN end of year party for 2014
How dare you. Naijababe is a delectable lady. So delectable single/married guys on NL want to "get down low" with her. Even if it takes piling her with a lot of tipple. The fear of magun is not even enough to scare us. That's how highly sought after she is.

She's so pretty and beautiful guys have exhausted all their pick-up lines on her yet no *******. She's that stingy, if you know what I mean. wink wink wink

Afam4eva: Frankfurt has that title.
Most people don't even know what Frankfurt's stock exchange is called. London bridges the gap between America and Asia. It overlaps the two continents (America and Asia). The city starts trading before they close in Asian countries and it's still always there when they open for trading in America.

Moreover, the number of finance institutions headquartered in London makes it the financial capital of the world.
PoliticsRe: Tony Elumelu - The Next CBN Governor by Olaone1: 10:22am On Dec 29, 2013
Afam4eva: How can London be the financial capital of the world when it's not even the financial capital of Europe. Frankfurt has that title. I think you meant to say Commercial but even that title belongs to new York and deep down you're aware of that.

@topic
I think the best should be appointed devoid of tribal sentiments.
Kai! Afam is in here again.

BTW, you are wrong, Afam. It's glaring that you have little or no knowledge about the subject matter.

I reckon you are a geek.

London is the financial capital of the world. Fact!

mikeansy: so why are you comparing a cabinet member in one country to the reserve bank chairman in another country?

compare Sanusi to Mervin King or Carney lets see how he measures up?
No energy for back and forth tonight, abeg. Show me the said comparison. I posted the profiles of people who were/are economic policy formulators without degrees in economics.

Abeg, free me.

naijaking1: Not sure if you alluded to working for intercontinental or not. But the issue is simple. What was Intercontinental before Akingbola? How much was it worth, the stocks, and how many employees, I mean able bodied Nigerian men and women who make a living off the bank?
All these did not matter, because there was a petty personal agenda by Sanusi to destroy what he didn't build with allegations, more allegation, and he even convinced some well meaning Nigerians like yourself that he should be trusted. He claimed unimaginable crimes, coined phrases like round-tripping all in an attempt to neutralize what Akingbola built.
It will take years to fully unfold the damages done to our financial system by Sanusi. The Akingbolas, the Okadas, and Ubongs of this attacks were nothing but innocent bystanders of system gone horribly wrong.
I understand you bro but these guys aren't innocent

Pain: For all those blowing “hot air” please note that a background in Economics is not a guarantee or pre-requisite for a successful tenure as a Governor of the Central Bank.

It is worthy of note that longest serving Chairman of US Federal reserve, William Mc Chesney Martin (1951-1970), who had a sterling tenure of two decades serving under five US presidents had his first degree in English & Latin. He pursued graduate study in economics at Columbia University from 1931 to 1937; however, he did not receive a degree.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_McChesney_Martin,_Jr.

In fact several Chairmen of the Federal Reserve were Lawyers by Profession before being appointed. The same applies to past Governors of the Bank of England

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robin_Leigh-Pemberton,_Baron_Kingsdown
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gordon_Richardson,_Baron_Richardson_of_Duntisbourne

So quit trying to table your arguments on "Professorial" locus because we all know how far the so called bastions of intellectual glory have taken us. NOI comes to mind in this instance.
I have always said this: Gordon Brown who was a Chancellor of the Exchequer in Britain didn't study Economics. He's widely respected in the same field because of his stellar performance in Britain.

More importantly, Christiane Largade, the woman in charge of the IMF didn't study economics at any level. She was also the minister of finance in France.

Nigerians or should I say NLanders need to grow up.
