@Flynbird - I believe you can get a Driver's License without having the SSN, i went to the Driver's license office with my i20, passport and a proof of residence (you can get this if you have someone who has stayed in the state for more than a year, and who is ready to help you sign on the form. All they need to take along is some kind of proof e.g Lease agreement, Electricity or Water bill)

They looked up my Information on DHS website, i paid $25 application fee, took the online test last week, passed and will be going for the road test tomorrow. I showed them my Nigerian driver's license and so i do not need to get the learner's permit first because i've been driving before now.

If you have not been driving before now, what they will give you at first is the Learner's permit.

Note that each state has different laws governing obtaining the driver's license, the above info might only work in Texas where i stay.

Yvete and Mamacita, you guys should just let this matter rest... You should know there are different types of people on nairaland.
