grin grin grin grin grin nooooooooooooooooo my sista, i think they all really need increased personnels especailly engrs becos of the govt local content policy.
i work in an oil servicing coy now, b4 any of them can fet a job with shell, chevron, elf mobil etc, they have to conform with the policy or else they will not get the job. this is to help the indigenous oil firms to survive.
like saipem just got a job with elf they need 2000 engrs to execute the job, so also schlum.
i forsee baker hughes had prob with the recuitment becos they didnt specify that they want 2.1 minimum.
u can imagine u have a apace to fill and u put advert in guardian- i bet u , u will have close to 2 million applications in 2 weeks, and many of them dont much staffs in HR dept to handle such, so they prefer to give it out to consulting firms.
lets wait, i know they will come out soon

Jobs/VacanciesRe: Re: Test At Total by olasheni(m): 9:08am On Apr 19, 2006
Dear All

Well for the test, its in 2 parts

1 is the aptitude test, and the other is the technical test.

The aptitude test entails numerical analysis and verbal reasoning.

For the aptitude test, u can get similar practise question from www.shl.com- the test is patented from them

You need to be fast- the numerical is 20 min for 20 questions, the verbal reasoning also is 32question 18mins, so u need speed.

Then the technical question is in 2 stages

Stage 1- is physics, chem. And maths- that O level, so go dust yr okeke and ababio.

Stage 2 is the professional aspect- for ex if u applied as a pet engr you will have to answer 100 questions on all aspect of petroleum engr, from geology – reservoir engr-calculations , so get down to read.

And don’t 4get to study all yr units conversions , its also very important

I think you will have less than 2hours to battle that.

Much more pray 4 directional reading.

Elf is very strict with their test, and once u don’t pass, just 4get it even if yr father is the MD.

Wishing u all the best.

Jobs/VacanciesRe: Oceanic And Diamond Bank Test by olasheni(m): 4:53pm On Apr 03, 2006
hey buddy,
diamond bank test is one kind that is strange. 1stly its too commercial, u have to learn how to calculate profit after tax stuff and also how share appreciates after some years, most annoyingly no use of calculator and the time is short grin
I really dont enjoy it sha, sinec am an engineer, no current afairs o, and there critical reasoning is ok, but not straight forward.
Most importantly again if you are not IBO, dont waste your time , diamond bank is heavily tribalised that the last test in august that i sat for , had 1600 of us they took 55, 50 of which are igbo, just eat very well b4 u leave home they are not organised , the test ran to 10pm that day , and the results came out 7.30am the following day, can u beat that ?
dont wanna scare u much ,
best wishes
