VisaOfficer:
Good morning,

We appreciate your questions on the immigrant visa process in this forum and understand that questions will arise. We also recognize that the process can be stressful. However, please refrain from asking the same question multiple times. VO cannot check the forum every day. We do our best to answer the questions as quickly and as thoroughly as possible. Repeat questions will be removed from the forum.

Similarly, please refrain from using this forum for questions related to B1/B2 visas, F1 student visas, and other nonimmigrant visa classes. There are separate forums for these questions.

Regards,
VO

Thanks for the response, but please I still need further clarification on marriage certificate, in case of the original certificate submitted to NVC? And also please, would the original documents submitted to NVC being given back to the petitioner on interview day? Thanks once more

VisaOfficer:

Good afternoon,

The police certificate should still be acceptable. However, the consulate requires that you submit an original police certificate with fingerprint card. If you have sent it to NVC, you will need to apply for a new police certificate and submit the original at the time of your interview. I hope this is helpful.

Regards,
VO

Many thanks and appreciation to VO for prompt and apt answers to various questions raised so far,my questions are:
1) does the police clearance certificate still valid even after the month stated in it has elapsed before going for interview because the police certificate gotten have 3month on it?

2) in case of lost(police certificate) should the fellow do another one or bring court affidavit regarding to the lost of it because he has submitted a scan copy of the certificate to NVC?

I hope my questions are cleared enough!! Thanks for usual prompt response

I think the best way for the volunteers is to create a single platform if possible and get information on what's happening to each volunteers. And I would like to say that kwara is yet to collect both month and rumors has it that the state government is planning on deducting 5k on each person even though I don't subscribe to that, but as we always know,no rumour without iota of truth !!! Maybe we can create a group of Facebook or even here to help one another against any form of marginalization from both federal and state government

VisaOfficer:

All intending immigrants must present a medical report from one of our panel physicians (not from any registered government hospital). The medical report is only valid for at most six months, so you shouldn't have your medical examination until close to your interview date. (Your visa's validity reflects the validity of your medical report.)

The evidence of support is your fiancée's Affidavit of Support (the I-134). The tax returns will also be your fiancée's.

Hope this helps!
it does greatly... thanks and God bless

Once we receive your petition from NVC, we'll contact you and give you instructions for scheduling an interview date. I think there are interviews available a month out -- and people do cancel their appointments, so often you can get an earlier date than it first appears.

The "everything you need to know" handout for fiancé(e) visas is available at http://photos.state.gov/libraries/nigeria/487468/pdfs/Interview_Prep_Packet_K1-K3_SEP14.pdf .

thanks so much for this prompt reply, appreciates it a lot. but pls,i need some clarification on what i read so far, firstly is '' Medical Examination: Arrange for a medical examination by one of the panel
physicians listed in the separately enclosed leaflet. Please note that there is a charge for
the examination. '' please help in explaining this, because i thought this has to do with any registered government hospital's?, secondly,'' Evidence of Support: Obtain evidence to show that you (and your children, if
any, who will accompany you) are not likely to become a public charge while in
the United States.'' does this have to do with my fiancee evidence of support?, thirdly,'' Tax returns for the past 3-4 years'' mine or her own? thanks for such great reply.. hope i didn't ask too much questions?!!! thanks as always in anticipation of your reply
