You even mentioned civilised countries like you have ever left Nigeria. The US Police Department whether state or federal cannot just arrest a soldier in active service without the cooperation of his commanding post. It can only happen if he is caught committing a a civilian crime off duty and without uniform even at that, his commanding post must be alerted immediately for their cooperation. These are contained in military law enforcement such as: U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Division (CID), Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS), Air Force Office of Special Investigations (OSI)

I think he is too crude and lacks tact but at a time when a rumoured coup was supposedly nipped in the bud, the Navy should not be seen to be answering to the demands of a retired official. Who is it that received that order and acted on it? Was this order carried out with the knowledge of the Chief of naval staff? If yes, that's condemnable. If no, then it calls into question his fitness for the job.

Heads need to roll for this. Wike needs to be sacked as well. He could have handled the matter better instead of embarrassing the president.

Most of your questions were asked out of sheer ignorance, but that's fine. However, the questions are not devoid of sentiments.

For information sake, only the Chief in Command can give order to counter the order given by a most senior officer. Even the vice president cannot try it unless sworn in to take the place of the C in C in a case of his absence. The naval officer was acting under a command, Wike should have contacted the one who gave him the order. He himself cannot order the soldier off that property. Only the one who gave the order in the 1st place, the Chief of staff, or the president can order him out of that property.


Lastly, the loyalty of any soldiers lies with NOT the presidency, but to the service of his country, and the president himself who is the GCON. The Chief in Command role of this position cannot be delegated. Not even to the VP. The FCT minister like other ministers is just an office holder under the president's cabinet. He cannot give or counter a military order.

To answer your question 1 nd 2, the property belongs to a 3 star General who retired as a naval chief. Q2, upon retirement, a certain number of officers of different ranks and other staff are assigned to him until his death. What he does with the officers can only be answered by him alone. As a 3 star general, even in retirement, he remains a general and must be accorded the respect. The Armed Forces Act (Cap A20 LFN 2004) and established military traditions in Nigeria support this claim.

The Nigerian Police Force (NPF) and the Nigerian Armed Forces (Army, Navy, Air Force) operate under different laws and chains of command:

The Police are governed by the Police Act (2020) and fall under the Ministry of Police Affairs.

Soldiers are governed by the Armed Forces Act and fall under the Ministry of Defence. As such, officers of the NPF cannot arrest a soldier who is still in active service because soldiers are subject to military law, only military authorities (through the Provost Marshal or superior officers) have the direct power to arrest and discipline them for offences, especially those committed in the line of duty.

Good morning, thank you so much for your support and your professional advice. Though I may not be able to give you battery life in term of percentage, I can guarantee that the battery performance is still okay.
However, if replacing the battery will get the issue fixed, I'll explore the option. My only concern is that what have in the market are fake batteries.

Though the screen has been once replaced, that was long before this issue started. I gave it to a phone repairer in Ikeja after every attempt to make it work failed. The first time this happened, the guy opened the back glass and did one or before the phone came back on. He's been trying the same thing ever since, but the phone has refused to load past that MI page .
The rubber band was used to hold the back glass in place so it doesn't fall of.
