Harpesin: In addition to my previous, BRF should made same kind of law for those who commit crime in the office and govt houses....Most of the havoc on the road are caused by Danfo drivers and once LASTMA tow them, they charge them particular amount and let them go aftermath why not same thing to Okadas, to purchase one Okada now is over hundred thousand naira. I witnessed one around Ojo barracks where new Okada was collected from a young boy who was unable to settle dem with 5k as demanded and the bike was taken to Alausa which he was unable to recover it due to new law....Tell me what Govt had put in place for this young man to start with all over again, he manage to help the government by doing something on his own to contribute to the progress of the state directly or indirectly but later end up having nothing to earn him a good living....Am sure he who raised money to purchase a bike for commercial purpose has a good intention for himsef and for the state, he did not want to become a burden / terrorist to the state that was why he struggled to get himself busy. Let someone tell me here what should to those Police/Army Officer using their own bike for commercial purpose late in the night and on the restricted area? Now i can see democracy in Nigeria as the government of the rich for the rich and by the rich at the expense of the poor.......How poor Masses are surviving are unconcerned to our govt, they build market with our tax and sold it for their wives / relation, they have increase NEPA bill 300% and we are still not complaining, Fuel are not available as they promised, no security, no loan as they promised, the little we kept in the bank are bn lend to the rich, they keep disturbing our women in their local shop to pay TRADE PERMIT as if they are the one that open trade for dem, TENANMENT RATE, TV/RADIO charges, Antenna, etc...and you can never see a single development in the community......WHAT EXACTLY ARE YOU ENJOYING FROM THE GOVT.?....

All am saying is that we have a i am living in city mentality without any inpact.

I know that half of this peaple came from places that they can be appreciated interm of farming, local industries and craft. Imagine somebody that come from benue to do okada in lagos, he can use the okada to money to set up garri proccessing factory, a man from ogun state can do the same, a man from eboyin can do rice a man from osun can do craft etc.

Why don't fashola take this bike from them and offer them money and see them off lagos land to do other business in their state??this money is their. They sign stupid budget everyday to enrich their pockets.

sentix: Why cant fashola finish the Blue and Red Railway line and see how people will automatically start taking the trains instead of Okadas. Most poeple take okada to avoid traffic Rail lines dont have any traffic. Maryland to Ido will be like 30 minutes!

Kabikala: Lagos State did not ban Okada. They only limited their areas and times of operation which makes sense in a city like Lagos. You only need to visit an Orthopaedic Ward in major Nigerian cities to know the number of lives that have been ruined by Okada. I support Lagos State in stopping Okada riders from plying major roads and operating at night.

Its not just major roads. Its on every road and none could work yesterday. Vans are on ground packing bike.they are saying abt 500 but its not soo. Its like total banned.

omosexy1: My Opinion - I think Okada should be outrightly banned from Lagos. We have many mad persons riding these motorcycles in the city. They don't obey traffic laws, many don't have licenses, some engage in criminal activities. The recent restriction placed on them has revealed the mental capacity of these thugs. Yet, people continue to patronise them and trust them with their lives. On several occasions, I have had to apply caution not to knock down okada riders and passengers on express roads who deliberately choose to ply one-way. Honestly, the State Govt cannot curb these okada menace rather an outright ban is the best way about it. When people cry foul that the crime rate will increase, it then shows that okada riders are the criminals in Lagos. I choose not to believe this, criminals would be criminals (like the ones demolishing and burning social facilities in the state) and those who are not criminals will adjust to other occupations. We should consider our safety first. You put your life at risk by hopping on an okada regardless of the distance of your trip, you put your trust on a total stranger - his driving skills you are yet to ascertain, you increase your chances of being hospitalised because the chances of safety during a collusion is very low with okadas. THINK SAFETY, DESIST FROM USING OKADAS. THERE ARE OTHER MODES OF ROAD TRANSPORT THAT CAN GET YOU TO YOUR LOCATION.

What other means of transportation has been put in place and job creation for those who will be jobless at this action?
I support the banned from the major highways and not about 500 roads that's way too much. Which you will see people suffering for lack of means of transport yesterday Monday. Their are ways they can do checks and certified that some okada raiders are certified to ride. Not only the Okada riders are going jobless but also those who sell ticket and others who survive by this. The rate of crime is going to be high if law is not well checked before implemented. Their is air risk. Motor risk,water risk and if their is bike risk what are the ways to limit it and before u raise a banned u create other means.
