Senator Ibikunle Amosun, the governor of the state has today, however, responded to the comment of Sen Babafemi Ojudu, by showing what his government has done so far to the building in question and other materials used by the late parents of the great Afro beat musician, Fela Anikulapo, when they were alive. In his response, while appearing on the state's Television station, Ogtv, the governor said it is clear Senator Ojodu was not a resident of the state, he is just a passerby, who has made up his mind to discredit the great work of his government. "Clearly, he just wanted to write something for a hatchet job, If he had cared to take a good look he would have seen a befitting job we did here. This is one of the projects we are showcasing for the drum festival. Professor Wole Soyinka, among other dignitaries have seen it and people are already passing accolades."

Few days ago, Sen Babafemi Ojudu, a Special Adviser to the President on political matters, dropped a piece on his observations on the condition of Fela's family house at Nepa Road, Imo, Abeokuta, Ogun State. In the piece he challenged the great men and women that were Abeokuta born and, especially the present government of Senator Ibikunle Amosun, on why such a national monumental edifice like that of Fela's family should be left unattended to for many years. He reported that on the eve of the 2019 gubernatorial election in the state, while he was in the company of the Vice president Prof. Yemi Osinbajo touring the city of Abeokuta he saw the house left to itself, as if it did not house many great men, who birthed other great generations. He wrote, "There in Ake lies a national monument that could have attracted people wanting to learn about the advent of Christianity in Nigeria; those who want to know how the battle for women suffrage was fought and the power that abounds in our women to foment change in society; those who want to learn the history of the National Union Of Teachers; those who want to know about a strong and powerful member of a committee that helped brought about the first university in Nigeria; those who want to know and learn about service, real, genuine and undiluted service to ones nation; those who want to learn about social political struggle and commitment. Above all there is so much inspiration to be derived from this house by musicians and aficionados of music all over the world."
