Cassava cuttings in 5 feets will be okkk. I ll contact you on WhatsApp, soon. Can I get more than 200 bundles? |
You might probably get an acre of land for less that N100k somewhere after Odeda town, before Kiila |
Challenges includes: weeds, Fulani and their cows, infertile land due to intercropping with wrong plants, Sucker uprooting and pilferage (stealing of plantain bunches), violent wind, drought during dry season, Omo onile ......... on a more serious note, prepare to deal with the ever fast growing weeds. |
I smell 3 acres of land with a thousand suckers per acre, everything summing up to 3000 stands of plantain |
stop directing people to a Chinese webpage. Una no get address? |

Clapping for some Nairaland internet farmers response!! A bunch of bananas cost about N300 naira here in a mrk at Erunmu, Ibadan while a bunch of plantain goes btw N700 - 1500 depending on its finger sizes. Even a bunch purchased in d mnth of Sep along Gbongan-Osogbo express rd was N1000 despite the truth that they produce fruts in excess around that area. It depends, they eat lots of bananas in the east unlike in Southwest, do your home work thoroughly before u commence planting and remember to intercrop with maize/melon/soya beans/potatoes inorder to save cost on monthly weeding. Plantain/banana plantation isn't a cheap and quick buz. |
good night Pa. Mugabe. Who is now in charge of the country. The resignation letter doesnt include any name. Power gap! |
My fear: old wine about to be poured into a new bottle". It is still the same sets of people that worked with Mugabe. Take Egypt, Libya, Yemen as a case study; Peace eluded them after the emergency exit of their leaders. From frying pan to fire scenario. |
Finally. Let the arrest begins. |

Željava Air Base – Europe’s Largest Abandoned Underground Military Airbase Unbelievable Facts Mar 21, 2017 In the decade between 1991 and 2001, the Yugoslav state had undergone several ethnic wars resulting in the breaking up of the state. During that time, an underground air base known as Željava Air Base was used for aerial support. The air base was constructed for almost $6 billion and was considered the most expensive project in Europe only to be destroyed deliberately to prevent the enemy from using it. It has tunnels large enough to house squadrons of aircraft along with personnel and supplies for over a month. Now it is the largest abandoned military air base in Europe and here is more information about it. Located on the border between Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina, under Plješevica Mountain, the Željava Air Base was the largest underground military airbase in the former Yugoslavia, and also one of the largest in Europe. Image Source: atlasobscura One of the entrances to the base. Image credit: Thomas Windisch/ Exclusivepix Media Construction of the airbase, also known as Bihać Air Base and code-named Objekat 505 , began in 1948 and finished in 1968. It cost approximately a whopping $6 billion, three times the annual military budgets of Serbia and Croatia combined, and was one of the most expensive construction projects in Europe. Image Source: wikipedia The function of the airbase was to facilitate a nationwide early warning radar network in the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (SFRY). Its radar on Mount Pljesevica, located at the center of an advanced air defense network, covered the airspace and territory of Yugoslavia and more. Image Source: geocaching It had five runways, numerous short-range mobile tracking and targeting radars, missile sites, mobile missile interceptor systems, motorized infantry bases, two fighter jets always on alert, military police stations and even a hunting lodge for civilian or military leaders to use during leisure. Though the access points were heavily guarded with orders to kill any trespasser, in practice, they were just turned away. Image Source: wikimedia Image credit: Thomas Windisch/ Exclusivepix Media The base is so secure that it could withstand a direct hit from a twenty kiloton nuclear bomb, similar to the one dropped on Nagasaki. Image Source: wikipedia The airbase has underground tunnels which housed two fighter aviation squadrons equipped with MiG-21bis fighter aircraft, one reconnaissance squadron with MiG-21R aircraft and all the maintenance facilities required for them. Image Source: wikipedia The tunnels are a total of 3.5 kilometers long with four entrances protected by 100-ton pressurized doors. They were lined with semicircular concrete shields to cushion the impact of any bombs. Image Source: wikipedia The facility is also equipped with water supply, power generators, crew quarters and strategic military facilities. There was also a mess hall that can feed 1,000 people at once along with enough food, fuel (supplied by a twenty-kilometer underground pipe network) and weapons to last thirty days. Image Source: wikipedia The airbase was used extensively in 1991 during the Yugoslavian wars. The runways were later destroyed by the Yugoslavian People’s Army, and the facility was completely destroyed by the Military of Serbian Krajina in 1992 to prevent opposing forces from using it. Image Source: wikipedia The Yugoslavian People’s Army during its withdrawal placed explosives in pre-built spaces which were explicitly designed for the purpose of destroying the runways. The Military of Serbian Krajina used fifty-six tons of explosives to destroy the facility. The explosion was so powerful that it shook Bihać, a nearby city, and according to the villagers, the smoke rose from the site for six months. It also caused considerable damage to the surrounding environment. Image credit: Thomas Windisch/ Exclusivepix Media The facility is heavily mined and is now being used as a training facility for dogs to detect mines. It also serves as a waypoint for migrants. Image Source: wikipedia There were several attempts at reconstructing the facility but all were canceled due to financial limitations. An asylum for migrants was scheduled to open in 2004 or 2005, but the idea was eventually dropped. It was also to be developed to become a part of the Slunj Military Training Grounds and the barracks at the Udbina Complex, but these plans were also abandoned because of an agreement forbidding any military facility closer than fifteen kilometers on the border between Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina. HIV-prevention ring trial a success among US teensBy James GallagherHealth and science reporter, BBC News, Paris25 July 2017HealthA vaginal ring to prevent HIV infection is popular with teenage girls, US scientists say.Women and girls aged 15-24 account for a fifth of all newHIV infections globally. Nearly 1,000 are infected every day in sub-Saharan Africa.Infused with microbicides, the ring, which sits on the cervix, has beenshown to cut infections by 56%.Experts say it frees women from relying on men to wear condoms and allows them to protect themselves confidentially.Dr Anthony Fauci, the director of the US National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, told the BBC:"If you can give women the opportunity to protect themselves in a way that is completely confidential - that'sa long and big step to helping them."In societies where women are, unfortunately but true, somewhat second-class citizens, that makes women extremely vulnerable to getting infected with HIV."The flexible ring, similar in size to the contraceptive diaphragm, releases an antiretroviral drug called dapivirine for a month. But scientists were unsure it would work in teenagers, who can be notoriously difficult when it comes to health advice. The six-month US trial gave the ring to 96 sexually activegirls aged 15 to 17, who had not used it before.Data presented at the IAS Conference on HIV Science, showed:*.87% of the girls had detectable levels of the drug in their vagina*.95% said the ring was easy to use*.74% said they did not notice the ring in day-to-day lifeThere were some concerns before the trial that the girls' partners would not like the feel of the ring, but it reportedly enhanced pleasure.*.Drugs cocktail 'cut HIV deaths by 27%'*.Injections ‘next revolution’ in HIV*.Hunt for HIV cure turns to cancer drugs*.Aids deaths halve as more get drugsProf Sharon Hillier, one of the researchers at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, said: "HIV doesn't distinguish between a 16-year-old and an 18-year-old."Access to safe and effective HIV prevention shouldn't either, young women of all ages deserve to be protected."There are now plans to test the ring with teenagers in Africa. If the ring gets regulatory approval, it would be the first method of prevention exclusively for women. http://www.bbc.com/news/health-40715295 https://ichef.bbci.co.uk/news/320/cpsprodpb/6B04/production/_97069372_vaginalring.jpg Source: By James GallagherHealth and science reporter, BBC News, Paris 25th July, 2017

An Anambra State High Court sitting in Onitsha on Tuesday jailed the Manager and Marketing Manager of the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company Onitsha district for three months over crazy bills. The duo were dragged to court by the leaders of the Iweka Electronic Amalgamated Traders Association, Onitsha for disconnecting their electricity supply after the company had given N2m estimatedbill to the traders. The traders rejected the bill and sued the defendants/respondents over the defendantsattempt to force the traders to pay disputed electricity bills. After oral submissions of both counsel on May 23, 2016, the court made an interim order of injunction wherein parties were asked to maintain status quo.It was gathered that despite the pendency ofthe interim order, the EEDC officials went and disconnected the traders’ lines.Delivering judgment against the EEDC managers, Justice Ike Obu described the EEDC managers act as crass of impunity. He convicted the duo for three months without the option of fine for their actions. The Judge said the defendant should have obeyed the court order pending the hearing of the motion on notice. The judge said, “You are hereby committed to prison for three months until you purged yourselves of the contempt.”The development erupted jubilation at the Iweka Electronic market as the traders went to streets singing and dancing. The Chairman of the market, Mr. Ndubuisi Egotanwa in his reaction commended the court for giving the ruling.Egotanwa said the EEDC workers had wielded so much powers in the area and “thought that no person, group of persons or even the court cannot stop them from their illegal disconnection and crazy bills”.
