Wike vs His Ambition

I read that Fubara has traveled to France to meet with Tinubu. Good. But I doubt if there will be a public showdown between the presidency and Wike.

Tinubu may not speak publicly about the Rivers crisis again because he is not someone who talks a lot unlike the parrot in Rivers, who boasts and issues threats over every move he makes.

Tinubu went out of his way to intervene once and took sides with Wike suspending the governor for 6 months, yet Wike is still attempting to disrupt events and cause endless chaos.

Tinubu understands something critical that if Wike, who is neither president nor someone with Tinubu’s political structure or reach, succeeds in impeaching Fubara, he will become larger than life, and with access to the Rivers treasury, Wike could amass enormous power and eventually pose a threat to Tinubu himself.

We saw a glimpse of this in 2023, when Wike bought off PDP delegates, until those who understood the political chessboard countered him by merging Atiku and Tambuwal’s delegates for Atiku. Tinubu witnessed all of this and knows exactly the kind of political force Wike can become when backed by money.

For this reason, Tinubu will maintain his silence, but he will cut Wike down to size by ensuring he no longer has easy access to funds. At the federal level, Wike no longer controls money the way he once did. What remains is access to Rivers' treasury, because if he loses that, his ambition to be VP or President is dead. So, this is about survival for Wike. And he will rather die than have what will buy him power taken away from him.

The Rivers crisis is about one man's ambition to control Rivers and forcefully be your VP or President in the future. Wike should be resisted.

If Tinubu really has sense , he must firstly sack Wike immediately.

And the Nigerian Military is sitting and watching this gross show of shame without intervening ! The “democracy” we claim to practice is practically bastardized.

The situation in Yemen is essentially like this:

Before 1990, there were two countries called Yemen:

1. The Yemen Arab Republic (YAR), also called North Yemen, which had its capital at Sana'a.


2. The People's Democratic Republic of Yemen (PDRY), also called South Yemen, with its capital at Aden.

These two states officially unified to form the current Republic of Yemen on May 22, 1990.

A separatist group called the Southern Transitional Council (STC) was created in Yemen on May 11, 2017 because the people of Southern Yemen no longer wish to be in a united Yemen and they want to go back to the independent status they enjoyed before the United Republic of Yemen was created in 1990.

To further complicate matters, you have a religious dimension with the Houthi Rebels who are Shiites.

Most Yemenis are Sunni Muslims, however there is a significant Shiite minority population led by the Houthis who are backed by Iran which is the largest and most powerful Shiite country in the world.

The Houthis are essentially fighting a Holy War against Sunni Muslims in Yemen in order to impose Shiite Islam on them, something which the Saudis who are staunch Sunnis have vowed will never happen.

So Saudi Arabia is essentially fighting on 4 opposing fronts:

They're fighting against the STC separatists;

They're fighting against the UAE who are backing the STC separatists;

They're fighting against the Houthi Shiite Rebels; and

They're engaged in a cold war with Iran who is backing the Houthi rebels.

Iran will probably want to drag its other regional puppet, Hezbolla into the conflict and things could get very messy, very quickly.

2026 is shaping up to be a frightening year for the Middle East with the way things are going.

If INEC does not recognize the 2024 convention that returned Abure - and rightly so- that automatically means Nenadi Usman led NWC should be the only recognized Labour Party , so what then is the problem as which Labour Party is the genuine party?

Gradually every state is preparing for state police.

State policing is the way forward but the fear of it being used by governors as a political power against the opposition is my greatest fear.

State Police is a good initiative but must work alongside the regular Nigeria Police Force.After like 40 to 50 years and the performance is up to par , the Nigeria Police can then be decommissioned.Adopting only State Police all by itself will be catastrophic.Nigeria may not even recover from it.

If she just gave birth , it means she got pregnant around February or March this year.That means she got pregnant about a year and 5 /6 months after Mohbad death.There is nothing wrong with that.Ahea a young woman and she’s in her prime.This is the time for her to have children and raise them.The coroner inquest and Police investigation have both absolved her of any wrongdoing/ involvement in Mohbad death.Haters should please leave that young lady alone.
