Politics / Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar To Create Thousands Of Jobs For Nigerians by olubitv(m): 11:22am On May 21, 2016
Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar on Friday announced that he would establish an animal feeds factory in Abuja as part of his contribution towards boosting employment in the country.

In a statement released to newsmen in Abuja by his Head of Media, Paul Ibe, Atiku said arrangement for the take-off of the factory was at an advanced stage.

Mr. Ibe said the factory would complement Federal Government’s efforts at creating more jobs.

According to the statement, the factory called Rico Gardo, when operational, will produce animal feeds of various types, including for cattle, small ruminants, horse and poultry.

It said that Rico Gardo was already existing in Adamawa State and would ”provide thousands of direct and indirect jobs’’.
”It will also conserve scarce foreign exchange for the country by providing high quality made-in-Nigeria animal feed for the nation’s livestock sector.

”Based on the success and impact of the Numan factory, the Abuja factory when operational, will play a significant role in providing feed for millions of cattle that presently roam the country in search of pasture,” it said.

It stated that the company was jointly owned by Atiku and Rico Gardo, and specialised in livestock feeds production and distribution throughout Europe and the Middle-East.

The statement said that presently, the factory catered for animal food supplement needs in Adamawa, the North-East and beyond.

According to it, when produced in abundance, the supplement will aid the plan of the Federal Government to limit and control the movement of cattle through the provision of ranches in selected locations across the country. - See more at: http://www.nigerianspolitics.com/2016/05/former-vice-president-atiku-abubakar-to.html#sthash.uCwkvQ2F.dpuf

Politics / BREAKING NEWS!!! “release Kanu In Seven Days Or Nigeria Sinks” – Militants by olubitv(m): 10:52am On May 19, 2016
Ateke tom
YENAGOA- A new militant group, Red Egbesu Water Lions, has surfaced in the Niger Delta region, just as suspected militants, Tuesday night, blew up the Sagbama-Tuomo gas line, belonging to Nigerian Agip Oil Company, NAOC, at Egbembiri, Southern Ijaw local government area of Bayelsa State .
A security source, who confirmed the explosion, said: “Egbembiri is a border town between Bayelsa and Delta states. They destroyed the Ayama section of the Ogboinbiri-Tuomo gas pipeline with dynamites at about 9.00 pm on Tuesday.

That line was earlier repaired, last week and again vandalized.” “We, however, suspect that dispute over the surveillance contract led to the attack. The Agip pipeline links major oil facilities in Delta and Bayelsa States,” he added.
The new militant group in a statement by its Creek Network Coordinator, “General” Torunanawei Latei, said it was teaming up with the Niger Delta Avengers and Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.

“It issued the Federal Government a seven-day ultimatum to release Nnamdi Kanu, former

National Security Adviser, NSA, Sambo Dasuki and direct EFCC to defreeze the bank accounts of ex-militant leader, Government Ekpemupol, alias Tompolo,
Threatening to shut down all oil exploration activities in the Niger Delta at the expiration of the ultimatum, the group also demanded “unconditional immediate payment to victims of the Bonga Oil Spill and Chevron gas explosion in Koluama, Bayelsa state.”
“It is extremely important to note that the engine room of the national interest is the executive obedience to court orders, protection and preservation of citizens’ constitutional liberties. Justification of executive disobedience to court orders as a protection of national interest is abominable.
“This is a deliberate ploy to bend the law and suspend the 1999 Constitution. We ask, does President Muhammadu Buhari have any legal capacity to declare anyone as a criminal? Disobedience to court orders is an act of executive rascality in the country,” the group added.

Politics / "This Is Not Change, But Chain" - Bishop Stages Solo Protest Against Fuel Price by olubitv(m): 10:25am On May 17, 2016
The Bishop of Sufficient Grace and Truth Ministry, Seun Adeoye, has embarked on a one-man protest, dressed in full regalia of his office, to register his rejection of the recent deregulation policy of the Federal Government which has jacked up the price of fuel to N145 per litre.

Hanging on himself a placard bearing the inscription “N145 per litre: This is not change but chain,” he threatened to trek from Osogbo, the Osun capital, to Abuja to protest against the policy if the Federal Government refused to reverse the decision.

Adeoye, who used to be the Chairman of the Osun State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, began the protest in front of the Osun State Government House, Okefia around 10am and marched to the popular Olaiya Junction where he addressed reporters.

According to him, “This is not the change they promised the people. At most it should be N95 per litre. This price is too much, many Nigerians are dying because they cannot feed and do other necessary things like buying drugs and all that. Things are very bad and this hike would worsen it.

“There is hike in electricity tariff; things are very expensive and the salaries have remained the same despite this. Churches are distributing food and other items to members every day. Nigerians have been turned to beggars.

“Most of those who are supporting the policy are doing so because they can afford to buy a litre of fuel even for N1000. But we have to think of the majority of the people whose standard of living are seriously affected.”

Politics / I Will Send Niger Delta Avengers Totheir Grave As They Demand – Buhari by olubitv(m): 9:40am On May 17, 2016
President Muhammadu Buhari has reiterated his resolve to deal
with those involved in blowing up oil installations in the Niger Delta
region.
Assuring that such persons and their sponsors will be punished,
Buhari disclosed that he had ordered service chiefs to get the
perpetrators.

Buhari, who spoke on the sideline of his London meeting, said:
“What I know is that I was elected by the whole country and the
least I can do is to keep the country together somehow. I assure you
we will develop the capacity to do it.
“If you can recall, I appointed a retired Brigadier General (Boroh).
When I give people assignment, I develop terms of reference for
them and I allow them to do their work. I understand the problem.
“I spoke with the Chief of Naval Staff and other service chiefs to
work with him and help him to make sure that those who are
blowing the installations, sabotaging investments in Nigeria, we will
deal with them eventually.”
On whether his government has reneged on the amnesty
programme, Buhari said: “They are saying that the agreement on
amnesty, including payment and training and employment were not
being met. These are their allegations.
“So we put this officer who is from there to revisit the agreement
and get them and see which part of the agreement the Federal
Government needs to fulfill.
“The fundamental thing is that we have to secure Nigeria before we
can manage it efficiently. I assure you that we are going to do that.
Try and develop confidence in our ability to do it eventually.”
