I hope the guy can come. I have some time on my hands now.
We shouldn't be blaming the British who were already stepping back from running Nigeria as at 1948 and excuse the failure of leaders we had who were too selfish and shortsighted to plan for the country they wanted to take over from the British.
both you and the other guy are making sense.with alot of point.the british should also be blame for our problem partially, the british are not God they are one of african country problem till now look at Congo, libya even somalia our present day leader might be bad but to even think about those greedy motherfvckers recolonising us is very wrong.

@Lethal234 you are right.the solution should be what we are looking for.even if APC is voted out and another party take over with this overdependence on oil it will still be the same result.

You shouldn't have insulted Jesus first.
Just because you want to make excuses for failed leadership you insulted the son of God.
Glad you feel how it is now to be insulted
kk....

Agbegbaorogboye:

Stop blaspheming the name of Jesus because you want to defend failure.
You're well within your rights to defend failure but leave Jesus out of it.
Jesus had a more difficult task of saving the wretched souls of your generations past and coming yet he succeeded.
Don't compare him to a failure
No insult, learn how to give your point without adding insult.

Nigeria is not up to 180 million.

Many areas except the big cities are scanty.

Partially true.

We truly don't know Nigeria's population to be certain.
you are right to some extent but nigeria can never be less than 180 million!

This was actually my argument when I refused to believe in change sold by APC. I knew that stopping corruption was least of our problem but people will argue .

We are unproductive as a nation

We are actually a poor country

We need a government who can turnaround our fortunes

Obviously not this analogue politicians

But how do we achieve this

With high numbers of illiteracy

Does the populace even believe we are poor

2023, debate amongst aspirants should be,

How do you raise revenue profile of the country

That way we would know who have the best plans
God bless you for this!

Even if all gorvenment cost are reduce to the barest minimum. and nigeria is corruption free, the money will still not be enough to provide basic amenities to its teeming population.

RuudVanNisteroy:

Nigeria is poor because it has had the most corrupt leaders that have ever walked the planet- simple!

Look at what Thomas Sankara did in Burkina Faso, he recognized his country was poor and cut costs of governance drastically and that is why he was taken out early.

Thomas Sankara, upon seizing power, immediately sold off the government’s fleet of Mercedes cars, replaced them with the ordinary Renault 5, which was then the cheapest car Burkina Faso. The Renault became the official service car for all government officers and ministers. Also, he reduced the salaries of all public servants, including his own, and forbade the use of government chauffeurs and 1st class airline tickets.

Worth noting, as President, he lowered his salary to $450 a month and limited his possessions to a car, four bikes, three guitars, a fridge and a broken freezer.

The British managed the country for 63 years and looted the nation, you colonised idio.t with no brain..

We had zero power stations at independence after 63 years of British rule.

We had ZERO universities after 63 years of British rule.

Kainji dam was our first power plant, commissioned in 1964 by the Tafawa Balewa administration.

At independence, 95% of Nigerians were stark village illiterates despite 63 years of British rule.

But somehow the British will transform Nigeria to heaven in 10 years in your dumb head!

Just take your rubbish slave mentality and get out of here.

lol!

Give the Dutch or British to manage the country at local, state and federal level and you won't recognize the country in ten years.
even if the country is manage by jesus with this same system will are still going to get the same result.

OP you are right.

Only ignorant Nigerians say stuff like ''America/UK/.Germany does this or that.... why can't Nigeria do the same?''

The US annual budget is 7.6 TRILLION dollars.

Uk, Germany, France etc each have annual budgets of between 2 and 3 trillion dollars.

South Africa with its population of 60 million has an annual budget of 125 billion dollars.

Nigeria with 200 million people has an annual budget of 35 billion dollars.

Nigeria is not a rich country, and even if there was zero corruption, we would still struggle to provide the basics to the population.

Our number 1 priority as a nation is economic diversification.

The oil and gas income won't cut it if we're looking to get to the next level.

Very right bro, nigeria is a very poor country and we all need to understand this. Even the 30 billion nair budget sef 40 to 50 percent we be borrow nigeria need to diversify ASAP to me oil discovery has been a curse to this nation.
