Crime › Urgent Complaint: Extortion By Officers From Ayobo Police Station, Ayobo, Lagos by olympic44(op): 5:54pm On Sep 22
*OFFICE OF THE INSPECTOR GENERAL OF POLICE*
Force Headquarters, Louis Edet House,
Shehu Shagari Way, Area 11, Garki, Abuja.
Current IGP: **Olatunji Rilwan Disu**

*NIGERIA POLICE COMPLAINT RESPONSE UNIT (CRU) *

I am writing to formally bring to your attention a deeply concerning and reoccurring cases of police misconduct I recently witnessed in the Ayobo area of Lagos. This is not a complaint born of any personal grudge or altercation, but rather a civic duty to report what I saw to appropriate authority.

During a recent visit to the area, specifically along Maigada Street close to the Ayobo roundabout, I observed a group of about three police officers openly extorting motorists. The most troubling aspect of this was the location: this act was taking place right in front of the Ayobo Police Station, not a police post, but a fully operational station.

I have seen and heard of various forms of corruption involving law enforcement, but witnessing such brazen activities unfold directly outside the station is shameful, alarming, and a severe indictment of the professionalism of the officers involved.

The situation became even more troubling days later. I saw officers, who I suspect were from the same station, mounting an illegal roadblock along the Olayemi to NNPC road — a terrible, untarred road. There, they were systematically stopping commercial motorcycle (Okada) riders and demanding N200 from each of them at every turn.

The scale of this operation became clear when my own Okada rider told me that this trip was his 28th of the day, and that he would be required to remit the "payments" collected directly to the policemen before the end of the day. This goes beyond petty bribery; it is a systemic extortion racket that preys on some of the hardest-working individuals in our society, adding a significant financial burden to their daily struggles.

This incident is sadly a reflection of a wider issue. Recent reports show that Lagos residents are increasingly voicing frustration over police conduct, citing extortion, intimidation, and harassment as common problems that erode publictrust in law enforcement .

My own experience in Ayobo is a stark example of this. The public's willingness to cooperate with the police, as encouraged by the mantra, "if you see something, say something," is severely undermined when officers behave in this manner. At the root of this issue is a clear breach of the official stance of the Lagos State Police Command, which has repeatedly stated that "bail is free" and that "extortion in any form will not be tolerated".

I want to stress that my motivation for writing is not to see any worker dismissed, which is why I refrained from taking photographic evidence for fear of being responsible for someone's livelihood. However, it is vital that proper investigation be conducted, and actions taken to restore the integrity of the force. I am confident that concerned citizens like myself will not remain silent when we encounter such acts in the future, and we will use the official channels available to report them.

I urge you to kindly look into this matter before it spirals further out of control and the public's trust in the police is irreparably damaged.

Thank you for your attention to this urgent matter.

Politics › Re: G5 Allowed Obi Win SS To Reduce Atiku's Votes, Won't Happen In 2027 - Wike by olympic44: 12:18am On Sep 22
Mr wike should stop ranting analyzing to Nigerians how they rigged their selves into power and start focusing on how he’s going to help his associates. He’s already causing division amongst the APC governors … forgetting a visitor will forever remains a visitor no matter how nosy he’s or has become in the affairs of the APC he shouldn’t be surprised he’s not going to have it as a walk over comes 2027… there won’t be massive rigging like it happened the last time the world is watching .
Politics › Why Nigeria’s Political Godfathers Fear Peter Obi. by olympic44(op): 1:00pm On Sep 02
The Disruptor:

For decades, Nigerian politics followed a strict script: powerful political godfathers met behind closed doors, picked their candidates, and used deep pockets to deliver bloc votes.

Then came the 2023 presidential election, and that script was permanently torn to shreds.

By speaking directly to the raw frustration of everyday citizens, Peter Obi didn't just compete—he shook the entire political establishment. Running without a massive traditional party machine, Obi pulled an unprecedented 6.10 million organic votes. In a shocking upset that panicked the ruling elite, he won Lagos State—the ultimate financial fortress of the status quo—as well as the Federal Capital Territory (Abuja) and key swing states across the North-Central belt.

What makes Obi an existential threat to the old guard isn't just that he wins; it’s that he shows voters how to win without the godfathers.

Former Governor Ayo Fayose recently admitted that the political class was thrown into total panic by the speed of Obi’s movement. When godfathers can no longer guarantee a win in their own backyards, their leverage disappears.
Looking ahead to 2027, this threat has only matured.
Now armed with a strategic single four-year term presidency pledge aimed at national stability, Obi is shifting the national conversation from consumption to production.
The ruling class isn’t just afraid of Peter Obi the man.

They are terrified of what he represents: a hyper-connected, determined generation of Nigerian youths who have finally realized that the godfathers only hold power when the people stay silent.

Politics › Letter Of Protest And Urgent Appeal For National Intervention In NDC EKITI-STATE by olympic44(op): 12:24pm On May 30
*30 May 2026*

*The National Secretary*
National Democratic Congress (NDC)

*Through:*
The National Organising Seccretary
National Democratic Congress (NDC)

*LETTER OF PROTEST AND URGENT APPEAL FOR NATIONAL INTERVENTION ON THE WITHHOLDING, DIVERSION, AND ALLEGED ILLEGAL SALE OF NOMINATION FORMS ALLOCATED TO EKITI STATE*

Dear Sir,

We, the undersigned candidates who emerged from the duly conducted National Democratic Congress (NDC) Primary Elections held in Ekiti State on 29 May 2026, hereby write to formally register our strongest protest and seek the immediate intervention of the National Executive Council regarding developments that threaten the integrity, credibility, and very existence of our party in Ekiti State.

This petition has become necessary following disturbing events that have occurred after the successful conduct of the party's primary elections and the subsequent denial of nomination forms to duly elected candidates.

On 29 May 2026, the National Democratic Congress conducted its Ekiti State Primary Elections for the offices of:

* President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria;
* Senate;
* House of Representatives; and
* Ekiti State House of Assembly.

The primary election was conducted by the duly recognized State Chairman of the party, *Hon. Oguntuase Funso Saka*, whose name remains officially listed on the party's website as the authentic Chairman of the National Democratic Congress in Ekiti State.

The exercise was peacefully conducted, transparent, and witnessed by officials of the *Department of State Services (DSS)*, thereby lending credibility and legitimacy to the entire process.

At the conclusion of the exercise, *His Excellency Peter Obi* emerged as the Presidential Candidate of the party, while we, the undersigned, emerged as the duly elected Senatorial, House of Representatives, and House of Assembly candidates for our respective constituencies in Ekiti State.

Following our emergence, we approached the State Chairman to obtain and purchase our nomination forms in accordance with the publicly announced party procedure, which clearly stipulates that only candidates who emerge through valid primary elections are entitled to purchase and complete nomination forms.

To our shock and disappointment, the State Chairman informed us that no nomination forms were available for the successful candidates.

Concerned by this development, we commenced inquiries and investigations which revealed information suggesting that one *Apostle Ayodele David-Adesua* may have taken possession of all nomination forms allocated to Ekiti State under circumstances that remain unclear, irregular, and highly questionable.

Even more disturbing are credible reports indicating that the said Apostle Ayodele David-Adesua is allegedly attempting to sell or has been selling nomination forms allocated to Ekiti State to the highest bidders, including persons who are neither registered members of the National Democratic Congress nor participants in the duly conducted primary elections.

We have also received information suggesting that proceeds from the sale of certain nomination forms may have been directed into personal accounts rather than officially designated party accounts. If verified, such conduct would constitute a serious violation of party procedures, financial accountability standards, and the principles upon which our party was founded.

We respectfully urge the National Executive Council to investigate these allegations thoroughly and determine:

1. How nomination forms allocated to Ekiti State came into the possession of Apostle Ayodele David-Adesua;
2. The authority under which he allegedly obtained such forms;
3. Whether any nomination forms have been sold, transferred, or issued without the knowledge or approval of the duly recognized Ekiti State Executive Committee;
4. Whether monies collected for nomination forms were paid into official party accounts or private accounts;
5. The number of forms allocated to Ekiti State and the current whereabouts of those forms.

If these allegations are established, such actions amount to:

* A direct assault on internal democracy within the party;
* A deliberate attempt to undermine the authority of the duly constituted Ekiti State Executive Committee;
* The disenfranchisement of candidates who legitimately emerged through a transparent primary election;
* A violation of the Constitution, rules, and guidelines of the National Democratic Congress;
* Conduct capable of exposing the party to legal disputes, reputational damage, and possible sanctions by electoral authorities;
* Actions capable of creating parallel candidacies and avoidable crises within the party structure in Ekiti State.

We are particularly concerned that permitting unauthorized persons to control, divert, commercialize, or withhold nomination forms meant for duly elected candidates may jeopardize the participation of legitimate NDC candidates in the 2027 General Elections and undermine public confidence in the party's commitment to fairness and transparency.

Accordingly, we respectfully request that the National Executive Council urgently:

1. Conduct an immediate investigation into the allocation, distribution, and whereabouts of all nomination forms designated for Ekiti State.
2. Immediately suspend any further sale, issuance, or processing of nomination forms relating to Ekiti State pending the outcome of the investigation.
3. Recover all nomination forms unlawfully withheld, diverted, or improperly distributed.
4. Make nomination forms immediately available to all candidates who emerged from the Ekiti State Primary Elections conducted on 29 May 2026.
5. Prevent the issuance of nomination forms to individuals who did not participate in or emerge from the duly conducted primary elections.
6. Conduct a comprehensive audit of all payments received in respect of nomination forms allocated to Ekiti State.
7. Publicly affirm the validity of the Ekiti State Primary Elections conducted under the leadership of Hon. Oguntuase Funso Saka.
8. Take appropriate disciplinary measures against any individual found to have acted contrary to the constitution, rules, and interests of the party.
9. Establish safeguards to prevent future occurrences of similar incidents in any state chapter of the party.

We wish to state unequivocally that this petition is not motivated by personal interests or political rivalry. Rather, it is a genuine effort to protect the integrity of our great party and preserve the sanctity of the democratic process that produced us as candidates.

The National Democratic Congress was founded on the principles of justice, fairness, accountability, transparency, and democratic participation. It would therefore be a tragedy if the aspirations and sacrifices of loyal party members in Ekiti State were undermined by the unauthorized actions of a few individuals.

This matter transcends the interests of individual candidates. It concerns the credibility of the National Democratic Congress, the confidence of party members in our internal democratic processes, and the future electoral prospects of the party in Ekiti State.

Failure to address this matter urgently may lead to avoidable disputes, loss of confidence among party faithful, internal divisions, and consequences that could adversely affect the party's performance in future elections.

We therefore respectfully call upon the National Chairman, National Secretary, National Leader, and the entire National Executive Council to act swiftly, decisively, and impartially to protect the integrity of our party, uphold the mandate freely given to us by party members, and ensure that justice prevails.

We remain loyal members of the National Democratic Congress and trust that the national leadership will take immediate steps to address this grave situation.

Please accept the assurances of our highest esteem and continued commitment to the growth and success of our great party.

*Yours faithfully,*
