Very interesting. It's true you should never judge a book by its cover. This actually buttresses my opinion that there are good people out of these bad lots, just like a little sunflowers among thorns and they shine when situations like these surface like afternoon sun.
Dr Royver, well done! And good luck! |

Scholastica16: 1. In hindsight, the best time for me to have written the GRE was during my 4th year (6 months IT period).
2. GRE is generally for Engineering, Mathematics and Economics disciplines as long as it is for graduate studies which encompasses Masters and PhD. Thank you very much. |

Is it advisable to take the GRE exam in 400 level for Engineering?
Is GRE only for PhD, how about masters?
Pls I need Clarification. Thanks |

eliboy92: How I wish I'm a writer .... It's nice to be creative, I enjoyed the fun writing throughout this year (2016) but couldn't continue because of my busy schedule otherwise I would have gotten fame and learn more from NL.... But I'm proud one of my imperfect work made front page 'ANINI RELOADED' even if my first story 'MY LIFE IN OZORO POLYTECHNIC' wasn't fully posted here because of the robot stuff... But I will like you all to check out my ongoing story now, and correct me where necessary. The title is 'PLAYER'S HEART'....
one thing I love about Nairalanders is that they encourages new writers, and it helped me in discovering my ability to write... It's part of the reason I got almost 8 stories within 8months (April-November)... I Respect you all especially the writers mentioned, but there are some I know that wasn't mentioned Will you take the corrections with good heart? |

sirhamilton: I once read a quote that said something like: “It doesn’t matter how many 'No's' you get from men, all you need is just one 'Yes' from God”. And it made a lasting impression on me. On days like today, the overwhelming depression I had to stave off begged the question, ‘’when am I going to get a yes?’’. As if in response to the rhetoric, my phone beeped announcing the arrival of a new text message. As my fingers tapped their way into my inbox I was certain it was the service provider advertising a product or service. My brows shot up in sudden interest as my brain registered it was a customized message.
A smile slowly creased my cheeks when I read the content of the text message for the second time; the interview was scheduled three days from today, I noted. When the security guard had asked me to leave my CV with him I had reluctantly agreed but immediately forgotten about it after I did
***
As I flung myself on the bed, try as I could, it was impossible to banish the memories from the interview out of my head. I had somehow managed to forget every answer to the likely interview questions I had memorized the previous night. I practically stuttered my way through the interview.
TWO NIGHTS LATER
On the verge of sleeping off, an email jolted me to reality. My sleep-filled eyes lit up as they skimmed through the contents of the mail. They immediately became misty when they saw for the first time who the sender of the mail was.
‘’ I Finally Got a Yes’’. This thought was still bouncing haphazardly off the walls of my mind when I slept off.

I understand where you are coming from, that has been my fear too. But sometimes we need to overcome that fear. I don't know how we can overcome that, i.e. someone copying your work. Hope some experts can wade in and help.
Good luck We have gone round in circle on that. |

I'd have posted the first round 2000 words, but the fear that the story will be plagiarized is holding me back. I'm putting so much energy into writing this and the story is precious to me. So the thoughts of having my hard-written story on somebody's blog without authorization is disheartening.
Still thinking.... 2 Likes 2 Shares |
