The Alchemist is a classic. I read it many years ago but the story stuck. I recently came across another of Paulo Coehlo's work, Manuscripts Found in Accra, didn't like it much, it seemed like another type of The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran. I didn't even finish reading it.

A girl unloved,
A fondness she pleads,
A friend, a companion
Is all she needs.

While her shadow mocks her,
In the loneliness of the hour
Life's ferule caresses her skin
Her hopes sags before her power.

Her face beautifully battered
With tattooed tears and sorrows.
Yesterday's scars glows today
And uncertainty preepmt tomorrow.

Rejected by life,
Parents eloped with death,
The world admitted it ain't
Ready for her birth.

Should she be proud
Of her breath
Or choke in the weakness
Of her strenght?

Her heart is heavy
With lead emptiness,
Laughter is outlandish
And so is happiness.

When a vulture
Followed her to the meadow,
She knew death has come
To flirt with her and her shadow.

Into its arm, she ran

A bike headlight was seen by the police officers at a check point "who be that"?. I thought okada has been banned in this state,one of the officers said. Park well,come down. Remove your head gear. A female that looked as if she was in her late twenties was the face behind the head gear. "don't you know that they have banned bike in delta state". "No,i had no idea",she said."are you new in this place",the officer said."yeah i am". We cant just let you go like that na. So find kola for us or we will book you,and you will follow us to the station. "okay let me check". She tapped her right pocket. But it didn't sound as if there was anything in it. So she put her hand in her left pocket of her trouser. The looks on her face changed."i knew i didn't leave it",she said. The officers smiled. She brought out a gun and pulled the trigger on the two officers,collected their guns and decapitated the two officers and kept them in a bag and zoomed of

Nigeria the pot South Africa the kettle. Why? Tribalism and ethnic sentiment has been going on since the time we were amalgamated, even after then, the events of the civil war and post civil war speaks volumes about how we will murder our fellow Nigerians here in cold blood and feel good about it, only for us to cry wolf when we see them being beaten and murdered abroad!.

My opinion though!.

About publishing; I want to get published, I want to get published than anything else. But, unfortunately, publishing seems like a tough venture. With many attempts, I've discovered that you have to be connected with people of high status for you to get published with good publishers. I don't want to settle for less. I refuse to acknowledge the offers of the mushroom publishers who offer only paltry sums. This isn't pride; it's just that I've sacrificed too much for my stories to allow them fade into obscurity after a few months of getting published. I know nobody; I'm just a simple guy who lives alone with a table, chair, pen and paper. Many have advised me to delve into self-publishing, but fund is also another tiny straw. I finished The Brand of Cain in 2010; after five years, it has gotten to that stage where I'm no more in haste to get published. Funny enough, my frustration inspired me to create the Ariel character in the sequel . I'm sure that one day, somehow, my stories will bloom to the world. The light at the end of the bridge is what keeps me going; it's what's making me plot stories over stories, and I'm not going to stop until I give my last sigh, even if that light I see in the tunnel is the flash of an oncoming train, I'll remain steadfast.
