HERE..HURRY NOW |
I'm pained as i read this. I live in Rivers with and alarming rate of Kidnapping; at least 10times that of Kaduna..And virtually nothing is being done or declared in the State..Its pathetic. I'm sure if the issue of a State of Emergency is brought up i Rivers State, people will politicize it as an APC/ PDP battle. |

atlwireles:if you knew anything about what transpired in Rivers State, you would not be quick to comment. Amaechi in a bid to revive shacks like this became the enemy of our dear first lady. Meanwhile, Nembe is not in rivers State, but our Presidents own Bayelsa. |

Nura Alkali If you are a Muslim who supports almajiri practice, opposes Buhari vehemently on Facebook for shaking hands with a woman, and condemns his wife for supporting girl education before marriage, I have this advise for you: 1. Nigeria belongs to Muslims, Christians, atheists and animists. If you are unhappy with that, relocate to Saudi Arabia, a purely Muslim country where I have lived for four years. 2. There, you will see King Salman shake hands with women, and you won't meet almajiri on the streets. The few child beggars you see will be refugee foreigners. Visit the Universities of Jeddah or Riyadh, you will find girls outnumber boys in most faculties, and less than a 10th of them are married. 3. So, unhappy with Saudi Arabia, you move to Iran. Iranian leaders may not shake women's hands, but their women hardly wear the burqah, basic education is compulsory for them, and far more of them attend universities unmarried than Saudi women. Of course, they drive too, unlike Saudi women. 4. Unhappy again, you can then cross the border into Iraq and join ISIS, assuming they will accept a black African in their midst, and you can survive constant raids and drone attacks by US and coalition forces. 5. Or cross the other side of the border into Afghanistan to join the Taliban and live in caves at Tora Bora, again dodging bombs and drone attacks every minute. 6. My point is, the retrogressive systems of government you look for are only practiced by terror groups like ISIS and the Taliban. No one stops you joining them. https://www.facebook.com/nura.alkali.7/posts/1135915316434650?fref=nf

These demised stars would always be remembered for their role in one way or the other in the development of the Nigerian movie industry- Nollywood. It’s not an understatement to assert that their death shook Nollywood to its core at the time each of their demise occurred. They are however remembered for the legacies they left behind. SAM LOCO EFE The death of Sam Loco really got the entertainment industry in Nigeria shaking because he was very popular with his comic roles. Loco died in a hotel room in Owerri where he was editing a film, in August 2011, at age 66. JUSTICE ESIRI The Village Headmaster star actor died in February 2013 at age 70. He died of complications from diabetes in a Lagos hospital. ENEBELI ENEBUWA Enebeli became popular staring as Andrew in a popular TV programme many years ago. He died in an Indian hospital in December 2012. He died of stroke at age 66. AMAKA IGWE The very popular Nollywood producer died of asthma attack in Enugu, in April 2014. She was the writer and producer of the most popular TV soap ever to be aired in Nigeria, Checkmate. Her sudden demise at age 51 shook Nollywood and the entertainment industry as a whole due to her role in the development of Nollywood and in making stars like Julius Agwu, Bobmanuel Udokwu and so many of them. JENIFER OKERE OSSAI She was a big star in the 1990s. She had featured in Ikuku, Living in Bondage, True Confession, etc. She died between 1999 and 2000 and her death was the first to shake Nollywood. JT TOM WEST The River state born actor died in September 2006. Tom-West was involved in a fatal auto-accident, while he was returning from a location after a late night film shooting with two of his colleagues. His former girlfriend, Tricia Eseigbe wept so hard that she was uncontrollable as at that time. He was popular with such movies as State of Emergency, Above The Law, Labistar etc. GERALDINE EKEOCHA The popular actress died in September 2011 during a fibroid operation at age 56. PETE ENEH Pete Eneh died in November 2012 after one of his legs was amputated at age 68. BISI KOMOLAFE She was a popular Yoruba actress whose sudden demise shook the Yoruba movie industry. She died at age 27 in January 2013. FUNMI MARTINS Funmi was a cross over actress who featured in both Yoruba and English films. She played a romantic role in When The Sun Set released in the 1990s which was Kate Henshaws first film. Funmi died in May 2002. Her death shook Nollywood then. FRANCIS AGU Francis became a star via Amaka Igwe’s Checkmate. After which he featured in Living in Bondage, Jezebel produced by his girlfriend then, Emem Isong. Francis died in March 2007 after a protracted sickness. DAVID IHESIE The actor died in January 2012 at age 73. CHRISTY ESSIEN IGBOKWE Christy Uduak Essien-Igbokwe MFR(11 November 1960 – 30 June 2011) was a Nigerian musician and actress. She was known as Nigeria’s Lady of Songs. Essien’s fluency in Yoruba, English, Igbo and her native Ibibio earned her an appeal which cut across tribal lines. ASHLEY NWOSU The top actor died in April 2011 after a brief illness. Clem Onyeka Clem Onyeka was recently killed in a crossfire between the Nigerian Police and armed robbers in Asaba Delta State. He was only 37 years old. May their souls continue to rest in peace!!!

That’s the trending discussion right now on social media. Presidential spokesperson Reuben Abati a few hours ago announced the sack of SURE-P boss, Martin Luther Agwai, and now there are reports that he was sacked for attending former president Obasanjo’s birthday event last week. Premium Times understands reliably that Mr. Agwai was fired for flouting a presidential instruction that no government official or member of the ruling PDP, should attend the birthday event of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, last week. Sources within the presidency told Premium Times that all government functionaries were instructed by President Jonathan to boycott Mr. Obasanjo’s birthday event. Our sources said when informed of the president’s warning, Mr. Agwai, who climbed to the pinnacle of his career under the Obasanjo administration, said he will go ahead and attend the function, more so, in view of the president’s directive. Our sources said for daring the president, it was clear Mr. Agwai would be fired. One source said it appears Mr. Agwai was informed ahead of the announcement of his removal Tuesday, as the former defence chief arrived early at the SURE-P office to pack his belongings. - See more at: http://24gist.net/news-gej-fired-sure-p-boss-for-attending-obasanjos-birthday-event/#sthash.A7SNR2wS.dpuf

mayorchelsea:Just a tip. I've interviewed so many fresh inexperienced graduates based on CVs they submit. One thing i can say is that, only about 3% of the candidates that i go through their CVs get called for an interview. One major killer in your CV is when you do not carefully edit for grammatical errors. Could give you more tips if you are interested |
His fight against corruption has been his greatest selling point so far. One could say its because he did a fairly neat job as a military ruler. Has anyone seen or heard of a well-articulated plan by GMB to fight corruption under a civilian regime, taking into cognizance the dynamics and bottle necks of a democratic system? Hey die hard fans, i'm just asking.. |
