Award winning filmmaker, Onyeka Nwelue has called on Nigerians from across the country to rig the forthcoming elections in favour of the NDC presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

He made the call yesterday on X, stating that they can ask God for forgiveness afterwards, by which time Obi would have taken the reigns of power from the incumbent president.

Netizens were taken aback by the strange admonition, especially as the act does not only offend "God", but constitutes a breach of the country's constitution. God may forgive, but the law might take its course.

The 2027 presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, has urged Nigerians living in the United Kingdom to challenge relatives seeking financial assistance from them and support efforts to change the country’s leadership.

Obi made the appeal during a town hall meeting with supporters in the UK on Sunday as he seeks to unseat President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 election.

Addressing the gathering, the former Anambra State governor encouraged Nigerians in the diaspora to convince their relatives to prioritise political change rather than continually requesting money from abroad.

“I need you people and that is why I’m having lunch with you today. This lunch is for you to say, this man came and what he said is the reality of our problem. Let’s work with him,” he said.

He added, “You have people at home who are begging you for money. Tell them no. Let’s put somebody who has proven, I said I’m not a saint, but at least I have said something.”

Obi also challenged other former governors to demonstrate that they had saved a significant portion of public funds during their time in office, arguing that his record offered a basis for comparison.

“So, let’s start with this one who is maybe less corrupt. We are not saying it is all, but let’s not pretend it is not happening,” he said.

The former governor maintained that Nigeria could make progress if citizens rejected corruption and the alleged diversion of public funds, which he linked to the country’s poor public infrastructure.

“That is how the countries change. Countries change by people saying, hey, wait a minute, enough of this,” Obi said, adding that money allegedly diverted by public officials could otherwise have funded schools and hospitals.

He further recalled a time when, according to him, public services were better managed and contrasted it with reports of officials allegedly accumulating properties and missing public funds.

Henry Shield says that the APC is campaigning totally for Tinubu, the ADC is campaigning totally for Atiku, but NDC has not yet accepted Peter Obi as its presidential candidate. He says that Henry Dickson is getting more of the publicity of the NDC than Peter Obi.

Even tinubu knows Peter Obi won the elections. Rufai is only asking Peter Obi to gather his own evidence b4 the corrupt political system detroys it or manipulates it.

He just committed great sacrilege by daring to go against the ethos of the movement which is that nobody questions or criticizes Obi, for whatever reasons.
