The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) is an organization set up by the Nigerian government to involve the country’s graduates in the development of the country. Every year, graduates from Nigerian universities are posted to various establishments to serve their country in various regards. One of the most popular places where graduates are posted to is schools where they’re expected to either work in administrative positions or teach students. Over the years, the mandatory Service Year which an average youth gives to Naija has times without number being begged to be scrapped. With a lot of cons outweighing its pro, I’m strongly opinionated that the scheme be converted to a skill acquisition program.
