Celebrities › Dbanj Is Yet To Pay Producer For Emergency Single by Omolola1(op): 6:33pm On Feb 23, 2016 |
D’banj is yet to pay the producer of his trending single ‘Emergency’.
The singer is currently enjoying a moment in the sun after his 2016 debut single ‘Emergency’ has received great reception.
The song was produced by P-Loops, and the recently released video was shot by Unlimited L.A, on location in Lagos. But at the time of this report, P-Loops is yet to receive compensation. “I just wanted to make something that was Afro, full-time Afro Pop. I wanted to sound like the old school Fela kind of thing. It was coming in my head, and it kept on ringing, and I knew it was what I wanted to do.” P-Loops told Pulse in a phone conversation.
Olu Maintain listened to the beat, and took it to D’banj. The beat originally was for Olu Maintain, but while on the Koko Tour stop in Owerri, Imo State (which is coincidentally the home town of the producer), he played it to D’banj who loved it and voiced a new song on it.
For P-Loops that was the end of the beat until January 2016 when he heard the song like any other person. He instantly recognized his beat. No credit was given to the producer, even his vocal signature on the instrumental had been erased.
“I was in shock when I heard the next morning that the song was out. I didn’t record with D’banj, I think Olu sent the beat to him, and he recorded. There was no credit at all, no credit on the promo copy, there was no credit online, no credit whatsoever.
“I did try to talk to them, I talked to Olu Maintain in my office. My trademark was removed. The original beat had my trademark. I talked to them about it, and we were going to have a brief meeting about it, but till now, there has been no credit…It was KC Graphics, his graphic designer who gave me his contact.”
In a video published by the Net News TV yesterday February 22, D’banj can be seen embracing the producer called P Loops.
The singer also known as Banga Lee said he had never met P Loops.
“Everywhere I go, people ask me: that song, who produced the song, I never meet the guy before, he just sent beat to me.
“In fact he sent the beat to me through Olu Maintain”, he said in the video clip. Watch Video of his first meeting with Ploops here: http://lolaville.com/2016/02/23/dbanj-is-yet-to-pay-producer-for-emergency-single/

Politics › I Will Not Resign As PDP Chairman, I Have Nothing To Do With Boko Haram -Sheriff by Omolola1(op): 9:02pm On Feb 22, 2016 |
Embattled Chairman of PDP, Ali Modu Sheriff, says he will not be resigning from his position as the party's Chairman despite the public outcry by some members since his appointment. Sheriff stated this at the PDP secretariat in Abuja shortly after he officially took over the party leadership.
“I won’t resign because the leadership of the party, in their wisdom, chose me to lead the PDP for the purpose of rebuilding and repositioning the party at this critical period,”he said.
Reacting to allegations that he is a sponsor of the Insurgency group, Boko Haram, Sheriff said
“Boko Haram killed my own brother. They killed members of my family, so why should I sponsor people to kill my own brother, my own family. I am not a fanatic. I love to enjoy my life. Boko Haram are criminals who live in the bush and eat once a day. I believe their sponsors will be caught at the end of the day. I have nothing to do with Boko Haram,” he said. He singled out a former Aviation Minister, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, among the people linking him with the terror sect, saying “this time around, people like Fani-Kayode will not go scot free.” http://lolaville.com/2016/02/22/ill-not-resign-as-pdp-chairman-ali-modu-sheriff-insists-he-has-nothing-to-do-with-boko-haram/

Nairaland General › British People Attempt To Speak With A Nigerian Accent (hilarious Video) by Omolola1(op): 6:52pm On Feb 22, 2016 |
In Nigeria, some people speak with American or British accents regardless of whether they have spent time abroad or not. We have heard the terms ‘ajebutter’, ‘innit’ and ‘I just got back’ used to describe these Nigerians, but imagine what American and British people sound like when they try to speak with a Nigerian accent. Nigerian entertainment site, Battabox recently hit the streets of Brixton, London on an experimental interview to find out if some British people could speak with a Nigerian accent and the result was hilarious. Most of the folks that were approached couldn’t differentiate between the South African and the Nigerian accent while others just sounded like they were in pain. Tried to embed the video here, but couldn't, better still anyone has an idea how to embed a video here? Celebrities › Tubaba Disvirgined Annie Idibia's Rival by Omolola1(op): 8:49am On Feb 22, 2016 |
Na wa ooo. It's been a dramatic year so far... Everybody was stunned yesterday when Annie Idibia put a mystery lady on blast and accused her of causing troubles in her home. I personally didn't even take it serious sef until this morning, I saw GOBE! “Please tag her family members to put this woman in order,” Annie captioned the photo of the unknown woman, adding, “She needs to stop bugging my family. I’m a peaceful person.” And then she threatened to leak the lady’s messages. From the conversations, and confirmation from top blogger Stella Dimoko Korkus, the mystery lady is Raymond Dokpesi’s niece who allegedly had been dating 2baba Idibia. Now watching in 3D how this drama would eventually end Read more: http://lolaville.com/2016/02/22/annie-idibias-new-rival-was-allegedly-dating-2baba-and-would-have-become-his-wife/

If your original call up letter carries one of Lagos or Ogun state which is state of school and state of origin (due to an influence in posting), would it affect registration in camp? |

From my own understanding of things and knowledge of NYSC. It's not that easy to change the postings.
Firstly and majorly. There are several factors in place when posting is happening.
They can't just change a few code. They'll have to do that for everyone.
Secondly, the way it was designed(from my understanding), our input determines it's output. Now that, we've already inputed and I guess the details are in database, will they now start searching for each student and applying the principle.
The beauty of the program is that, as a PCM completes it, it automatically redeploys. If this application is to be applied to already posted PCMs, they will have to start from the first person that submitted and start the program all over again till it reaches the last. Remember that peeps are still registering. Except they shut down their portal!
Factors that are considered are state of origin with the state of university. Also with the states visited.
And importantly, the states visited.
Then the program will take into fact, the amount of students from a particular school posted to a state, amount of 'a particular course' in a state, amount of 'a particular class of degree' in a particular state and other factors not known to me.
These points above make it hard for NYSC to just decide to tweak it.
There are some programs that once they are built, it'll be hard to tweak, except you want it to being out errors!
Cc: everyone! Yinmu! Be deceiving yourself because you got Abuja Everything that goes up must surely come down! Don't get too comfortable with the knowledge that postings can't be changed. It's IT, there is absolutely nothing in IT that CANNOT be tweaked. Wake up from slumber and have in mind Abuja might or might not be where you are going. Keep an open mind. Nothing is impossible, esp especially when an organization has been laughed at and want to prove a point. #my2kobo |
