Adeyeye to Fayemi: How Much Debt is Ekiti State Owing Now? Afenifere Chieftain and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in Ekiti State, Prince Dayo Adeyeye has described the State Government's defense of the Fiscal Responsibility Commission (FRC) report, which put the total indebtedness of Ekiti State at N35.98bn as at December 31, 2011, as not only watery but a disservice to the people of the State. Adeyeye said what the people desire in simple term is a definite answer as to the total amount being owed by Ekiti State and not a "say nothing long essay released by the State government as its response to the FRC report." Director General of Prince Adedayo Adeyeye Movement (PAAM), Hon. Bisi Kolawole, said in a release issued today that it was laughable that the State Commissioner of Finance, Mr Dapo Kolawole could only say that the "Fayemi-led administration had repaid about half of the N20 billion it raised from the Capital Market." He said; "If all that the State Finance Commissioner could offer was speculation on how much had been repaid from the N20 billion bond obtained in 2011, then something is missing somewhere." "We have told Ekiti people that as at October 15, 2010 that Governor Kayode Fayemi assumed office, total Bank Borrowings was N7.5 billion taken against outstanding staff loan of N3.4 billion being deducted monthly from public servants salaries and N5 billion cash balances in counterpart funding accounts of Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB). "In other words, Ekiti Bank Borrowings as at October 15, 2010 was N7.5 billion and by the time the N3.4 billion being deducted from public servants salaries is removed, it will remain N4.1 billion. Also, when the balance of N3 billion that was left in various accounts of MDGs and SUBEB is deducted, what will be left as debt will be N1.1 billion. "So we ask Fayemi and his men, how much is the total debt being owed by Ekiti State now and how much is the government planning to borrow before the end of this year because we are aware that the state government is in the process of taking another bond? "As per the N20 billion bond obtained in 2011, what is the exact amount already repaid, and most importantly, how much of the N20 billion bond got to Ekiti State? "Above all, what was the purpose for which the N20 billion bond was taken and for which purpose was it expended? "Above are the questions Ekiti people want Fayemi and his men to provide answers to, not a say nothing long essay that the government released to the press yesterday," Adeyeye said. While reiterating his call on financial institutions in the country, especially the Central Bank and Security and Exchange Commission to be mindful of how loans are granted to the State, Adeyeye said; "Ekiti does not deserve a governor who runs government on credit by spending in advance, funds that should accrue to the State in 30 years, thereby keeping the present and future generations of Ekiti people in perpetual bondage of debt." |
Ekiti Debt Profile Under Fayemi's Govt Worrisome, Alarming -Adeyeye Afenifere Chieftain and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in Ekiti State, Prince Dayo Adeyeye has described as worrisome and alarming, the debt profile of the State under the Governor Kayode Fayemi; saying; "It would have even been better if the huge loan already obtained by the State government was spent on income-generating projects." The Fiscal Responsibility Commission (FRC) had in its report, said the total indebtedness of Ekiti State stood at N35.98bn as at December 31, 2011. FRC said the State debt profile of N35.98bn as against its revenue profile of N44.97bn was against the limit of 50 percent of annual revenue in the previous 12 months set by the Debt Management Office (DMO). Reacting through the Director General of Prince Adedayo Adeyeye Movement (PAAM), Hon. Bisi Kolawole, the governorship aspirant called on the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Security and Exchange Commission (SEC), and other financial clearing houses to put a stop to the rate at which the state government is obtaining loans. He disclosed that as at October 15, 2010 that Fayemi assumed office, Ekiti State Bank loan and borrowings amounted to N7.5 billion and these included the outstanding loans of N3.4 billion obtained by civil servants in the state on which deductions were being made from their salaries. He said there was also counterpart fund borrowed from the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) for which the balance of N3 billion was left in various accounts of MDGs and SUBEB. "The reality is that, Ekiti State debt profile was less than N5 billion when Fayemi assumed office and for the debt to have risen from about N5 billion in October 2011 to N35.98 billion in December 31, 2011 is alarming. "It simply indicates that Fayemi's government borrowed N30 billion with 12 months! "And more worrisome is the fact that the borrowed funds were not spent on income generating projects, through which the loans could be repaid. "Instead, they are spending borrowed funds on multi billion naira contracts to execute questionable projects like building new government house, civic centre, governor's office, government arcade, etc. "Does it make any economic sense for borrowed fund to be used to build new government house and governor's office when nothing is wrong with the existing ones? "Therefore, Ekiti people should prevail on Fayemi to stop running government on credit by spending in advance, funds that should accrue to the State in 30 years, thereby keeping the present and future generations of Ekiti people in perpetual bondage of debt," Adeyeye said. |
This is how PETTY and CHILDISH Gomina Fayemi and his men can be In d Nigerian Tribune newspaper of today, there is a THREE-Page Advertorial purportedly sponsored by the Abiku Peoples Congress (APC), Ado-Ekiti and Irepodun/Ifelodun LGs against Reps member, Hon Michael Opeyemi Bamidele (MOB). Listed as part of MOB's SINS is that he (MOB) took photographs with me. They wrote: "A further confirmation of your romance with members of opposition parties is the widely circulated pictures you took with Mr. Lere Olayinka who is the mouthpiece of Mr. Segun Oni and avowed hater of the Fayemi administration." My Take: So in Fayemi's APC, members must not be seen with anyone who is not in their party, such that MOB taking pictures with me is a sin? How childish and petty can a govt be? The 3-page advert was also published in The Nation newspaper of Wednesday, meaning that about N2.7m Ekiti pple's money had been spent on adverts against MOB. Let's assume the N2.7m was shared among the suffering members of Fayemi's APC at N10k each, 270 members of the party will get N10k each! But in the opinion of Fayemi and his men, it makes more sense to waste N2.7m on newspaper adverts while members of their party go about without food. By the way, methinks Fayemi's Social Media Attack Dogs used to say that Oga Gomina does not know that any Lere Olayinka exists? |
EKITI ACCUSED OF DIVERTING FG’S N350M FADAMA FUND -We are not aware of such money - Govt The Ekiti State government has been accused of diverting the federal government counterpart funding released to the state for Fadama III farmers. A chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and governorship aspirant in the state, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, put the amount at over N350 million. In a statement by the Director General of the Prince Adedayo Adeyeye Movement (PAAM), Mr Bisi Kolawole, quoted the aspirant calling on the Federal Ministry of Agriculture to come to the aid of Fadama farmers in the state by directing the state government to disburse the money without further delay. PAAM said the silence of the of the state government in spite of the farmers’ agitation was suspicious, adding that; “from all indications, the state government is out to frustrate the Fadama III farmers. But the government denied the claim, saying there was no N350 million federal government’s Fadama counterpart funding released to it. The state Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Mr. Jide Arowosafe said, “I am not aware of any fund from the federal government released to the state for Fadama farming.” Speaking in a telephone interview with our correspondent, the commissioner said the government had disbursed about N250 million to farmers who met the conditions for such loans, adding that the government would not approve application of those who might want to enjoy the Fadama facilities through the back door. The commissioner described the counterpart funding as a tripartite arrangement among the federal, state and local government, adding that there was no way it could be possible for the state to divert the fund. “It is to the credit of the Fadama farmers in Ekiti State that we now have vegetables like water melon, cucumber and pumpkin in abundance in the state and this initiative must not be frustrated by the state government,” he said. The statement further alleged that the state government was planning to divert the Fadama III fund contributed by the federal government and the World Bank to the state government’s Youth Commercial Agriculture Development Program (YCAD). “Fadama III is for livestock farming and the fund is meant to be disbursed to livestock farmers in the state. As at today, there are over 350 applications for loan pending at the state Ministry of Agriculture. The applications are from the Fadama Users Group (FUG), with each group having ten farmers. “The implication of this is that 3,500 Fadama III farmers are being held to ransom by the Ekiti state government, and yet, the government keeps advertising fake achievements in agriculture. “Contributing its own counterpart fund of N100 million to the N350 million from the federal government contribution, the state government is planning to divert the Fadama III fund to buying tractors, build a silo and refurbish the state abattoir located along Ado-Iworoko, among other YCAD. “This amounts to misappropriation of fund and a wicked attempt to deny the Fadama farmers the financial assistance made available by the federal government. We therefore call on the Federal Ministry of Agriculture to come to the aid of Fadama farmers in Ekiti state by directing the immediate disbursement of the fund,” he said. |
Don’t drag me into your messy political battle with Bode George, others – Oni tells Buruji Kashamu Former governor of Ekiti State, Chief Segun Oni has warned controversial businessman and self-appointed Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader in Ogun State and the South-West zone, Mr. Buruji Kashamu, not to drag his name into his (Kashamu) “messy political battle,” with former Deputy National Chairman of the PDP, Chief Bode George and other credible PDP leaders in the South West. Reacting to comment credited to Kashamu in some newspapers today that Bode George was the one who instigated him (Oni) to file the suit against the conduct of the party’s South West zonal congress, the former Governor, who spoke through his Media Aide, Mr Lere Olayinka said, “he does not need anyone to fight for his rights through the instruments of the law.” Olayinka, who described Kashamu’s comment as unfortunate, added that; “those who genuinely love the PDP in the South West would be interested in the resolution of all issues affecting the party not the installation of their stooge through a pre-determined congress.” He reiterated that the Zonal Congress that produced Oni as the National Vice Chairman of the PDP was the brainchild of notable leaders of the party in the zone, with former president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo in attendance, pointing out that; “Buruji Kashamu’s manipulations that led to the nullification of the zonal congress was a direct affront on the leaders of the party, including former president Obasanjo. The statement read; “We wish to state that we take exception to the claim by Mr. Buruji Kashamu that Chief Bode George instigated Oni to file the suit against the conduct of the zonal congress. “That to us is an insult and Kashamu should be mindful of the way he goes about his desperation to establish his control of the PDP South West Exco. “He should be reminded that Oni has an integrity that no one can rubbish and Oni is known to have treated all the leaders of the PDP with due respect including Kashamu himself “Most importantly, the public should know that the ruling of the Ado-Ekiti High Court of August 20, 2013 was clear and unambiguous. “The court which refused to grant an interim injunction said; ”all parties are advised to maintain the status quo pending the hearing of the motion on notice,” and the status quo as at the day the ruling was made was that; no congress had been held and the zonal caretaker committee had seized to exist owing resignation of its members to contest elections at the zonal congress. This has not been varied by any order of the same or superior Court. “Furthermore, we wish to state that even with or without the court advising parties to maintain status quo, it is trite in law that; when a Motion on Notice is pending before a Court of law and same has being served on all Parties, all the Parties are expected to fold their arms and refrain from doing anything capable of overreaching the pending application. “In EZEGBU VS. FATB LTD (1992) 1 NWLR, Niki Tobi JCA (as he then was) stated: ‘Therefore once a Party is aware of a pending Court process, and whether the Court has not given a specific injunctive Order, Parties are bound to maintain the status quo pending the determination of the Court process.’ “Therefore, holding a Zonal Congress during the pendency of the Motion on Notice before the court in Ado-Ekiti, which has been adjourned till September 3, 2013 for hearing and other suits pending before other Courts, including the SUPREME COURT of Nigeria would be tantamount to ‘giving effect to the purported dissolution of the South West Zonal Committee headed by Chief Segun Oni,’ which would be unlawful and illegal. “It is on this note that we advise Buruji Kashamu to let sanity prevail in our party by supporting the Rule of law and stopping his campaign of calumny against respected leaders of our party who are labouring day and night to return the party into the right and credible path.” |
Jaruu: Blame Not Fayemi's Messenger of Death I have followed comments and reactions on the mayhem at Iyin-Ekiti yesterday, and I am compelled to exonerate Gomina Fayemi's Chief Thug, Deji Adesokan (Jaruu) of any blame. For all intent and purposes, Jaruu is a messenger, employed by Fayemi to deliver messages of DEATH and Bloodshed to Ekiti people whenever the BLOOD SUCKING DEMONS in the governor desire blood. He (Jaruu) has been performing his duty very diligently. So, why should anyone blame Jaruu for the Iyin-Ekiti mayhem when Fayemi, who employed him is giving kudos to him for providing the much needed blood for his (Fayemi) demons to suck? Jaruu is only doing the job for which Fayemi employed him and being paid with Ekiti people's collective wealth, and God forbid, if any of those that were shot yesterday dies, it is Fayemi that caused the death, not Jaruu, who's only trying to justify his pay. Remove the police and Fayemi's govt protection from Jaruu, he can't slap my nine year old son. When we both met at the Police Headquarters in Ado-Ekiti last year, Jaruu could not do anything when I told him in the presence of the ACID that he should slap me and see what will happen to him. Therefore, let no one blame Jaruu for the violence being unleashed on Ekiti pple. Rather, blame Fayemi, Jaruu's employer who is obviously happy with his (Jaruu) performance, and the security agencies (especially the police) that is giving him protection. However, let it be known to Fayemi that; "No one can win a war against his own pple." And to Jaruu, keep doing your job so that Fayemi's demons will continue to have enough blood to suck. But know your bounds, because; "emi o ni ki Gambari (Hausa) ma sun rara, ko saa ma ki oriki ile baba te mi."

Blame Fayemi, Police for violence in Ekiti - Adeyeye Afenifere Chieftain and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in Ekiti State, Prince Dayo Adeyeye has said that the State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi and the police should be blamed for the spate of political violence being witnessed in the State. Adeyeye, who called on President Goodluck Jonathan and the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr Mohammed Abubakar to save Ekiti people from Fayemi and his killer squad led by one Deji Adesokan (Jaruu), said; "Our State is getting closer to a state of anarchy and urgent steps must be taking to prevent a total breakdown of law and order in the State." Reacting to the mayhem in which four persons were shot in Iyin-Ekiti, Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government area of Ekiti State today, Director General of Prince Adedayo Adeyeye Movement (PAAM), Hon. Bisi Kolawole said; "what happened could have been averted if the police had not allowed Deji Adesokan and his gang of killers to be perpetrating crimes in the State unchallenged." He said; "On many occasions, this same Deji Adesokan, who is the cause of the Iyin-Ekiti mayhem had led violent attacks on PDP supporters and supporters of the Hon Michael Opeyemi Bamidele faction of the All Progressive Congress (APC) with the police looking the other way. "Even a court in Ado-Ekiti had described Deji Adesokan as tyrant while also awarding N1 million damages against him in a case of assault against an Ado-Ekiti Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) official, Mr. Idowu Brown. "In spite of his atrocities, Fayemi has not deemed it necessary to sanction him and the police has not for once questioned him. "Today, we are yet to see those who killed Adeleye Awolumate, Ayo Murphy Jeje and Juliana Adewumi face the consequences of their criminal act. "In a situation where people in government are allowed to unleash violence on the people with impunity, what will g is the people rising in their own defence and such a situation is what we are witnessing in the State now. "Therefore, the president and IGP should please in the name of God save Ekiti State from this impending catastrophe by bringing those being used by the State Government to unleash terror on innocent Ekiti sons and daughters to book." |
Gomina Fayemi's Chief Thug, Jaruu Causes Mayhem at Iyin-Ekiti I hear say katakata dey sele for Iyin-Ekiti now and General Adeyinka Adebayo is trying to intervene. Fayemi's Chief Thug, Deji Adesokan (Jaruu) took some Armed Policemen to Iyin-Ekiti this morning under the pretence that he was going to show them d house of some Armed Robbers. On getting to Iyin-Ekiti, Jaruu took the policemen to go and arrest supporters of Hon Michael Opeyemi Bamidele (MOB), who took part in d reprisal attack on him and Niyi Adedipe last Friday. Angered by this development, youths in the town mobilised themselves and blocked the road, preventing the policemen from leaving the town. Dangerous weapons like cutlasses, broken bottles, stones are being used freely, with Gen Adebayo still trying to calm the angry youths. Four persons were said to av been SHOT at Iyin-Ekiti. They are in critical condition at d State University Teaching Hospital, Ado-Ekiti. Let Gomina Fayemi and his Chief Thug, Deji Adesokan (Jaruu) continue to shed the blood of Ekiti pple, God dey!
