N70m to be deducted from each of the 16 LGs allocation this month, making N1.12bn for d 16 LGs. The N70m per LG deduction will be done thrice. The contract has been awarded to one of Gomina Fayemi's cronnies with no input from any of d 16 LGs. Yet, Oga Gomina talk say him no dey touch LG funds. So, Ekiti Kete, be expecting over N3.3bn market ooo, even if there will be nothing to sell in d markets. |
HELP!!! 5 Die in Ekiti Teaching Hospital because of Lack of OXYGEN Last night, a young lady, Olubunmi Adetunji gave birth thru Caesarean Section (CS). The operation was successful and she had a baby girl. Few minutes after the operation, she complained of having difficulty in breathing but there was no Resuscitator (OXYGEN) to assist her. She died a few minutes later! Olubunmi Adetunji was the 5th patients that died in Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH), Ado-Ekiti in the last THREE WEEKs because of lack of OXYGEN. EKSUTH has no functional OXYGEN. Yet, our Oga Gomina has spent over N600m on Health Mission, in which Paracetamol, Toothpaste, Sunlight Soap, Cotton Bud, etc are distributed. EKSUTH has no functional OXYGEN, and pple are dying daily because of lack of Resuscitator. Yet, Oga Gomina Fayemi is building a New Govt House on Oke Ayoba, State Pavilion and Civic Centre. EKSUTH has no functional OXYGEN. Yet wife of Oga Gomina donated a building worth N150m to OAU, Ile-Ife and spent over N50m to take YEYE AJISEYE chieftaincy title. May God save Ekiti State... |
Adeyeye Faults Fayemi's Claim On Ekiti LG Funds, Accuses Him Of Illegal Deduction Of LG Funds Afenifere Chieftain and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in Ekiti State has described the State governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi's claim that he does not touch Local Government funds as "blatant lie", saying; "If there is any governor in Nigeria who has crippled the local government administration, that governor is Kayode Fayemi." Fayemi had said while addressing Local Government workers at Ikere-Ekiti on Friday that; "I don't touch LG funds. I don't get involved in its management. I know there are lot of rumour flying around, but I am not that kind of Governor. If there is any governor who doesn't touch LG funds, it is the one standing before you now." However, Adeyeye, who reacted through the Director General of Prince Adedayo Adeyeye Movement (PAAM), Hon. Bisi Kolawole, said; "it is funny that a governor who was openly accused by the Ekiti State chapter of the Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees(NULGE) of pilfering Local Council funds could stand before the council workers and say he does not touch Local Government fund." Adeyeye said; "It is on record that NULGE in Ekiti State wrote a letter to Fayemi; dated July 27, 2012 and titled: 'Notice of 14-Day Ultimatum' in which the governor was accused of illegal deduction of local council funds. "Part of the letter, which was signed by NULGE Secretary, V.A. Adebayo read; 'We have it on record that what is being declared as total allocation to Councils in the State for some months now is not what is actually shared in the course of the Joint Account Allocation Committee (JAAC) meeting. A good example in this regard is the allocation for February shared in March, 2012 when the allocation for the 16 Local Governments amounts to N2,725,984,174.83 while what was declared was mere N1,345,640,056.01 and that of April distributed in May was N2,039,863,343.65 and the sum of N1,476,368,871.53 was declared and this has been the practice for other preceding months.' "In other words, NULGE, whose members are the ones administering Local governments funds and are also part of the State Joint Account Allocation Committee (JAAC) placed it on record that Fayemi's government deducted N1,380,344,118.82 from February 2012 allocation while N563,494,472.12 was deducted from April 2012 allocation. “It is also on record that instead of going to court as he threatened then, Fayemi made the Ekiti State House of Assembly to hurriedly pass the 2012 budget of the 16 local governments on September 25, 2012. “Listed as expenditures in the budget were about N1 billion as the councils' contribution to the renovation of public secondary school buildings, about N1.2 billion as their contribution to payment of Social Security Scheme for the elderly, N1.9bn for payment of 100 Vigilante Peace Corps, among other questionable contributions to Joint Projects. "As at today, funds meant for Local Government Ekiti State have been used to execute projects like purchase of vehicles for traditional rulers and market women without the consent of the council administrators. "So where lies the morality and truth in Fayemi's claim that he does not touch local council funds? Or should we conclude that the governor meant to say that he does not touch Local Government fund, he is stealing it?" |

The Rot in Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Ikeja is the only tertiary Health Institution, owned by the Lagos State Govt. Car Park Ticket in the Hospital is N300. Meaning, u must pay N300 to park ur car if u take a sick person to d hospital or u go there to visit a sick person. But the N300 Car Park Ticket is not the real issue. The major issue is that in LASUTH, X-ray Computed Tomography, otherwise known as CT Machine has not worked since FEBRUARY 8, this year. And since then, no replacement. A whole LASUTH cannot boast of a functional CT Machine! Yet, they tell us Lagos is working and that APC will fix Nigeria ![]() Abeg, anyone with BRF's phone number ? |
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in Ekiti State and Afenifere Chieftain, Prince Dayo Adeyeye has described the State government's reaction to the allegation of non-payment of pensioners gratuity since last year as "a say nothing response," saying; "Ekiti people simply want to know when last was pensioners' gratuity paid, not how much has been expended on pension and gratuity since the Kayode Fayemi-led All Progressives Congress (APC) government took over power." Adeyeye, who challenged the State Government to tell Nigerians why pensioners in Ekiti State shunned the December 11, 2013 Pensioners Day, insisted that "public servants who retired in the State since last year have not received their gratuity as against what was obtainable during the immediate past PDP government when gratuity was paid within 60 days after retirement." The State government had reacted through the Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation Tayo Ekundayo that Adeyeye's claim that pensioners were not being paid their gratuity was an "outburst of uninformed and desperate politicians, who are out to make cheap political gains." In a release issued by the Director General, Prince Adedayo Adeyeye Movement (PAAM), Hon Bisi Kolawole, the PDP governorship hopeful said it was criminal for anyone to be playing politics with the welfare of those who served the state meritoriously. He said; "instead of running around, trying to subvert the truth as was done by the State government in its reaction, the government should rather set machinery in motion to pay the retirees their gratuity so that they too can begin to enjoy their retirement as was the case of those who retired during the Segun Oni-led PDP government and were paid their gratuity within 60 days after retirement." Speaking further, Adeyeye said; "If they are saying that retirees are not being owed their gratuity, why didn't pensioners in the State celebrate this year's Pensioners Day on December 11? "Why did the Ekiti State Chapter of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners (NUP) accused the State government of non-implementation of the six percent and 15 percent pension increase, which had been approved by the Salaries, Income and Wages Commission since June 2010 and which all states in the South West have implemented except Lagos and Ekiti states? "During the governor's radio programme two weeks ago, a caller asked why pensioners had not received their gratuity since last year and the governor's response was that fraud was recently discovered at the State Pension Commission and that the fraud was the reason for non-payment of pensioners gratuity. "One may then ask whether it was the fraud that was allegedly discovered two months ago that made it impossible for retirees who retired since last year to be paid their gratuity? "Like we said before, non-payment of retirees entitlements on time is sinful and a direct invitation to fraud; because those still in service would have no option than to steal government fund in other to secure their old age. “We are therefore appealing to Fayemi to stop treating our elders, who had served the state even when he (Fayemi) was still a toddler, like beggars because he too will grow old one day."

Adeyeye Promises To Uplift School Sports In Ekiti, Laments State's Non-Participation In Youth Games Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in Ekiti State and chieftain of Afenifere, Prince Dayo Adeyeye has promised to uplift school and youth sports in the State if he becomes the State governor next year, saying; "No society can develop beyond the intellectual and physical capabilities of its youths and any government that is not taking youth sports seriously is doing a great disservice to the society." Adeyeye, who lamented the non participation of Ekiti State in the National School Sports Festival held in Ilorin, Kwara State last month and the National Youth Games, currently holding in Abuja, said it was worrisome that the State government that could afford to lavish N100 million to send over 30 members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on a jamboree trip to South Africa refused to release fund for Ekiti youths to participate in sports festivals. Speaking during a meeting with some stakeholders in the Sports sector in his Ise-Ekiti country home yesterday, Adeyeye said; "By the grace of God, the government that we will form in Ekiti State next year will be one that will not deny our youths and school children participation in sports competitions in and outside Nigeria." He said; "any society that fails to support its youths in the area of sports is indirectly destroying the future of the society because sports in itself is now a big business that government must be interested in." Speaking further; the governorship hopeful said; "It is on record that during the immediate past PDP government, Ekiti State was the best in the area of youth sports development. We produced 13 out of the 25 youth athletes that represented Nigeria at the World Junior Athletics Championship in Poland. "PDP government that I was part of then sponsored the 13 youth athletes to Poland. But we now have a government in Ekiti that could not sponsor our youth athletes to participate in competition in nearby Ilorin. "It is indeed shameful that we have a government that is more interested in sending its party youths to South Africa for tourism, rather than supporting youth sports so that Ekiti can produce another athletes like Kayode Oluyemi, Olusoji Fasuba and Damola Osayemi. "However, let me promise our youths in Ekiti State that it is our resolve to give adequate attention to sports in Ekiti State, especially among our youths so that our State can also reap bountifully from the money spinning venture that sports have become."

Adeyeye decries non-payment of Ekiti pensioners’ gratuity Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in Ekiti State and a chieftain of Afenifere, Prince Dayo Adeyeye has decried non-payment of gratuties of public servants in the State, who retired from the public service since last year. Adeyeye, who described the non-payment as criminal, said “the government has also refused to pay the pensioners their arrears of harmonisation, which is commensurate increment in pension in line with increment of workers salaries.” Speaking through the Director General of Prince Adedayo Adeyeye Movement (PAAM), Hon Bisi Kolawole, the PDP governorship aspirant said it was painful that the same government that could not pay pensioners their gratuities since last year is now spending over N100 million to send more than 50 youths of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to South Africa on a nine days jamboree. Adeyeye lamented the inhuman manner in which pensioners in the State are being treated, saying; “when PDP was in government in the state, pensioners received their gratuities within 60 days of retirement while pension was paid on the 22nd of the month.” He described non-payment of retirees entitlements on time as sinful and a direct invitation to fraud; saying those still in service would have no option than to steal government fund in other to secure their old age. “Late 2011, a verification exercise was carried out to ascertain the number of pensioners in the state. Then, the governor’s promise was that after the verification exercise, the harmonisation arrears will be paid. But more than two years after, it has not been paid. “Instead of paying the pensioners, the State Government is busy wasting public fund on Governor Kayode Fayemi’s second term bid, advertisement of fake achievements, NGOs workshop and seminars that are not beneficial to the people. “As we speak, over 50 youths of the APC in Ekiti State are South Africa bound, and they are to spend nine days for what they termed ‘Leadership skills training’ and we ask; can’t leadership skills be learn in Nigeria? “It is therefore important that well-meaning Ekiti leaders prevail on Fayemi to stop treating our elders, who had served the state even when he (Fayemi) was still a toddler, like beggars because he too will grow old one day,” Adeyeye said. |
Fayemi, Ekiti Attorney-General, LG Service Commission boss may go to jail For disobeying the Appeal Court judgment, ordering the reinstatement of Ekiti LG Treasurers and Directors of Administration (DAs) that were sacked arbitrarily by Gomina Fayemi, the governor, State Attorney-General, Wale Fapohunda and Chairman, Local Government Service Commission, Ranti Adebisi may be committed to prison. The former LG Treasurers DAs that were sacked arbitrarily by Gomina Fayemi and were ordered reinstated by the Industrial Court, and later an Appeal Court in Ado Ekiti have filed a suit, seeking an enforcement of the Court judgment and committal of Gomina Fayemi, Fapohunda and Adebisi to prison for disobeying the court order. Hearing of the case has been fixed for December 19, 2013. Gomina Fayemi had refused to honour the Appeal Court judgment, upholding the Industrial Court judgment, reinstating the sacked LG Treasurers and DAs. Appeal Court is the final court on industrial dispute, hence Fayemi could not appeal the judgment. Gomina Fayemi's penchant for disobeying court judgement is legendary. Already, he has plunged Ekiti State into over N4bn judgment debt, courtesy of his arbitrary dissolution of Boards and commissions, sack of duly elected LG Chairmen nd councillors. Yet, he goes about preaching rule of law. #Yeyenatu.com# |

Judas Iscariot made Salvation possible for Xtians - Lai Mohammed Interim National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has hailed Judas Iscariot for decamping from Hell Fire to the APC, saying; "Judas Iscariot actually brought Salvation to the world by betraying Jesus Christ." Judas Iscariot just announced his movement from Hell Fire to the APC a few minutes ago. Reacting to the development, Lai Mohammed, in a statement issued a few minutes ago, said; "Christians should actually be worshipping Judas Iscariot, alongside Jesus Christ because it was the bold action that Judas took by betraying Jesus Christ that made salvation possible." He welcomed Judas Iscariot into the APC, saying; "Nigerians can now see that all good men are joining us to rescue the nation." Lai Mohammed said: "The reality of what just happened today is that APC is now the bride of all good men. Now that we have Judas Iscariot with us, we are sure that Satan will join us very soon. "We are particularly happy because we have a personality like Judas Iscariot, who through his progressive ingenuity betrayed our Lord Jesus Christ for us to be saved. "It was the price paid by Judas Iscariot that gave the Christians salvation, and we are sure he (Judas) will demonstrate such rare show of commitment and love for mankind now that he is member of our party." |
Ekiti 2014: Adeyeye urges protection of voters’ cards Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in Ekiti State and a Chieftain of Afenifere, Prince Dayo Adeyeye has urged registered voters in the State to protect their voters cards, alleging that; “agents of the All Progressives Congress (APC) are now going about buying voters cards and collecting people’s Voters Identification Number (VIN) and Polling Unit (PU) number.” In a release issued by the Director General of Prince Adedayo Adeyeye Movement (PAAM), Hon Bisi Kolawole, the governorship hopeful said it was criminal for anyone to be demanding for information on people’s voters’ cards before they can benefit from government programmes. Adeyeye called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Chairman, Prof Attahiru Jega to make sure that no manipulation is done to the Voters Register through unscrupulous staff of the commission. He said; “The information we are getting is that some agents of the State government are going about, collecting VIN and PU numbers of people’s voters’ cards. “We have also been told that VIN and PU numbers of civil servants are being collated through some bad eggs in INEC, with the sinister motive of getting names of the affected people deleted from the voters’ registers. “We wish to tell INEC that the PDP in Ekiti State will not accept any act of connivance with any INEC staff to deny Ekiti people the choice to elect their governor next year, as was done in the past. “It is on record that it was INEC officials that were paid N180, 000 to invalidate already thumprinted ballot papers used for the Ekiti East Constituency II. They were paid by the Action Congress Nigeria (ACN) candidate in the election, Mrs Anthonia Alaba Omonusi. “Up till today, we don’t know what has happened to Olusola Popoola, Ajayi Gbenga, Ojo Oluwafemi and Oni Babajide, the four INEC officials that were charged to court for the ‘Ibo lehin ibo’ (voting after voting) offence. “This time around, INEC should watch the activities of its staff in Ekiti because a situation where INEC officials will be the ones to connive with the APC government in the State to manipulate voters registers ahead of the 2014 governorship election will be resisted." |
Adeyeye decries Junaid Mohammed's threat of bloodshed if President Jonathan runs in 2015 Afenifere Chieftain and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in Ekiti State has described as irresponsible, the statement made by Second Republic member of the House of Representatives and Russian trained Medical Doctor, Junaid Mohammed that blood would flow on the streets of Nigeria, should President Goodluck Jonathan insist on running for the presidency in 2015. Adeyeye, who said he was worried that elders like Junaid Mohammed could be threatening bloodshed over the exercise of the constitutional right of by a citizen of Nigeria, added that; "Nigerians, especially northern leaders should call Junaid Mohammed to order before he further throws Nigeria into chaos." Junaid Mohammed was reported to have said; "Quote me, if Jonathan insists on running, there will be bloodshed and those who feel short-changed may take the warpath and the country may not be the same again. His running will amount to taking about 85 million northerners for a ride and that is half of the country’s total population. So, there will be bloodshed." Reacting through the Director General of Prince Adedayo Adeyeye Movement (PAAM), Hon. Bisi Kolawole, the governorship aspirant maintained that "President Jonathan is empowered by the 1999 Constitution to seek second term and anyone threatening bloodshed because of that is an enemy of Nigeria." He said; "It is the inalienable right of all qualified Nigerians to seek elective offices and like every other Nigerians, President Jonathan has the rights seek elective office provided he is not barred from doing so by the constitution. "Section 137 (1) of the 1999 Constitution provides that; 'A person shall not be qualified for election to the office of the President if; (b) he has been elected into such office at any two previous elections. In the case of President Jonathan, he has only be elected as President of Nigeria once." Speaking further, Adeyeye said; "Junaid Mohammed saying that President Jonathan contesting for second term will amount to taking about 85 million northerners for a ride, is like saying that anyone who is not a northerner is not qualified to rule Nigeria and that is an insult on other ethnic groups that made up Nigeria. "Is he saying that because President Jonathan is an Ijaw person, he cannot seek second term as President of Nigeria? Would Junaid Mohammed have said that if President Umar Musa Yar'Adua had not died? Should we all now accept to play a second fiddle in a country where we call ours? "Like I have maintained, President Jonathan will seek second term and Nigerians will re-elect him, leaving the likes of Junaid Mohammed to flow in the bloodshed that they are inviting on Nigerians." |

Adeyeye decries parlous state of hospitals in Ekiti, calls for Govt's urgent attention Afenifere Chieftain and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in Ekiti State has called on the State Government to pay more attention to the parlous state of hospitals in the State, saying; "the present state of infrastructures and medical services in hospitals in Ekiti State should be a source of concern to well-meaning indigenes of the State." He admonished the state government to stop paying lip service to health care delivery in the State, adding that; "spending a whooping sum of N70 million on a 'Health Mission' programme in which paracetamol, cotton wool, cotton bud, soap and toothpaste are distributed when hospitals in the State are under-staffed with dealing infrastructures is a waste of public fund." In a release issued in Ado-Ekiti today, by the Director General of Prince Adedayo Adeyeye Movement (PAAM), Hon. Bisi Kolawole, the PDP governorship aspirant said he was worried that all the 18 General Hospitals in the State were no longer functioning, having been closed down because of a renovation project that has been abandoned. He said; "In June, this year, we were told that contracts were awarded for renovation of the 18 General Hospitals in the State at a cost of over N1 billion, with three months as deadline for completion. "More than five months after, contractors have not been mobilized even after many of them have reached the mandatory 30 percent completion, thus making the contractors to abandon the site. "Right now, the General Hospitals in Ikole, Oye, Ilupeju, Aiyede, Ikere, Okemesi, Iyin, Aramoko and others towns are shut and the people of Ekiti are the ones that are suffering while the government is busy paying the Deputy Governor's first daughter a sum of N70 million for a wasteful Health Mission programme, with N630m million already wasted on the programme! "Even in the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH), Ado-Ekiti, the situation is alarming. "Patients are now being made to bring fans and water from their homes while one nurse is being made to attend to over 40 patients as a result of dearth of medical personnel. "Unfortunately, the hospital was not in this state when the present government took over from the immediate past PDP government. "As at October 15, 2010 that the PDP government was removed, there were 36 Consultant, 90 Doctors, 271 Nurses and 12 Pharmacists at the Teaching Hospital. Greater percentage of these medical personnel have since left the hospital to seek greener pastures elsewhere because of the government's insensitive to their welfare. "On November 2, 2013, a nurse at the teaching hospital, Mrs Akinniyi was almost strange to death by a relative of one the patients who died at the female surgical ward of the hospital, allegedly because of non-availability of medical personnel to attend to the patient on time. "The State government should therefore see this appeal beyond politics and pay more attention to health care delivery in the state by fixing the decayed infrastructure in the hospitals and employing more medical personnels to work in the hospitals." |
Senator Arise rolls out N10m daily jackpot lottery From tomorrow (Saturday), Nigerians will have the opportunity of becoming millionaire by just playing Quick Lotto with N100 or N200, Senator Ayo Arise, who represented Ekiti North Senatorial District in the Sixth Assembly, has disclosed. Arise, in a release issued today described Quick Lotto, as a lottery through which he intends to make instant millionaires in Nigeria, adding that; he conceptualised the Lotto Game out of his desire to create wealth for the people. He said Quick Lotto would be played over the Internet, on ATM, telephones or point of sales terminal and that “prospective players can participate in the daily and weekly game for N100 and N200, respectively and a minimum of N10 million will be won every day.” Arise, who was chairman Senate Committee on Privatisation, disclosed that his company, Fortune Games was partnering with First Bank in the venture, which he said was his own little contribution to the efforts of government to promote public/ private partnership. On what motivated him into the lottery business, Arise said; “I believe if we all don’t focus on looking at the government that we can make money from government that we can at least make money and be of service to this society. Nigeria will certainly move forward and progress. So, it isn’t really for politics. And for me, it will provide an opportunity to be further close to the less privileged in society. “I will be very happy, if I wake up every day and I have created about ten millionaires in Nigeria. I will be able to sleep better, because there is no sense in being wealthy and being afraid to go out. It isn’t my ideal kind of society. “You have poor people in America and you have extremely wealthy people, but everybody minds his or her business, because they know the opportunity is there for them to create that wealth for themselves. So, I will continue to encourage the government not to compete with businessmen; let them provide the enabling environment for competition and once that is there, you will see the ingenuity of Nigerians to begin to take the front seat.” |
Leave Bode George, Oyinlola, Oni out of your US drug ordeal - Oni's aide tell Kashamu Former governor of Ekiti State, Chief Segun Oni has described as shameless, claim by controversial businessman and self-appointed Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader in Ogun State, Mr. Buruji Kashamu, that he (Oni), former Deputy National Chairman of the PDP, Chief Bode George and former Osun State Governor, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola were behind the media reports on the last Monday's Appeal Court judgment, vacating an order of perpetual injunction granted by Justice Okechukwu Okeke (rtd.) of the Federal High Court, restraining the Attorney-General of the Federation from extraditing Kasamu to the US to answer charges on alleged drug-related offences. Oni, who advised Kashamu to go and sort out whatever criminal matters that he had with the government of the United States of America instead of running from one court to another, seeking court orders to stop the Federal Government from extraditing him, said; "a clear conscience they say fear no accusation." Kashamu had said that he had information that Chief Bode George was at the head of those bent on blackmailing him for cheap political gains and that he (Bode George) was being assisted by Oyinlola and Oni. Reacting, Oni's Media Aide, Mr Lere Olayinka said, it was so shameless that a character like Buruji Kashamu could be associated with decent people in Nigeria because; "no child of Oni's father will be associated with the kind of crime he (Kashamu) is alleged to be associated with and still be talking." He challenged Kashamu to go to the US and clear himself of the allegations against him, instead of trying to drag decent people into issues concerning his messy past that is obviously hunting him. He said further that it was now clear that Kashamu, who always boasted of having the entire judiciary under his armpit was now meeting judges who cannot be bought and looking for scape goats for his travails. Olayinka queried; "Was it Bode George, Oyinlola or Oni that made him (Kashamu) not to go to school when his peers were doing so but instead opted for petty crimes? "Was the trio of Bode George, Oyinlola and Oni responsible for his committing crime, to the extent that he is now being hunted by the US government? "And if the US government had not asked the Federal Government for Kashamu's extradition as he claimed, why did he rushed to the Federal High Court to get an injunction, restraining the Attorney-General of the Federation from entertaining or making any order whatsoever in respect of any request by the US Government for his extradition to the US to answer charges on alleged drug-related offences? "If the Court Appeal now refused to sustain the injunction he fraudulently obtained from one of his henchmen at the Federal High Court, was Oni, Oyinlola or Bode George part of the Appeal Court Panel that gave the judgment? "If truly it was his look-alike brother that was actually involved in the drugs crime in the US and that the look-alike brother is dead as he claimed, what is stopping Kashamu from surrendering himself to the US government to clear himself? "And was it also Kashamu's look-alike brother that escaped from the Customs cell when Oyinlola was Lagos State Administrator? Was it his dead look-alike brother that wrecked the bank in Cotonou with $120 million scam? Was it his dead look-alike brother that obtained N5 billion from Oceanic Bank and refused to pay? "As per the mysterious Kashamu's look-alike brother, where is his picture? When and where did he died? Where was he buried? Where is his birth, marriage and death certificates? Where are his wife and children? "Isn't it funny that Kashamu is just realising that every crime will have its own payback time? "Like we have maintained in the past, Kashamu should carry his cross alone and leave decent Nigerians out of his present travails, which must obviously be a payback for his crimes." |

Ekiti killing: Adeyeye warns against frustrating suspects’ trial Afenifere chieftain and Peoples Democratic Party governorship aspirant in Ekiti State, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, has warned the state government against any plan to frustrate the trial of suspects in the murder of Foluso Ogundare in Emure- Ekiti. Ogundare, a supporter of House of Representatives member and All Progressive Congress governorship aspirant, Opeyemi Bamide, was shot by suspected political hoodlums on Sunday, November 3, 2013 in Emure Ekiti at the meeting of Opeyemi loyalists. The police in Ekiti last week said they had arrested the suspected killers. Adeyeye alleged that the government was planning to make a “no-case” submission through the state Ministry of Justice when the suspects get to court.” In a statement on Monday by the Director General of Adeyeye’s campaign organisation, Bisi Kolawole, the PDP chieftain said, “Chief Adeleye Awolumate, Kehinde Fajuyi, Michael Ipinlaye, Ayo Murphy Jeje, Mrs Juliana Adewumi and Foluso Ogundare are all victims of political violence, courtesy of (Governor Kayode) Fayemi’s thugs. They were killed by people that can be identified by those who saw them committing the crime. “When those who murdered Chief Awolumate were arrested by the police and charged to court, it was the Fayemi-led government that got them freed through the State Attorney-General who made a no-case submission to exonerate them. “Also, the trial of the Ekiti State Interim Chairman of the APC, Jide Awe and others charged to court for the murder of Ayo Jeje and Juliana Adewumi is being frustrated by the State government. “Now, having failed to secure the release of those arrested by the police in connection with the murder of Foluso Ogundare, Fayemi is going to adopt the same strategy he adopted in the case of Awolumate, Ayo Jeje and Juliana Adewumi by frustrating their trial since they will be charged to court in Ado-Ekiti. “We wish to call on President Goodluck Jonathan and the National Security Adviser to see to it that Fayemi allows the law to take its course on the murder of Foluso Ogundare. “Failure to do this like we have maintained before, is to say that Ekiti people can now go about defending themselves and also punishing perpetrators of political killings by themselves, the effects of which will no doubt be catastrophic.” |
Put Nigeria in the hands of Tinubu/APC, it is sure that in six months, the original Nigeria would have been sold, leaving the photocophy! |
Save Ekiti From Gov Fayemi's Blood-Sucking Demons Being full text of the Press Conference addressed yesterday, November 6, 2013, by the Convener, Save Ekiti Coalition (SEC), Lere Olayinka on political violence in Ekiti State Gentlemen of the Press, We have called you here to express our concern on the spate of political violence being witnessed in our dear State, Ekiti since Governor Kayode Fayemi assumed office, which has led to the death of six people. On Sunday in Emure-Ekiti, 37 year-old Foluso Ogundare was brutally murdered by people suspected to be supporters of the Governor Fayemi’s faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC), thereby bringing the number of dead victims of Governor Fayemi’s political intolerance to six, and we wonder how many people will still be killed before the 2014 election. Before the Sunday incident, in which a woman, Madam Beatrice Ige was also shot in the buttocks, Ekiti State under Governor Fayemi had witnessed various attacks on perceived political opponents of the governor. On November 18, 2010, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman for Osun-Ekiti Ward in Moba Local Government, Chief Adeleye Awolumate was killed in Otun Ekiti by Fayemi's thugs. He was among the victims of the reign of terror unleashed on the state on Thursday, November 18, 2010 by the Fayemi’s thugs. The deceased, who was badly injured, was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, Ido-Ekiti where he died on November 21 after a spirited battle to save his life by doctors in the hospital. Another major victim of the terror gang was a six months old pregnant woman, Adeola Akande. Adeola was being slaughtered like a goat until she was rescued from the thugs. She however lost her pregnancy! Those who murdered Chief Awolumate were arrested by the police and subsequently charged to court. They were however freed; courtesy of the Fayemi-led government. On March 23, 2011 at Kota, Omuo- Ekiti, Kehinde Fajuyi and Michael Ipinlaye were shot dead by thugs and policemen sent by Fayemi’s men. Interestingly, it was only the policemen that were charged to court and convicted for murder while the thugs, who accompanied them, were left untouched. On March 30, 2013, Ayo Murphy Jeje was shot dead at Erijiyan Ekiti by thugs led by the Interim State Chairman of the APC, Chief Jide Awe. He was among the members of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) from Erijiyan-Ekiti that were billed to decamp to the PDP on Sunday, March 31, 2013. A meeting on their planned defection to the PDP was being held at about 8pm on Saturday, March 30, 2013 when hoodlums attacked them, killing Ayo Jeje and injuring several others. On that same day, 76 year old Mrs Juliana Adewumi was also shot severally; she died few weeks later at the FMC, Ido-Ekiti. As usual, the trial of the APC Chairman, Jide Awe and others charged to court for the murder of Ayo Jeje and Juliana Adewumi has been frustrated by the State government. Apart from the above-listed murders, meetings of opposition parties, especially the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and members of the APC perceived to be opposed to the second term ambition of Governor Fayemi are being disrupted while billboards are being destroyed. As at today, a PDP governorship aspirant, Prince Dayo Adeyeye is in court, demanding N100 million compensation from the government for the destruction of his campaign billboards by the State Signage Agency. And not-minding this, the new billboards that he erected few weeks ago have been vandalised. Many of us here witnessed the dastardly incident of Thursday, September 19, 2013, when Governor Fayemi unleashed gun-wielding thugs on the people of Ado-Ekiti in his bid to prevent the launching of the Ekiti Bibiire Coalition billed for that day. Funny enough, instead of apprehending the government sponsored thugs, who blocked major roads in Ado-Ekiti, brandishing guns, cutlasses, knives and other dangerous weapons, the State Police Command chose to arrest supporters of the Ekiti Bibiire Coalition, claiming that the programme contravened Section 90 of the Electoral Act. The question we have not stopped asking ourselves is that; which one is criminal and deserved prompt intervention of the police between the thugs that Governor Fayemi unleashed on the people that blocked roads in Ado-Ekiti while brandishing dangerous weapons and supporters of Hon Opeyemi Bamidele that were engaged in a peaceful rally? Perhaps, if police and other security agents had been alive to their responsibilities, by making sure that all the KNOWNED perpetrators of previous political violence in the State were punished in accordance with the law, those who openly invaded the meeting of Ekiti Bibiire Coalition in Emure-Ekiti on Sunday, carrying guns and other dangerous weapons and killing Foluso Ogundare would not have had the effrontery to do so. Foluso Ogundare was killed because there is a kind of a regime of impunity in Ekiti State and unless the security agencies, especially the police put a stop to this by making sure that those who perpetrated the Emure killing are brought to book, there will definitely anarchy in Ekiti State anytime soon! Our fear is further heightened by the fact that activities towards the 2014 governorship election will soon peaked and it appears that Ekiti State is in for another round of blood-letting. This is moreso that there is every possibility that the people might be pushed to such a state that they will begin to defend themselves against Governor Fayemi's thugs and the result of this is better imagined than experienced. However, this can be nipped in the bud if some of the above listed murder cases are resolved and those found culpable made to face the law irrespective of their status. It is therefore our plea to President Goodluck Jonathan to come to the aid of Ekiti people by directing the police to make sure that those who killed Foluso Ogundare and others must be arrested, prosecuted and punished, irrespective of their position in government. As for us in the Save Ekiti Colaition, we will no longer keep silent while Fayemi and his blood sucking vampires keep killing innocent people in Ekiti. We have resolved that the time to save our dear Ekiti State from Governor Fayemi and his regime of vampires is now, and there is no looking back! Thank you. Lere Olayinka, Convener, Save Ekiti Coalition (SEC) Oke Adekunle, Protem Secretary |
Patient's Relative Beat Nurse to Stupor in Ekiti University Hospital, Nurses declare strike Relative of a patient, who died at the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH), Ado-Ekiti beat a female Nurse, Mrs Akinniyi to stupor yesterday. The incident, which happened during the wee hours of yesterday, November 2, 2013 was triggered by the death of a patient, admitted at the Female Surgical Ward. The patient died owing to non-availability of a Nurse to attend to her as Mrs Akinniyi was the only Nurse on Night Shift, attending to over 30 Post-Surgery patients. Sources disclosed that a relative of the dead patient descended on Nurse Akinniyi, beating her blue black. The nurse that was nearly strangulated is still critically ill and on admission at the EKSUTH Accident and Emergency (A & E) section. Angered by this development, Nurses at the Hospital declared 24hrs strike immediately, demanding that the State Governor, Kayode Fayemi should employ more Nurses. Investigations revealed that only one Nurse each attend to over 30 critically ill post-surgical patients at the Female Surgical and Male Surgical wards. The A & E department is manned by only two Nurses for a whole night shift with over 50 seriously sick patients, facing challenges of patient's relatives frequent calls for attention. The other time, a certain cousin of the Ekiti House of Assemble Speaker slapped a doctor, who is said to have suffered partial hearing loss. Reason was that the only doctor in A & E was attending to other patients who were on the queue before him. Further investigation revealed that last year's December (2012), about 6,000 poor unemployed youths of varying fields/professions obtained Employment Form at N5,000 each, wrote exams, did final interview but 11 months after, Gomina Fayemi has refused to give go ahead for them to be employed. It should be recalled that I have reported several times the rot in the EKSUTH and the non-availability of medical personnel at the Hospital. Relatives of patients are the ones bringing fans and water to the hospital. As at the time Fayemi became governor, there were 36 Consultants, 90 Doctors, 271 Nurses and 12 Pharmacists working at the University Teaching Hospital. 70 percent of these medical personnel have since left the hospital due to Gomina Fayemi's refusal to the State Government's nonchalant attitude towards their welfare. "Why will patient not beat doctors and nurses when they see their sick relatives dying because of lack of medical personnel to attend to them. A day is coming that angry patients will set the hospital on fire. Please help save our soul in EKSUTH," a nurse said. So, over to you, Gomina Fayemi. When are you going to employ doctors and nurses to work in EKSUTH? Abi na like this we go dey go, with continuous assault on doctors and nurses by angry relatives of patients ? |
Disgraced former President Court of Appeal, Justice Isa Ayo Salami with Ekiti State Gov, Kayode Fayemi and Osun State Gov, Rauf Aregbesola, at a book launch in Abuja yesterday. Fayemi and Aregbesola were judicially installed by Salami and they must have gone to Abuja to publicly solidarise with the man who made them governors. An open show of criminal conviviality? Or show of impunity? That we are together, and so what? Abi why were other ACN/APC Govs in Yorubaland not there apart from those who benefited directly from Salami's judgements? Govs Fashola, Ajimobi and Amosun - why were they not there? Why was the Governor of Kwara, Salami's home state not at the book launch? Just waiting for Salami to be unveiled as the Deputy National Chairman (Judiciary) to the APC and one of the Consultants to Tinubu on Judiciary Matters...

Adeyeye promises increased welfare for Ekiti teachers, says competency test unnecessary Afenifere Chieftain and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in Ekiti State, Prince Dayo Adeyeye has promised to use increased welfare, promotions as at when due, capacity building through training and refresher courses, among other incentives to spur teachers in the State to perform their duties optimally if he becomes the State governor next year. The governorship hopeful, who made this known during a meeting with some stakeholders in the State’s Education sector over the weekend, said; “The controversial Teachers Competency Test, which the State government tried to force on the teachers was unnecessary and a waste of public fund and we are not going to burden our teachers with such tests.” In a release issued today by the Director General of Prince Adedayo Adeyeye Movement (PAAM), Hon. Bisi Kolawole, the PDP governorship aspirant said “when I was Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education (SUBEB), we cleared more than five years arrears of teachers’ promotion within the first six months of my assumption of office and the records are there.” He challenged the State Government to come out with the names of teachers they have promoted since the PDP left government three years ago, saying “They announced that they were going to begin promotion of teachers three weeks ago, but up till today, has any teacher been promoted?” Adeyeye said; “Education is our major industry in Ekiti and we are going to make it our priority. We are going to make our public schools so attractive that parents will prefer sending their wards to public schools to private schools. “We did it when I was the Chairman of SUBEB and the records are there. During the three and half years of PDP administration, we established over 50 new primary schools, constructed over 2,000 classrooms, including 75 storey buildings, while over 6,000 primary school teachers many of whom had been stagnated on a particular salary grade level were promoted. “The improvement in the quality of infrastructure and standard of education in the public primary schools in the state then was responsible for the sharp increase in the enrolment of pupils in public primary schools which rose from 125,461 in 2007 to 153,303 in 2010. “It was also these improvements that made it possible for pupils in public school in the state to perform excellently in national examinations and win laurels in both regional and international competitions including the 2009 UNICEF Quiz competition, the 2009 Mathematics Association of Nigeria Quiz Competition, the Southwest School Debate and the 2009 National Science Association of Nigeria Project Exhibition Competition. “The PDP administration was also the first to implement the new Teachers Salary Scale structure in the south-western part of Nigeria, but today, those who promised Eldorado have reduced the 27.5 percent TSS to 16 percent. “Therefore, our antecedents are enough assurance for teachers in Ekiti State to know that with me as governor , they won’t be deprived of all that they are entitled to.” |
Adeyeye decries stoppage of 800 Ekiti LG workers', political office holders salary Afenifere Chieftain and People's Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in Ekiti State, Prince Dayo Adeyeye has decried the stoppage of the September salary of 792 local council workers, and over 70 political office holders in the State and alleged plans to stop the October salary of many others. He said it was wrong for the State government to stop the council workers' and political office holders salary without following the due process stipulated by the civil service rules. Director General of Prince Adedayo Adeyeye Movement (PAAM), Hon Bisi Kolawole, who said this in a statement issued in Ado-Ekiti today, added that; "concluding that the local government workers erred and going ahead to punish them by depriving them of their salary without giving them fair hearing is to say the least, autocratic." September salary of the affected 792 workers was not paid because they were allegedly not on found on their duty posts when the task force set up by the government to authenticate the actual number of staff at council areas arrived at their respective council areas. Also, salaries of over 70 political appointees in the State were allegedly stopped for reasons bordering on alleged disloyalty to the State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi. However, Adeyeye said; "even if the affected council workers were absent from their duty posts as alleged, what the government ought to have done was to make them defend the alleged absenteeism before a panel set up by the State Local Government Service Commission (LGSC). "It is the LGSC panel that should have recommended appropriate sanctions for the affected workers, after they must have been allowed the freedom to defend themselves. "But what we are seeing in Ekiti is a situation where workers salaries are withheld and political office holders are not paid because they are suspected to be sympathetic to an opposition within the ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC). "Funny enough, among the about 80 workers affected by the non payment of September salary in Ado Local government were Confidential Secretaries to the Council Chairman, Director of Administration, Treasurer and Director of Finance. These Confidential Secretaries are the ones who open the offices of their respective offices in the morning. "We therefore call on well-meaning Nigerians to prevail on Governor Fayemi to stop his draconian regime in Ekiti State by paying the council workers and political appointees, whose salaries he stopped so that they can be able to feed their families." |
Adeyeye Calls For Investigation of APC Chairman's Claim That PDP Plot to Disrupt President Jonathan Saturday's Visit to Ekiti Afenifere Chieftain and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in Ekiti State, Prince Dayo Adeyeye has called on the Police and the State Security Service (SSS) in Ekiti State to investigate claim by the All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman, Mr Jide Awe that the PDP was planing to cause chaos during President Goodluck Jonathan’s visit to the state on Saturday. Adeyeye, who said he was miffed that up till now, Jide Awe had not been questioned four days after he made the allegation said it was only in Nigeria that people just wake up and make spurious allegations concerning the national security and security agents will not do anything. President Jonathan will be visiting Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD) on Saturday to commission the state-of-art College of Engineering of the school and to witness the maiden convocation ceremony of the private university. The acting state Chairman of APC, Chief Jide Awe, during a press conference in Ado Ekiti, on Monday, had alleged that there was a plan by the PDP to unleash terror on the state during the president’s visit in order to indict the APC. In a statement signed by the Direction General of Prince Adedayo Adeyeye Movement (PAAM), the governorship aspirant, described President Jonathan's planned visit to Ekiti to attend ABUAD's first convocation ceremony as a mark of honour for Ekiti State, and one of its icons, Chief Afe Babalola. While congratulating Chief Afe Babalola on the first convocation of ABUAD, Adeyeye said it was a continuation of the APC government's contempt for Chief Afe Babalola that the spurious allegation was made so as to dissuade the president from attending the programme. "This is the fourth day that Jide Awe, a man that is standing trial for alleged murder of Ayo Murphy Jeje and 76 year old Madam Juliana Adewunmi addressed the press and alleged that we in the PDP in Ekiti State were planning to unleash terror on the state during the president’s visit in order to indict the APC. "He (Jide Awe) went further to alleged that the PDP in the Ekiti State planned to heat up the polity for possible declaration of a state of emergency by the Federal Government. "In other countries of the world, whoever made allegations like these would have been questioned by Security Agencies and made to shed more lights on the allegations. "However, here in Nigeria, it appears that people are at liberty to accuse others of planning to attack the number citizen in the country. If not, Jide Awe would have by now be made to substantiate his allegations by providing proofs. "It is therefore not too late for the police and other security agencies in the State to live up to their responsibilities by investigating allegations made by the APC chairman so as to unravel the veracity of the claims," Adeyeye said. |
Latest on MOB vs Fayemi: ...Tinubu threatens MOB ...MOB tells Tinubu to go to hell! From all indications, the crisis in All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State will not be settled as Hon Michael Opeyemi Bamidele (MOB) has told the party national leader, Bola Tinubu to go to hell, saying; "No Jupiter can stop me from contesting elections in Ekiti." MOB and some of his supporters met with Tinubu at the Swimming Pool side of his Ikoyi, Lagos residence between 1am and 4am today where MOB pointedly told Tinubu that; "I will rather offend you than to offend Ekiti people." Tinubu had read the riot acts to MOB, asking him (MOB) to drop his governorship ambition in the interest of his party (APC) and investments in Ekiti. "I will fight with all that I have if you do anything that will injure my interest in Ekiti. You know how much I invested to bring this my new party, APC to life and how much I have invested in the Ekiti State project. If you do anything that will divide the party in Ekiti and ruin my investments, I will fight you will everything that I have," Tinubu was said to have fumed. Responding, MOB told Tinubu that no Jupiter can stop him from contesting the governorship election and the he will rather offend Tinubu than to offend Ekiti people. After the meeting, which ended at about 4:45am, MOB and his supporters made to leave Tinubu's house without eating the food prepared for them. A palpably unsettled Tinubu had said; "Are you not going to eat my food or are you angry with me? Supporters of MOB echoed; "We are angry with you, Ekiti people are angry with you and we are going to free Ekiti from your control." Earlier, MOB and his supporters had visited the APC Interim National Chairman, Chief Bisi Akande at his Ila-Orangun residence. Chief Akande was said to have lamented that he had already lost hope in Governor Kayode Fayemi and his second term ambition and that he was no longer interested in coming to Ekiti for any reconciliation. He went on to say that should MOB and his supporters decide to go to another party, they won't be committing any crime because the APC does not have any member yet. He said until APC conducts it membership registration, no one can claim membership of the party and anyone that goes to another party cannot be said to have decamped from APC. |
Fayemi's Three Years Reign In Ekiti Is Of Debt, Blood-letting, Capital Flight – Adeyeye Afenifere Chieftain and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in Ekiti State, Prince Dayo Adeyeye has described the three years of Dr Kayode Fayemi’s government in the State as “years of debt, blood-letting and capital flight in Ekiti State.” He said; “By this time next year, God would have delivered Ekiti State and its people from those who are using the State’s resources to develop other lands while plunging the State into unnecessary debts.” In a release issued today, Adeyeye while assessing the three-year reign of the governor noted that there was nothing to celebrate except debt, bloodshed and political intolerance that have become the government’s identities. “Today, Ekiti people must be remembering with pains in their hearts the judicial imposition of Kayode Fayemi as their governor. “Ekiti people must be pained because if not because of that judicial imposition, their State won’t be under the yoke of over N36 billion debt, their three universities would not have been merged into one, their State won’t be owing over N3 billion judgment debts and most importantly; civil servants, teachers, local government workers and health workers won’t be living under the fear of losing their jobs. “Most importantly, Chief Adeleye Awolumate would not have been murdered in Otun, Ayo Mur[hy Jeje and 76 year old Madam Juliana Adewumi would not have been killed in Erijiyan-Ekiti if Fayemi had not gotten to power through the back door,” Adeyeye said. While describing projects being commissioned by the governor to mark his third year anniversary as cosmetic, Adeyeye said; “It is only a government that does not mean well for the people that would spend borrowed funds on projects like construction of new government house, government pavilion, civic centre, generator powered street lights, laying of asphalt on already asphalted roads, planting of flowers, among others questionable projects and be celebrating it.” He said; “Funny enough, all the projects executed or being executed by the immediate past PDP government and were roundly condemned by Fayemi when he assumed office are the ones he is now commissioning and advertising as his achievements. “Yesterday (Monday), the governor commissioned the 11.64km Irele-Ponyan (Kogi State) road. This was the same road that Fayemi accused the PDP government of behaving like Father Christmas by constructing roads beyond Ekiti State borders. “In 2011, Fayemi’s Contract/Consultancy Review Committee had listed roads constructed outside Ekiti State to include Otun-Osan-Ora (Osun), Iludun-Eda Oniyo-Oba Ayegunle (Kwara), Irele-Ponyan (Kogi) and Isinbode-Iro-Irun (Ondo), demanding that a total sum of N787,659,786.81 spent on the roads be refunded. “Interestingly, these roads are the ones now being commissioned by the governor.” While lamenting the plunging of the State into over N3 billion judgment debts by the Fayemi-led government through illegal sack of members of statutory commissions, boards and duly elected local government chairmen and councillors, he assured that God will put an end to the mismanagement of the State resources next year by enthroning a PDP government. |
Gomina Fayemi's Hatred For Ekiti Teachers On Saturday, October 5, 2013, the World Teachers Day was celebrated worldwide. Instead of attending the World Teachers Day celebration in Ado-Ekiti, Gomina Fayemi further demonstrated his contempt for the teachers by choosing to travel to UK to go and escort his godfather, Sen Bola Tinubu back to Nigeria. That same day too, Fayemi elder sister, Mrs Oloro who is the Chairman, Governing Council of College of Health Tech, Ijero-Ekiti was having her child's wedding in Akure but to Gomina Fayemi, escorting Tinubu back to Nigeria was more important than attending his cousin's wedding. Note that Governors Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State, Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State and Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State were in their respective States, attending the World Teachers Day celebration. It is on record that since he became governor, Gomina Fayemi has never attended the World Teachers Day in person. In 2011, he sent his deputy while he cancelled that of 2012 even though the teachers ignored him and celebrated the 2012 World Teachers Day in Ado-Ekiti, contrary to the state government’s directive that the annual celebration should be cancelled. #Diary Of Fayemi's Contempt for World Teachers Day# 1. Ekiti teachers ignore gov’s order, hold World Teachers Day October 6, 2012 • By Our Reporter From CHARLES ADEGBITE, Ado-Ekiti Teachers in Ekiti State yesterday celebrated the 2012 World Teachers Day in Ado-Ekiti, contrary to the state government’s directive that the annual celebration should be cancelled. The teachers, under the aegis of Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), gathered at their state secretariat, where they raised series of sarcastic songs to deride the Governor Kayode Fayemi administration, who they perceived as anti-teachers. Their anger against the government began to manifest on Thursday, when the Commissioner for Education, Dr. Mrs. Eniola Ajayi, held a stakeholders meeting with some selected teachers at Olaoluwa Muslim Grammar School, Ado Ekiti, who were called to ruminate on woeful performances of students in internal and external examinations in recent times. The Ministry of Education later announced on state radio and television that the event had been cancelled. This announcement irked the entire teachers populace and forced them to start getting set for war. While addressing journalists on this development, the NUT Chairman in the state, Com Kayode Akosile, described the government’s directive as embarrassing, shocking and a declaration of war on Ekiti teachers. He said Ekiti teachers had been having a robust relationship with the government until they refused to write the test prescribed by the state government tagged Teachers Development Needs Assessment (TDNA), meant to examine the competency of his members. He said the teachers met the first unexpected shocker of their lives under Fayemi government, when it cancelled 27 percent peculiar allowance to teachers on the premise that it was about to implement relativity allowance and minimum wage to Ekiti workers. The NUT chairman said that government’s step could only be counter-productive rather than producing the needed remedial step to wipe out decadence in the educational sector. He said no efforts will be spared to ensure that no teacher is sanctioned for not appearing at his duty post yesterday, insisting: “October 5 had been adopted by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) to be Teachers Day. So, I don’t think it should be taken to be an offence if our people decided to hold the celebration.” 2. Protests mar Teachers Day celebration in Ekiti October 06, 2011 at 1:00 am in news BY GBENGA ARIYIBI ADO-EKITI—Protests, Wednesday, marred the celebration of this year’s World Teachers Day in Ekiti State, as members of the Nigeria Union of Teachers, NUT, the umbrella body for teachers, refused to participate in the match past to commemorate the occasion. The well attended ceremony took place at the Sport Arena of the Christ School, Ado Ekiti where the Deputy-Governor of the state, Mrs Funmilayo Adunni Olayinka stood in for the state governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi. Adeyeye promises to re-introduce School Feeding Programme in Ekiti Afenifere Chieftain and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in Ekiti State has promised to re-introduced the School Feeding Programme being ran by the immediate past PDP government, which was stopped by the Dr Kayode Fayemi-led All Progressives Congress (APC) if becomes the State governor next year. He decried the stoppage of the programme, saying; "When I was the Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), we were giving our pupils free eggs and cocoa drink and. But in demonstration of their hatred for Ekiti children, those in government now stopped the programme without considering its effects on our school pupils and the economy of the State." Adeyeye, who was addressing a mammoth crowd of PDP members in Ilawe-Ekiti, headquarters of Ekiti South-West Local Government, Igede-Ekiti, headquarters of Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government and Ado-Ekiti yesterday, said apart from providing food and necessary nutrients for pupils of public schools in Ekiti, the School Feeding Programme also boosted poultry business in the State. The Segun Oni-led PDP government in Ekiti State launched the school feeding programming on October 9, 2008, whereby eggs and chocolate were served to pupils in public primary schools and Junior Secondary Schools throughout the state. "In India, where the government has been involved in giving free daily meal to about 50 million pupils, reports show that the school feeding programme became an incentive that attracted children to school. "When we were running the programme, enrolment and attendance in public primary and secondary schools in Ekiti State increased through the programme while poultry business also boomed because the government mandated the egg suppliers, that were supplying over one million eggs per day to have their own poultry farms. "We are therefore going to re-introduce the programme so that our school pupils, who are unhappy now because the programme was stopped can be happy going to school again," Adeyeye said. Also speaking during the meeting, Patron of the PDP National Youth Vanguard and leader of the party in Igede-Ekiti, Ambassador Gbenga Olofin said it was the collective resolve of the party leaders and members in Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government that the Ekiti South Senatorial District must produce the next governor of the State. He described Adeyeye as the suitable governorship candidate for the PDP in the 2014 election. Adding her own voice to the agitation for the Southern Senatorial District to produce the next governor, former Chairman of Ado Local Government, Mrs Tosin Aluko it will be unfair for anybody from the Central and Northern Senatorial Districts to be aspiring to get the PDP ticket at this time. She said since the Central had produced governors twice and the North had done same, it was after the South had spent its own eight years that the governorship can return to the Central. |
The Movement is gathering momentum, Ekiti pple are ready to go! Let Mr Commissioner of Police, who is more at home arresting pple for holding peaceful rally (citing breach of Section 90 of the Electoral Act), instead of Gomina Fayemi's THUGS that killed Adeleye Awolumate, Ayo Muphy Jeje, Juliana Adewumi and others know that no one fights against Ekiti pple and succeed. If he has not read history, let Fayemi, the holder of Phd (History of War) tell him what happened in Okemesi, Igbajo etc between 1877 and 1886! Mr Sotonye Wakama must arrest those Fayemi's THUGS that caused chaos in Ado-Ekiti on Thursday. Failure to do this is a clear declaration of war against Ekiti people by the Commissioner of Police and let him be assured that he will have more than enuf pple to arrest! Henceforth, I will no longer keep silent on the partisan activities of Mr Sotonye Wakama and his men. He demonstrated his bias in support of Gomina Fayemi's draconian rule when I was arrested and detained last year and he has not changed. Enough is Enough! If you love Ekiti and you want peace to return to the State, pls share this on your Facebook Walls, BC it thru ur BBM and WhatApps, publish it on your Blogs, let the whole world see that you and I did not keep silent when Bashorun Gaa Kayode Fayemi and CP Sotonye Wakama were wagging war against Ekiti pple. Enough I say is Enough! #I Rep Team Fayemi Must Go (FMG) party# |
