Yes but you're better off with YouTube if you want to make anything meaningful and substantinable.

They still pay depending on traffic and your niche. If you are in health, finance or education/scholarships. Just focus on profitable local niches with high volume + decent advertiser competition. News sites are overcrowded but worth a try if you know your SEO skills.
