Abuja

While the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday closed ranks with troubled Senator Ali Modu-Sheriff and gave its nod for him to continue in office as the National Chairman, and gave blessing to the conduct of the party’s National Convention, a member of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party, Alhaji Adewole Adeyanju, the National Auditor, has dragged the party to court, seeking injunction to stop the convention.
Specifically, in the affidavit deposed to before a Federal High Court in Lagos, Adeyanju asked the court to stop the party from conducting elections into the offices of National Chairman, National Secretary and National Auditor.

The trio of Ali Modu-Sheriff, Prof Wale Oladipo and Adeyanju were listed as 1st to 3rd Plaintiff in the case.

The court has issued an interlocutory injunction against the party restraining it from carrying out the elections into the offices.

Aside from the PDP, the  Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has also had a restraining order issued against it, preventing it from monitoring the conduct of any election into the offices.

The elections into the three offices were scheduled to take place alongside others at the national convention of the party slated for Port Harcourt on Saturday, May 21, 2016.

In the case with suit number FHC/L/CS/61 3/2016, dated 6th of May, 2016, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the PDP were listed as the 1st and 2nd defendants.

The plaintiffs prayed for the following orders; “An order of interlocutory injunction restraining the 2nd defendant from conducting any election into the offices of the National Chairman, National Secretary and National Auditor occupied  by the 1st, 2nd and 3rd plaintiffs, respectively pending the hearing and determination of the substantive suit.

And for such further order(s) the court may deem fit to make in the circumstances.

According to the court order dated May 12, 2016, the affidavit in support of the Motion on Notice and the exhibits attached were deposed to by Alhaji Adeyanju.

In response to the submission made by the plaintiffs’ counsels, the court presided over by Justice I.N. Buba, granted the following: “an order of interlocutory injunction as requested by the Plaintiffs/ Applicants restraining the 2nd Defendant/Respondent from conducting any election into the offices of the National Chairman, National Secretary and National Auditor occupied by the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Plaintiffs respectively pending the hearing and determination of the substantive suit.

“An order of interlocutory injunction to the Plaintiffs/Applicants restraining the 1st Defendant/Respondent from monitoring and or recognizing the conduct of any the 2nd Defendant/Respondent into the offices of the National Chairman, National Secretary and National Auditor occupied by the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Plaintiffs respectively pending the hearing and determination of the substantive suit.”

What Most PDP Members Don't Appreciate or know About Alhaji Adewole Adeyanju, The National Auditor!!!
Alhaji Adewole Adeyanju is a square peg with a perfect match in a square hole being a Fellow Chartered Accountant who worked with the University of Agriculture Abeokuta where he rose to the post of a University Bursar before he finally quited the Civil Service for active politics. His antecedents in the Civil Service as an efficient and a man of proven integrity earned his personal Auditing firm lots of good jobs. This track record in his profession, high sense of mobilizations and loyalty to his political leaders earned him the position of the National Auditor of PDP. By this, he became a member of the Party's National Working Committee where his level of contentment distinguishes him from many others. His job as a National Auditor is highly tasking and challenging but this nevertheless deterred him from mobilizing heavily for the party to win and keep winning! He frequents his Local Government, Federal Constituency, Senatorial District, State and Southwest to maintain the loyalty of party members and woo more people of high net worth to the party. Despite the media bashing our party suffered from APC and infidelity of some party members in the last election, Adeyanju proved his worth by maintaining the winning Tempo of PDP in his Unit, Ward, LG and Federal Constituency during the last elections. This achievement cannot be said of many party leaders and NWC members! He pays his dues in all fronts as a party Leader and sacrificed a lot during the electioneering process. As a man of integrity, he has not been fingered in any fund mismanagement and misappropriation ravaging our party today. Adeyanju is a man of impeccable character and many more of his kinds are needed in our party if we must roll back to power any sooner. He is so humble that he visits winning camps and champions anywhere to bring winning to our party. SOLUTION, as fondly called by his chains of political followers has a solutions to the myriad of challenges confronting our party today if he is allowed to continue as the National Auditor of our party. As a political son of SPBK, he deserves our support again and again. #istandwithadeyanju

Nairaland GeneralThe Man Whom The Cap Fits, Prince Adeyanju by Onayigaazeez(op): 11:44am On May 16, 2016
PRINCE ADEYANJU

The Man Whom The Cap Fits...

One thing is to saddle a man with position of responsibility, another is to effectively carry out the work as required by the rules of engagements. In the last few years, the man Adeyanju was elected as the National Auditor of PDP after considering his antecedents and contributions to the growth of the party in his enclave. Surprisingly, he worked tirelessly, passionately and without fear or favour to move the party forward. His contribution brought sanity into the party financial system at the National Level of PDP. In order to consolidate on the good work he started; we all must give him another opportunity further use his intellectual prowess to cleanse our party's bartered image from the evil propaganda machinery of APC. Support an already TESTED, TRUSTED and LOYAL party MAN. Vote Adeyanju for another TERM as National Auditor of PDP come Saturday. PDP... Power to the People

Nairaland GeneralKashamu: I’ll Mobilise South- West Delegates For Sheriff by Onayigaazeez(op): 8:24am On May 08, 2016
Kashamu: I’ll mobilise South- West delegates for Sheriff

Senator representing Ogun-East, Buruji Kashamu, yesterday, said he will mobilise delegates from the South-West to vote for the National Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, at the planned national convention of the party. Kashamu said though he had been called names over his support for Sheriff, he would not be deterred from whatever he believes is in the best interest of the PDP.

He spoke in Ijebu-Igbo, Ogun State even as the controversy continued over the zoning of party positions ahead of the May 21 National Convention of the PDP.

The senator had last Wednesday at the expanded executive committee meeting of South-West PDP in Ijebu-Igbo, also said he had no apology for supporting Sheriff’s ambition.

But justifying his decision yesterday, Kashamu pointed out that it was in accordance with resolutions of the South-West PDP stakeholders’ meeting held in Ibadan in March and the 70th meeting of the National Executive Committee (NEC) held in April.

He said, “The NEC has also zoned the offices of the National Secretary, National Auditor and National Publicity Secretary to the South-West.

“We would mobilise delegates from the South West to support the incumbent National Chairman to continue in office if he indicates his interest in contesting for the position of the national chairman at the convention in Port Harcourt. “Although we have been called names over our proposals and actions, we remain committed to whatever we believe is in the best interest of our party, the good people of the South- West and Nigeria.”

Kashamu urged all interested aspirants and stakeholders to return to their various domains for consultations.

S/West PDP leaders zone offices ahead convention

May 7, 2016
AS the May 21st national convention of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) draws near, the zoning committee of some leaders of the party in the South-West zone has released the sharing formula for the offices zoned to the six states that made up the zone.

According to the report of the committee on zoning, headed by a member of the party’s Board of Trustees (BoT),  Alhaji Shuaibu Oyedokun, the office of the National Secretary has been zoned to Osun State, National Auditor to Ogun, while the office of the National Publicity Secretary was zoned to Ondo State.
The report of the nine-man zoning committee also indicates that Ekiti State will produce the office of the National Vice Chairman of the party.
While dividing the offices on the basis of the three sharing blocks in the zone, namely, Lagos and Ogun, Oyo and Osun and Ondo and Ekiti, the committee also alloted the ex-officio offices among the six states.

The alloted National Ex-officios are Lagos (male), Ogun, (female); Ondo, (female); Ekiti, (male); Osun, (male); Oyo (male).
Other members of the zoning committee include Senator,  C.K. Awoyelu, deputy chairman; Prince (Senator) Buruji Kashamu, chairman, mobilisation and organisation committee South-West; Honourable Ebenezer Alabi, Honourable Segun Odebunmi; former Lagos PDP governorship candidate, Dr Ade Dosumu; Chief Mrs. Aduke Maina, Alhaja Bose Adedibu and Honourable Segun Adekoya, who served as the secretary of the committee.

SOUTHWEST PDP: WHERE 'CLOWNS', 'RAGAMUFFINS' AND 'BASTARDS' LEAD THE WAY
Weeks back, some leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the South West led by the National Vice-Chairman, Chief Makanjuola Ogundipe, paid a visit to the national leadership of the party in Abuja and proclaimed that the North should retain the National Chairmanship position. At the time of the visit, such a campaign was unpopular at least among some chieftains of the party in the South West.
Notable among the anti-North group were Chief Olabode George, Chief Ebenezer Babatope and Dr. Doyin Okupe. Even Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Ayo Fayose, is on record as being one of the earliest proponents of the South West producing the National Chairman of the party.
They said they wanted the position to be zoned to the South-West because the zone has not occupied the position since the creation of the party 18 years ago.
But the South West delegation, which comprised of the Senator representing Ogun East in the National Assembly, Senator Buruji Kashamu and other well-meaning leaders, who mooted the idea of the North retaining the Chairmanship position, said the party risked being reduced to a regional party if the National Chairman is picked from the South.
They said the party was already strong in the South, with 10 governors; two of whom are from the South West, as against the whole of the North which has just two PDP governors.
No sooner had they stated their position than they were called “clowns”, “ragamuffins” and “bastards” by the likes of Okupe, George and Babatope.
The Bode George group met in Lagos a couple of weeks ago where they threatened fire and brimstone if the South West is denied the National Chairmanship position. They called another meeting in Akure, the Ondo State capital, last Wednesday, where they were supposed to reinforce their position. This was in spite of the fact that the zoning committee set up by the National Working Committee (NWC) on the recommendation of the National Executive Committee (NEC) had zoned the National Chairmanship position to the North and the North-East, in particular.
But the principled position, sound arguments and robust campaign mounted by the South West zonal executive of the party, with the able support of Senator Kashamu, that the National Chairmanship position should remain in the North seems to have carried the day.
The Akure meeting, which was meant to reinforce the George group's campaign or stance for the South West to get the National Chairmanship position, was subdued and forced to align with what the Kashamu/Ogundipe group has been championing since February or so.
Political pundits are of the view that those who gathered in Akure might have been forced by the political reality on ground to align with the pro-Northern group that met in Ijebu Igbo, Ogun State, same Wednesday. While the Akure meeting had more government functionaries and the two PDP governors in the zone in attendance, the Ijebu Igbo parley had more statutory delegates from across the six states of the zone in attendance. The Ijebu Igbo meeting had no less than three members of the Board of Trustees of the PDP,  all the members of the Zonal Exco, members of the State Executive Committees in at least four of the six states of the South West, members of the National Assembly from Ogun, Oyo and Lagos states.
Although those who met in Akure neither stated that they were in support of the North retaining the National Chairmanship position nor that they support of the candidacy of the incumbent National Chairman, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, unlike the group that met in Ijebu Igbo, their muffled position on the National Chairmanship does seem a subtle endorsement or acceptance of the retention of the position in the North. What is more, their decision to set up a committee to equitably share the positions zoned to the South West, to wit, the National Secretary, National Auditor and the National Publicity Secretary, also reinforced this position.
Now, the people who threatened that they will reconsider their membership of the PDP if the position does not come to the South West are now scheming to share the positions that have long been accepted and probably shared by those who aligned with Senator Kashamu/Ogundipe group.
‎In a way, it could be safely said that anti-North group has been forced by obvious political realities that Kashamu and others saw ahead of them to accept the position of those they called ‘bastards’ and ‘ragamuffins’! The so-called ragamuffins and bastards have the foresight and the pragmatism that the so-called founding founders, free-born and those who call themselves omoluabi never had.
However, the point of divergence between the Akure and Ijebu Igbo meetings is that while the Akure group also listed the Zonal Executive Committee as part of the positions to be shared, the Ijebu Igbo parley resolved that since members of the zonal executive came into office on the 11th of October, 2014, and they have a four-year tenure, their tenure will elapse on the 11th of October, 2018. How these issues will be resolved remain to be seen in the coming days and weeks.
There is no doubt that as the May 21st 2016 National Convention of the PDP draws nearer, there will be more intrigues, subterfuge and scheming. But for now, it is safe to describe the South West PDP as a place or party where those who were called ‘clowns’, ‘bastards’ and ‘ragamuffins’ lead the way while others follow.

NANS given award to SBK had made it goofed as if the Senator is that bad that noting is good about him. I know if the award is given to an APC man it will be termed as well deserving award. When your Aregbesola the Cheiflooter of Osun state was criminally suffering the work force of Osun state, this same Senator Buruji Kashamu was one of the few that could come to their rescue and many other impact had he made to lift people. Your dear Saint Buhari has not been able to answer the questions about 2.8billion that was traced to his account while he was petroleum minister but nothing was wrong about that, despite his noisy anti-corruption crusade his recent ministerial list is full of renowned corrupt people you guys didn't see anything about that. You're set of disgruntled elements. Onayiga Azeez
