Politics / Re: What Made Osun Tribunal Declare Oyetola Winner: Summary by onecoder: 9:45pm On Jan 27
What if INEC is responsible for manipulating BVAS results?
Because I don't know how else people like adamu garba will be chest-beating that oyetola would be returned.
I seriously doubt the credibility of elections under INEC

morning house, I have been trying to build my credit but it is not strong. I have applied for American credit card and I am using it. I have register for vote, I have included all my direct debit payment in my credit karma but still my scores is 570.

I have applied for credit cards in two of my banks but was refused. saying I am not eligible due to my score is low. pls what other ways can I do to increase my score.

A friend adviced me to get Argos card to use it to buy things and pay back.

pls I need more advice, I really want to build my credit.

I have stayed one year in the UK.

is there any lenders that can borrow me money to repay back to enable me build my credit pls. kindly advice. Thank u
It takes time instead of looking for who will lend you money.
You can rent an apartment without bills and pay energy and water bills yourself

Totally agree with you on this one but how else can we save this country from total collapse if not by encouraging men of similar characteristics like Peter obi.
I'm not saying Peter obi is a Saint but we need to stop these politicians of questionable characters from getting to these positions.
And that can only be done by voting.

I am a she. I live with my child in the house.
I have explained better in my previous reply

As you're already under a contract. The best I think you can do is to speak to your landlord that you think you'll not be able to pay quarterly and plead with him to let you pay monthly.
He can't evict you from the apartment like that and if he wants you out, tell him to give you at least a month to look for a new place.

Note: My post is not based on experience just saying what I would've done.

See the email I got from Home Office (Decision mail) attached.

Please why am I the first person being told to rely on Gov website to proof my status. Never heard of it from family and friends or on the forum.

Can anyone please confirm if they've been in my shoes please?

I'm about to book the foreign trip, I don't want issues having to return back to UK.

Thanks ahead.

I think I saw a use for this while applying for provisional license recently.
i.e you can now use a share code to prove your immigration status instead of moving around with brp

Even with 2 days layover you can't get it cheap till February like you suggested.
Yes, it's crazy
Just checked

Travel / Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 8 by onecoder: 1:56pm On Dec 23, 2022
please recommend places to book cheap flight
I think getting a cheap flight depends on:
1.If you are willing to layover for hours like 12hrs+
2.If you don't have an urgent plan to enter the UK.
You may start searching for flights first week of February. That way you can get something around 250k

You guys need to stop pitching credit card.

You can survive in the UK and leave a very comfortable life without them.
Well, there are so many advantages of having a credit card aside building credit score
1. Some airlines would only accept credit card payments when paying at the airport (e.g ryanair)
2. Chargebacks and claiming refunds.
3. Emergency funds safety net
My 2cent grin

Hey guys, my school is in Newcastle

Will I book my flight directly to Newcastle or I would land in London first?

Please advise, I don’t wanna have problems with immigration

Also, who is going to Northumbria on here ?
Book your flight to Newcastle. If using BA, your first stop may be London.
You would only have to layover for the next flight to Newcastle from London.

Is the 30% credit card rule applicable to shopping cards that offer buy now pay later plans. E.g the Argos card with say £800 credit limit. Cos when you buy say an item for £200 for 3 months, the £200 is deducted from you limit. Does that mean you won’t use the card till you pay that off in the assumed 3months. Or the £200 is just for that month n you can continue you 30% rule the following month on the other amount left.

Cos I believe if you have to pay the first monthly 30% off before making another purchase then it beats the whole buy now pay later offer on the card. Anyone with knowledge on this subject.
If the card says interest free for 3 months. Then, if you spend £200 in the first month and you decide not to pay. No charges apply but as soon as your 3 months interest free period is over.
All credit taken within each statement period will accrue interest.

It actually works and doesn’t get reversed. I did this once with my Amex CC when I had to pay a lump sum for a service and I wanted to hit that 10% spend on my CC for that month. However, I hear Amex will block your account if you overdo it because it doesn’t reflect as cash withdrawal, it instead reflects as a PayPal online purchase.
Hmm, OK.
I did send as friends and family not as payment for a service.

I think the trick is to take the GBP out, convert to naira and then use naija bank rate to pay back if possible

Problem is when the bank rate doesn't come and you owe cash + interest

It won't work.
Amex or any credit card you use may likely reverse the transfer. grin
I've tried something like that.

I disputed the bill with documents and after 10 days of which they were unable to get back to me they awarded me £20. grin

Hello there, my people.

longest time o. How is this increase in energy affecting life here? I understand that now is not the best time to switch energy providers, but biko I dislike prepaid because at my previous residence, I was spending up to £120 per month on both gas and electricity, and this is me being frugal o. Take note that I was the only one who stayed at this time. Now that I've moved to another house with postpaid, my life has been wonderful. The estimated cost of gas and electricity is less than 50 pounds. So, I'm planning on moving out again, but provider are British Electricity and Scottish Gas, both of which are prepaid. I'd like to go postpaid. Is there a way to do this?
I'm also interested.
