Just like making Umunze the capital of a new south east state and 20 years later , somebody will lack a huge portion of his/her functioning grey and white matter to compare it to Enugu, Ibadan and the rest of the cities founded in the 19th century.

I love the development going on in Awka and its environs so the out pouring of accolades and encomium by Ndi Anambra should not make people uncomfortable, we've been through enough already, so bad belle will not be entertained from any quarter and any actions portraying such will be dealt with decisively.

What Zonacom and Nnewi1stson raised are basically the truth, Awka still has a long way to go with respect to urban development. Yes we are on course is understandable but to project her ahead of others is an understatement.

I am not here to compare state capitals rather we all know the simple truth Awka is not there yet, Aside Zik Avenue and the Express road which other major roads in Awka can be classified as a major arterial?

Looll, I know this is what he will list now.

Kaduna- Capital of Northern Region since time immemorial.

Kano- the economic nerve center of Northen Nigeria with 19 states.

Jos- Capital of old Middle Belt region and still capital of old plateau and current plataue state.

Maiduguri is older than Awka and its the only city in the state with life.

Katsina have no other city to channel development.

Minna is home to two former presidents of Nigeria, bigger than the entire Eastern region but with small economic activity and few or no industries.

Awka was a sleepy village before the creation of Anambra state, Awkas was destroyed during the civil war, the only Federal presence in Awka is UNIZIK but Awka has better standard of living and good economic activities than cities that predates her.

Awka have Onitsha, Nnewi and Ekwulobia to contest for meager fed allocation yet Awka is good, secure and decent to live it.

Bro, for the sake of the thread just give it a rest. Allow them massage their ego, if that's what will keep this thread sane. The bulk of them have probably never gone beyond the head all their lives, so it's quite normal for them to presume they live in "Paradise". Besides Enugu, no other city comes close to those northern cities you listed! Awka that has just one major road (Zik's Avenue) and the length(Amawbia to Ezu river) is just a mere 5 minutes drive? And if you talk they'll call you a "Hater"!

Kano, kaduna, jos, maiduguri, minna, katsina are more developed than Awka PRESENTLY. Have you been to these places??

Seriously you guys should stop this already. Awka is developing fast but it's still far behind and cant be compared with a lot of state capitals in Nigeria. What infrastructures are we even talking about? buildings? cos that's all Awka got for now. Lets stop the exaggeration cos its getting laughable. A lot of state capitals in the North even are far more developed than Awka. Maybe in years to come, we'll have that state capital we dream of but for now, we don't have that.

In few years time these tin roofs will be rusty and brown, there should be a ban on them. Stone coated roofs should be instituted, that way the place stays aesthetically viable longer.

Blanket ban on motorcyclists in Anambra may not work. Especially in Nnewi and it's environs. Instead they should selectively ban commercial motorcyclists.

Although I'm concerned about their next source of livelihood if okada is banned but hey should know the banning of okada is unavoidable in this day and age. I hope the government will find a way to create an alternative for these people, like giving them priority considerations in the mass transit vehicles. I'm all for banning of okada in Awka and onitsha especially

.for a society to grow well it needs plurality of opinions which creates diversity of ideas making creativity a Hallmark of a develop society.I have clashed with u so many times on issues affecting the state.I can say the only good thing about you is the tenacity in which u defend small development irrespective of who the doer is.I appreciate that in you.I will like to send you a message on ur email about a particular idea on sport development in the state that requires collective will.the best way to develop the state is the people getting involve.we have talked a lot it is time to do little.
