gsleek:bros no vex. I'm not conversant with fresh applicants cos i am inside. I'm much conversant with people I see. maybe it was a misconception on my side. after medicals, you are already one leg in. just be hopeful for induction call. it ranges between one to four months after successful medical examination |
Hiploko:last week monday |
Hiploko:when ?,as in?. I don't get the question |
jstud:some of Stanbic contract staff who wrote d exam and passed the interview had been sent to a specific clinic for medicals. I guess fresh applicants should get theirs any moment from now. just be hopeful |
I woke up this Saturday morning a little uneasy.I clicked on the link to a blog and the topic of discuss awakened this mild anger that had been lying quietly on my inside. and yea, its been a long time I posted.I do not just want to fill this blog with those regular posts of ‘this is how i brush my teeth, etc’ well. I have also been too lazy to post, u guessed right.whatever, drrgh! (lol..pls excuse my little ‘craziness’) So why, the topic ‘the Christian brother and the badoo’.For the benefit of some highly ‘respected’ people in the society, (for whose reason this topic came to birth) who may not know the meaning of ‘badoo’, its simply ‘the bad guy’.(plix, next time,be not ignorant of the devices of the enemy, so i wee not tey you) ‘Olamide’s’ song ‘badoo’ was every where. So i can not particularly define who a ‘badoo’ is. I hope it will get clear from the rest of this post. Now, there is a tendency to rant and but I am going to be the gentle-lady that I am, Amen! So, our Christian brothers are great guys and we love them.(a standing ovation for them)Back in school, it was a common question among the Christian sisters to ask ‘ who is the brother?’ and that tickled our fancy a lot.(sisters, am not trying to betray the sisterhood or expose all those sweet little gists of ours, trust me) So,it was considered a great feat when the brother finally ‘spoke the word’ and sister received her conviction and a relationship ensued. Now, this was all under the fellowship umbrella. The sister like some of us practically found herself in fellowship meetings, excos meeting and all that. For most of us, life on campus went in this circle and it was fantastic. We were totally shielded under the umbrella of the body of Christ and far from the clawing pangs of the world. But then it happenened, NYSC passed under the same umbrella of NCCF and the story gradually changes as you meet diverse people in the work environment. Why am I going round sef? with the permission of my friend. This is the story. so the ‘badoo’ guy(let’s say his name is ‘Tobi’). So Tobi is a partner at the firm where my friend works. He is the typical Lagos boy.very ‘frosh’, rides a Lexus, always has a clean shave, plus has a masters in the Uk, speaks smoothly, smells nice and has those strides.Of course, he is ‘fine’ and I mean very fine, but this is not my friends problem as she is spiritually minded. My friend, Tomi(a random name is in a relationship with Ayo or ‘brother Ayo’ as he was called in the fellowship. For some reason, Tobi begins to visit the office more often. Ayo buys a Christian novel for Tomi on her birthday as he has been doing over the years.Tomi finds out its her birthday, he gets a cake delivered to her office with some beautiful flowers and a lovely note. He comes by at her office and asked to take her to lunch.Tomi agrees to sit with him and talk. He is a perfect gentleman, he allows her speak, listens to her opinions and corrects her where necessary. He speaks of every topic from politics to economy, religion and relationship with deep knowledge and versatility. Tomi had never had such moment talking. She is used to her bible study sermons with Ayo and the routine ‘how was your day?’ let us pray’ and ‘bless you’. Tobi gets smoother daily, added to his sense of humour,Tomi sees herself drawn to him. He totally respects and adores her, introduces her to his friends and family as a smart, intelligent and God fearing colleague. Finally, Tobi breaks the ice and tells Tomi he wants to marry her.He tells her he understands that she is in a relationship but he loves her virtues. Tomi has had the treat of her life. Tobi has the total ‘romance package’ and chooses his words carefully. Tomi is bored from Ayo. You might say my friend is being materialistic, in that case we will just empty you into one of this category am trying to mention here. Of course, i blame Tomi for allowing the relationship stretch so long with all this loopholes. If she is not careful, what happened in Tyler Perry’s movie ‘ Temptation’ may just repeat itself.Meanwhile my friend and I are planning for that guy that played the role of the ‘husband’ in the movie for being so insensitive until his wife contacted HIV(if you see the guy, abeg help me hook am down)such insensitivity! Now have you wondered why Christian marriages fail these days?Have you bothered to ask? What was the content of the relationship? How much did they both enjoy companionship from each other rather than spelling out 1000 sermons to avoid fornication. Yes, we hear all the sermons of young people avoiding sexual sins during courtship, but the devil in his subtleness has so much put this fear in our hearts and has taken away the joy, laughter and companions partners should find in themselves during courtship. Tomi says Ayo always tells her that their relationship must be pure until marriage, without blemish so he does not even allow her visit him at home. If she has to see him, they do so under the watchful eyes of Ayo’s Aunty who is a spiritually alert ‘aunty’. Halleluyah! Ayo calls her ‘dia’,not ‘dear’ o, cause i heard it once. He has carved the word from some thick Ondo accent(Ondo people, please forgive me) Tomi always has to be spiritually alert because sometimes Ayo would buzz her and ask her what the lord is saying about their relationship. This is to keep Tomi in constant check spiritually. because of this, she has had many times of mental and ‘spiritual stress’, always making sure that she pulls a word from God per season. A friend suggested that the next time Ayo asked what the lord was saying, she should reply that ‘the lord is saying we should go to the movies’. I almost passed out in laughter. But, mbok, Brother, your situation may not be this extreme, but you know that as you are reading this post the lord is ministering to you to make your relationship more joy filled. Repent and ask the lord to speak to you on how to make her laugh more often and be eager to pick your calls. You may have to start calling her ‘baby’ ,its not satanic, its English and it may mean ‘a new born baby’ and that does nobody any harm. I am just waiting for the next person to call me ‘my dia’ and you will see that ‘hell has no fury like a woman scorned’. Yes, it is scorn, because it is our fathers that used to call our mothers that way and many of them still went ahead to marry several wives. So we consider it scorn to say ‘my dia’, please be creative! So what is happening with Tomi right now?We want to call a committee to see to that. Meanwhile ‘badoo’ Tobi is thinking of his next move to make Tomi fall flat at his feet, but we are not going to lose another sister to a ‘badoo’ , somebody say,’ Amen’ It begins with you! Remember CHANGE is everywhere. PS- I would appreciate comments and constructive criticisms on this topic. It took me hours to remove and edit and be sure i picked the right words for the benefit of those that may think i am backsliding. https://olaitankushimo./2015/07/04/the-christian-brother-vs-the-badoo/ cc lalasticlala
