Yes 100% it could happen...............
This is a true incident, which happened with a 21 year old boy
studying engineering. He died in Keshwani hospital. He was admitted
in the hospital in burned conditions.
The reason........ ?
He went to Amrawati for study tour, while coming back, he was waiting for train at railway station along with his friends.
Many of them were taking group photo in their mobiles with digital camera.
This boy was also there and trying to take group photo. The place where this boy was standing, complete group photo was not coming. So to get complete group photo he went a little back. The place where he was standing, there was a electric wire with 40,000 volt.
As soon as he pressed the button of digital camera, the electricity of 40,000 volt entered the camera through the flash and then the fingers and then whole body.
All this happened in a fraction of few seconds; 50% of his body was burnt, in that condition he was brought to Keshwani hospital, and then to Mumbai in an ambulance. He was unconscious for 1 & 1/2 days. As 50% of his body was burnt, doctors were having less hope for him. Later on he died.
This could happen to anyone....... as we all are using mobile.

CALL FOR CANCELATION OF THE ONGOING UNIFIED TERTIARY MATRICULATION EXAMINATION (UTME) BY CHIEF YOMI OTUBELA, FCMA, PRESIDENT OF YOMI OTUBELA FOUNDATION, AND PROPRIETOR, LAGOOZ SCHOOLS, AGEGE.

I have noted with keen interest the shoddy conduct of the ongoing JAMB CBT for candidates writing Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) in the country. I am worried that after the implementation of maiden CBT for its candidates, the country has still not got the basics of conducting CBT examination right. This came in the wake of trauma the candidates for CBT JAMB examination went through in the course of taking the examination nationwide. Some of which, I have identified as follows:

1 The abrupt change of examination venue without prior communication to students. This made a lot of students to start looking for their new centres on the date of the examination. For instance, Funke from Iyana Ipaja recounted her experience thus " I was initially meant to write my examination in New Ocean High School, Ayobo but on getting to the examination venue on the date of the examination, we were turned back by the security personnel who informed us that our centre had been relocated to Island Complex College in Meiran''. She went further ‘' some of these students did not even possess the transport fares to get to their new centres''.

2 The sudden change in examination time is another issue that the students had to grapple with. This became worrisome because some of these students may not know where to stay in the interim before their examination starts and therefore will be subjected to unusual stress of waiting for long before the commencement of their examination which could have effect their psychology and their performance.

3 Most of the centres used had issue with either their generating sets or networking system or even both which made students to lose some valuable time or even finish late in the evening with the attendant risk of accidents, kidnapping etc for such students.

4 The idea of posting students to far places or another state apart from the residence of the candidates to write unified tertiary matriculation examination should be discouraged in its entirety. Moreso, that the majority of the candidates for this examination are teenagers who may not have embarked on such journeys before coupled with security concerns attached to such journeys.

5 In some centres in Magboro, there was a total shutdown of both the generating and networking system and as a result, the examination had to be rescheduled to another day.

6 The rationale behind additional 40 marks added to candidates' scores needs to be justified

7 Consequent upon these identified problems at the CBT examination centres, the results of the examination therefore will never reflect true performance of the candidates and this may have negative consequence on students' confidence.

In view of this, I therefore suggest that the results of the JAMB CBT so far released should be cancelled and the ongoing CBT examination stopped and subsequently made optional to allow students decide whether they would want paper based test or Computer Based Test. This would also ensure that the facilities available for CBT are not overstretched to avoid frequent breakdown. However, in the future, when facilities are improved for CBT, the examination can then be computer based fully.

In the same vein, I am also worried about recent spate of kidnapping in schools just as i commiserate with the parents of the recently kidnapped three female students of the Babington Macaulay Junior Seminary School in the Ikorodu area of Lagos state and pray that the children would be released soon. I therefore implore governments at both states and federal levels to deploy security personnel to man streets where schools are located in the country to protect lives and property.

Furthermore, I share in the joy of the parents of the released abducted child- Ese Oruru from Yenagoa, Bayelsa state. However, there are so many questions begging for answers such as why did it take the Nigerian Police six months to secure the release of Ese? Also, Bayelsa Police command needs to explain why it failed to act on the matter when it was first reported. Emir of Kano and Kano Police command needs to explain their level of involvement in the case. Kano Sharia Council and the Chief of Tufa village also need to explain their roles. In all, I want to appeal to the Nigerian Police to investigate this matter thoroughly to establish facts of the matter rather than acting on sentiments and all individuals found culpable in this case should be made to face the wrath of the law.

Similarly, I therefore conclude by calling on the Lagos State Police command to be alive to their responsibility by ensuring that all those responsible in the kidnap of these 3 students from Babington Macaulay Junior Seminary School, Ikorodu are brought to book on time to avoid creating culture of fears in schools. Governments at various levels should embark on installing CCTV cameras on streets, highways etc this would help in quick arrest of the evil perpetrators on time. Schools should also install CCTV cameras within their vicinity. This CCTV advancement must be supported by a boost in the nation's supply of power. Lastly, our justice system must be overhauled to ensure that there is quick dispensation of justice without delays to serve as deterrent to others.

As JAMB commences this year 2016 CBT exam there are several anomalies happening in some of the CBT centers in the country.
in a center in kwara state:
Borokinson Ict Centre, Baptist Grammar School, Ilesa - Baruba Road, Okuta Kwara State, candidates were compelled to use barely 2 hours for an exam that supposed to last for 3hours 30mins.As at the moment of computing this report a family friend who is among the affected candidates called in to confirm that there is a protest ongoing at the center, anybody that reside close to this center venue can also confirm this.it is obvious jamb has committed yet another blunder with the so call CBT EXAM WHICH IS ORIGINALLY Meant to save enough money for self enrichment.

As the famous adage 'all days for the thief and a day for the owner', a burglar who specialised in burglarying shops and houses in the neighbourhood met his water loo in the early hour of yesterday. He uses one of the uncompleted building in the area as his hide out,the most surprising aspect of it is that residence that occupies the completed parts of the building said they never suspect any foul play not until yesterday when one of the occupant wanted to fetch water in a well in the building and saw the guy coming from the uncompleted parts of the building ,he approached him and he demanded what , who he was looking for ,of which he replied saying I stayed here. the occupant alerted other neighbours and when he cannot give them a convincing point,they descended on him and he led them to the room he occupied in the building ,getting there ,they saw a pot of egusi soup fill with turkey, some cloths,weave on attachment, jeans and so on. Seeing this ,the beaten became intense and his continuous cry of anguish alerted others in the street who came to confirm some of the items found in his room as their wares which was stolen days ago from their shops. the most funny aspect of it was when the news got to the owner of the soup who resides in a house adjacent to the house of the scene,she said she prepared the soup for her son in-law to be whom she planed to host later in the day,she said it was just like a magic when the stew disappeared on the stove where it was kept,the woman couldnt collect the stew as she said she can't eat it again, let alone of serving her guest with it. The stew and other items found in the room was taken with him to the station as an exhibit. when the 911 emergency number was called by a friend so that the thief will not be killed in the street. the police enquired if the thief has a gun, a cutlass or any other dangerous weapon.the police later showup minutes later after the caller has allayed their fear.

Their replica can be found in the NATIONAL EXAMINATION COMMISSION (NECO) a body in which an applicant will register and choose his/her preferred subjects and location of examination but will later realised that the preferred subject has been changed to some irrelevant subject and that the chosen center location has also been changed. What can we say in the situation in which a science student that registered for the exam after printing out the photocard later realised that physics a subject in which she needed badly was change to another irrelevant subject and her chosen center lacation has changed from ikeja to a location in satellite town.infact I wept for the education of this country, my research shows that most of the admistration of education in the country are politician who are so much concern about their pocket and even the few technocrats among them has been infected by the bad eggs in the sector.
