Whether you are buying from a car marketer, dealer, or owner, do so with a bit of common sense and due diligence before you with confidence.

Before we go further, *the two main rules to keep in mind when buying a used car are: buy with your head and not with your heart, and secondly, if you aren’t convinced about anything, be prepared to walk away.

Without much ado, see some of the things you need to check listed above;

1. Run a VIN report especially a comprehensive one from Carfax and Autocheck (we offer the service for a token)

3. Check the engine for leaks, oil level, head gasket condition, exhaust smoke, etc.

4. Feel and listen to the smoothness of the gear change, and test the clutch biting point.

6. Drive the car at high speed until you have checked everything you want to.

7. If it is a registered car, check its registration papers and try to call the phone number of the owner on it. You can call or visit the licensing office to confirm the phone number on the plate number attached to it.
