I have a Uk Visit Visa and a Canada Study Permit. I plan on going to UK for about 1/2 weeks vacation before going to Canada. Will it be possible for me to go to Canada from UK with two different flights?

Hello guys. I will appreciate a response.
Please, i am looking at doing my upfront medical with IOM but my passport is going to expire by feb 2024 and i will most likely start my visa application by November/December for May 2024 Conestoga.
I have started my passport renewal but IOM is asking for my passport number. Do i use the old one or wait until my passport is ready before i start my medical?
