According to report,a man named Uche who owns an upholstery shop opposite DSK foundation and Befan Hotel in Jalingo was brutally killed the evening of Nov 27 by a boy that works under him.

  The deceased is well-known by his counterparts,business associates and others that own shops around the area.The deceased has been accusing his boy of stealing from him and he recently placed him under last warning.Little did he know that his shop's boy was planning to kill him simply because he threatened to have him arrested if he fails to return what he stole from his shop.

  On the evening of Nov 27,the boy came and killed his boss (Uche) and the manner in which he was killed was terrible.The killer has already been arrested by the police and investigations are ongoing on the circumstances surrounding his death

Rivers State Christian Trust Fund to become operational -Governor Wike

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has stated that the Christian Trust Fund will become operational after the setting up the organisation's Board of Trustees.

The governor said that the consultation for the seamless appointment of the Board of Trustees has reached advanced stage.

Speaking during a courtesy visit by the Rivers State Chapter of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Governor Wike said that the Christian community played a critical  in the actualization of his mandate through prayers and participation.

"We are working to get trustees to manage the funds of the Christian Trust Fund. In the next few weeks, we will appoint the trustees. Thereafter, we will establish it. ", he said.

Speaking further, Governor Wike urged the Church to sit up and take steps to ensure that only credible leaders emerge in 2019.

He said: "The Church must be able to express her preferences during the 2019 elections . Mobilise your members to come out and vote.

"If we continue to sit back, the future of our people will be left hanging. Don't fold your hands. "

He announced that the Rivers State Government will support the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria in the completion of their secretariat in Port Harcourt.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Rivers State, Apostle Zilly Aggrey lauded Governor Wike for carrying Christians along through the construction of the State Ecumenical Centre.

He said: "The entire Christian Community is happy with you.  We are happy that you are keeping  the promises you made to us".

The Pentecostal Leaders prayed for Governor Wike and his administration.

Wonders shall never end!According to report,the family of Oke Amandi that own a Sabbath mission In Ihitenansa,Imo state connived and killed their son Chibuzo Amandi aka Monkey with cutlass and stick while he was sleeping.He was allegedly killed for being disobedient to them.They were caught while trying to bury him secretly in the morning.

When one of them was interviewed, he said the deceased used to beat their mum and sometimes make her sleep outside the house.

An Accident occurred yesterday living 5 people dead and several others injured along Eket Oron Road close to Niger Pet Structures Limited.

Details reaching us this morning has it that a truck collided with a Volvo wagon leaving 5 persons dead including a mother, father & a female child.

An eyewitness said one footballer Ekom who resides around Udofa Street, Eket was also involved.Their corpses have been deposited in a mortuary at Emmanuel General hospital Eket.

Former Military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida has praised Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike for his outstanding efforts towards promoting vibrant politics in Nigeria.

Speaking on Wednesday when the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike led some leaders of Rivers State to visit him at his Hilltop Residence in Minna, Former Military President Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida popularly called IBB also commended Governor Wike for working towards the revival of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), noting that the country needs another strong political party.

He said: "That's why I particularly appreciate the job the Rivers State Governor is doing to make sure that politics moves the way that politics is practiced in the civilised world .

"This is because you need a very good political party in this country and he is working towards achieving that. He applies his courage , his knowledge, contacts to make sure that PDP remains very strong. "

General Babangida thanked Governor Wike for his commitment to good governance. He said the news of Governor Wike's achievements are known. He informed that like other Nigerians, he is keeping a tab on what on the good works of Governor Wike.

Commenting on the Anambra Governorship Election, Former Military President Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida said that the election was credible. He said that he was not surprised by the credible outcome of the election, because adequate preparations were made.

He said: "It is an indication that Nigerians would be able to conduct themselves well in a very peaceful environment ".

The Former Nigerian Leader thanked Governor Wike for his visit.

Addressing journalists after the visit, Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike said that the Rivers leaders were in Minna to consult with the Former Military President as a leader of the PDP.

He said that he consulted with the Former Leader on party issues. The Rivers Stste Governor also noted that the visit was meant to wish the former leader well in terms of his health.

The Rivers State Governor was accompanied on the visit by a member of the House of Representatives, Mr Ken Chikere, Former Attorney General of Rivers State, Hon Frank Ohwor, PDP Elder Statesman, Prince Emma Anyanwu and Special Adviser to the Rivers State Governor, Chief Glory Emeh.

The meeting later went into a closed door session.
