Education / Re: SSANU, NASU Begin Strike, Ground Universities Over Withheld Salaries by onyxo76(m): 12:15pm On Mar 18
Counselor123:
It is no longer funny. It seems our unions are not able to use anything else than industrial actions. Let them think of other options. The havoc they are causing to the sector is immense. We expect more from people who want to hold FG accountable. Recklessly going on strike is not acceptable. Let me tell you, some labour unions went on strike last year in the UK, and their salaries were withheld. They were not paid because they didn't work. Did heaven fall down? At any slight opportunity, you want to run our institutions aground. Do you think you are better than the government you are fighting against? Please think out of the box. You are all in charge of our Universities. We deserve better from you

I agree with you that you don't get paid when you don't work, the point is, why pay one union the withheld salaries and ignore the other 3 unions who were on strike the same period as ASUU? what do they hope to achieve by this move?

Only possible explanation is that they have overrun our security forces & have complete territorial control of the areas they operate.
I saw this in a newspaper today and I was quite scared, some top shots in power are certainly benefitting from these wave of abductions.

I am still trying to understand how possible it is to abduct a whole 287 human beings at once.

It's simply impossible to gather 287 persons in one place without detection.
honestly it beats my imagination sometimes, that means the bandits will be at least 100 in number .
then how do you move 287 people just like that without any hindrance.

Food / Re: Prices Of Food Items Soar More Than 100% Since Tinubu Became President by onyxo76(m): 6:54pm On Mar 06
olaniyilukman:
bro, why do you like to argue like this, I bought it here in Ibadan
nobody is arguing that you bought it for 250 per bag, I only mentioned that for you to get it at that price, its either the size or number of satchets has been reduced...here in osun they sell at 3 for 100 or one for 50 naira per satchet.

Tsufyaan:

Chairman,my family house is at Mangoro Bus stop Punch Estate to be precise and my mother still sells a bag of cold satchet water for 400 Naira. She's a retailer cos from the company it's 300 per bag. You can fact check ooo..
we are saying the same thing which is there is no 250 per bag pure water currently anywhere like some peeps are claiming.
Food / Re: Prices Of Food Items Soar More Than 100% Since Tinubu Became President by onyxo76(m): 11:57am On Mar 06
olaniyilukman:
where exactly do you live bro, because I bought the same one bag of pure water at the rate #250 today
maybe the satchets are reduced, there is no pure water 250 per bag anywhere in 9ja ,the cheapest you can get is probably 400 and the satchets are way smaller than the regular ones.

Food / Re: How Much Is This Loaf Of Bread In Your Area? (pix) by onyxo76(m): 6:04am On Feb 13
It depends on the size, but in a supermarket I buy from, the size of a 1k loaf is the same as when it was 800 a few weeks ago.
Aside this, the quality is quite poor now no thanks to a crate of eggs at 4k and bag of sugar at 78k.

Shut up.

The country has hundreds of silos stationed across the nation.

Silos are massive warehouses stacked with emergency food, and most countries have them.

Forum of ignorance.

did you say hundreds? how come no one ever talks about those silos particularly during this period of high food prices.

If you have to work remotely, i will advise you get one small shop in another neighborhood which you can run as a biz center, photocopy, printing, maybe selling a few phone accessories etc,at least that will take you out of your house for a few hours daily.then if you know you live in one bad belle area better to look for another place to rent.people don't mind their biz at all.
