Killing Of Innocent Citizens, A Crinkle Cranium of Democracy, Chief Olusesan Arowolo

The candidate of the Social Democratic Party, SDP for Ekiti Central Senatorial District, Chief Olusesan Arowolo has frown at the unjustified sporadic shooting by the Police Officers attached to the APC Senatorial Candidate, Hon.Micheal Opeyemi Bamidele (MOB) and other APC candidates which led to the death of a young girl identified as Yemisi.

Chief Olusesan Arowolo, who spoke with the Believe TV Correspondent in Ijero Ekiti on Monday on the recent happening in Ikoro Ekiti, he stated that its is a pitiable dismal that at this stage of existence democracy that ought to be a way out of penury has now become a charade with momentum perpetuated to exercise power and lawlessness in our society .

"Discipline is not only about personal domestic engagement , it also cut across interpersonal relationship and, this is the first thing a leader must learn and pass to his followers but we can see today, we have only few people who are leaders of note, we are left with fabric fitted hoodlums.

"We all came out to seek for elective positions not to enrich ourselves nor orchestrate violence through democratic power, but to make life better and bearable for the people, it is therefore expedient we follow the peaceful process of campaign devoided of blood stain as only God crowns", He said.

The Oluomo of Ijero Kingdom however sympathised with the family of the deceased teenager, pray that God in his mercy will be their fortress and comfort. He therefore, advised Ekiti people to see the forthcoming general election as a means to correct the past and lay good foundation for a better future of Ekiti Central Senatorial District.

2023 Elections: Group Drums Support For SDP Senatorial Candidate, Chief Olusesan Arowolo

Ahead February 25, 2023 general elections, a political group named, " Ekiti Progressive Minds" (EPM) has declared their support for Chief Olusesan Arowolo as the senator that will represent the district in the next dispensation.

Ekiti Progressive minds is a combination of like minded people who believes in the growth and progress of the district. And the group declaration support for Chief Olusesan Arowolo, came just as the race for February 25, 2023 general elections begins to gather momentum.

EPM, in a statement released by its Director of Media, Hon.Kayode Olowookere after the group brainstorming meeting held yesterday in Aramoko-Ekiti, the group said that Chief Arowolo, with his antecedents and political pedigree, was better positioned to promote good governance and deliver dividends of democracy.

Hon. Olowookere said, Chief Arowolo is a bridge builder, a consensus builder, and committed to the vision and principle of SDP, stressing that he is qualified and most suitable for the task of representing the district at the National Assembly.

Hon. Olowookere said further that the opposition party (SDP) in the state needs a very strong, vocal and courageous senator that is rational and decisive enough to check alleged excesses of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) in Nigeria.

Ekiti 2022: SDP Youth Vanguard Receives Hon Joseph Olaleye, Followers To SDP

As the Ekiti state gubernatorial election is approaching, the Social Democratic Party Youth Vanguard in a funfair received Hon Joseph Olaleye Ajayi (JOA) and his followers from All Progressive Congress APC to the Social Democratic Party SDP in Ifaki Ekiti on 11th of May 2022.

The SDP Youth Vanguard Coordinator, Comrade Tope Dumiye (Akogun) who was on hand to receive the defectors applauded their courageous move to join the moving train for Restoring Ekiti state.

According to the Youth Coordinator , "this is the first time in the political history of the state where youths will come together in unity to fight against oppression and injustice and this as led to a political tsunami in the state."

He also noted that, the word "youth are leader of tomorrow" is only effective on the tongue as our father are comfortably reluctant to relinquish power or give the youth the mantle of leadership, therefore it is expedient for the youth take action this time, as we have a father who is ready to utilize the strength of the youths in his cabinet.

However, the youths this time around must resist tricks tailored through money that can truncate the future of the state as Money has been the major form of cajoling youths to derail from their initial path of voting for credible candidate in previous elections. As a matter of concern we must outsmart this tricky move and sensitive others on the damage of vote trade.

The Social Democratic party Youth Vanguard in their monthly meeting on 24th of April, 2022 has vows to give the rulling party APC a walking papers come June 18

In the monthly meeting heavily represented by the 16 local government representative of the group, the state coordinator Mr Tope Dumiye buoy- up members to be proactive in the cause of reviving the state, also admonished them to be on their toes until Engr Segun Oni emerge as Ekiti state Governor.

Ekiti youth are massively crestfallen under the present administration and we can not shy away from the fact that their inability to care for themselves is as a result of leadership failure by All progressive party (APC) , therefore it is time we stand firm to fight against oppression and restore Ekiti State

Several opinions and ideas were welcomed at the meeting and a conclusion was reached to carry out a sensitization program in other to enlighten the general public on the benefit of making the right decision of voting in Engr Segun Oni come June 18 2022 as he is the only way out of the present sporadic maladies in Ekiti democracy.

"We must be energetic and ready to make sacrifice of our time and resources towards the actualization of this mission, for no gain without pain" he noted

Fayemi Plotting to Scrap LCDAs, Blames it on Oni[b][/b]

The Segun Oni Movements has accused the Governor of Ekiti, Dr Kayode Fayemi of orchestrating a grand plan to scrap the Local Government Development Areas due to the mismanagement of the funds disbursed for the purpose of running them and blame it on the former governor of the State, Asiwaju Segun Oni.

The movements stated that, the committee that mismanaged the local government funds was put in place by governor Fayemi early last year and headed by the candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Mr Biodun Oyebanji, under whom the fund was embezzled.

The Director of Media and Publicity, Segun Oni Movements, Mr Jackson Adebayo made this known in a statement he made available to journalists in Ado Ekiti.

He said that the APC government, in an attempt to cover the fraudulent track has decided to scrap the LCDAs .

Adebayo explained that the APC government resorted to this after it was discovered that the funds that the government had been deducting from the sixteen local government since 2019 for the purpose of funding the LCDAs had been mismanaged by the committee without any evidence that it had been disbursed to the LCDAs.

He maintained that it took the candidate of APC, Mr Oyebamiji and the wife of the governor two weeks to come out with the idea of manufacturing the lies that Segun Oni would scrap the Local Government Development Areas if he becomes the governor as an alibi for their planned scraping of the LCDAs.

The movements, however, stated that it was very unfortunate that the Governor and his party's candidate could stoop to the level of attaching their failure to an innocent person like Asiwaju Segun Oni, who was an apostle of a workable Local Government administration.

Adebayo stressed that at no time did the former governor Segun Oni made any statement that he would scrap the Local Government Development Areas, rather Oni has always been at the forefront of strengthening the Local Council Development Areas, hence, his contributions to the accommodation of the Isokan LCDA at Ifaki Ekiti.

Adebayo added that Segun Oni, is a known character synonymous with community development and grassroots emancipation, which had placed his tenure as governor in Ekiti State on the top.

"We want to say that all Ekiti sons and daughters are witnesses to the lasting projects across the rural areas throughout the State during Segun Oni's short time as the governor of the state during the time the allocation to the local government would not be tampered with as opposed to what is the culture now."

Adebayo noted that Segun Oni was the first governor in Nigeria to grant local government autonomy till date; same thing he did for the judiciary and the legislative arm of government during his tenure.

He said that part of the former governor's agenda, if elected, is to create more LCDAs and resolve any existing disputes over the insincerity of the present government.
