So we have been wasting money to keep our security forces including the police

can we do away with the police and use prayers to secure our lives and properties.

but on a second thought why do Nigerian pastors moves around with police escort and uses armed police men to guard their homes instead of prayers
.
My brother, I am not here to argue with you. I wonder what you are doing on this thread when it's obvious you don't believe in prayer. You must not comment. Commenting is not mandatory!

The world we are in now is ephemeral when viewed from the viewpoint of eternity, therefore some things are more important than others.
Whether anyone lives for a few years or a hundred years, what is important is that they receive eternal life through Christ.
And that is what God wants from us, so that when this world has passed we can all be in the new heaven and the new earth, where there will be no death, or wickedness or disease.
Happy new year!

If God exists, doesn’t he know that this Fulani violence thing is not right? Why does he need to be begged by so many starving people in order to fix it?
God is a Spirit, He's the creator of all things. His ways are not our ways. Human intelligence can not understand Him. We worship Him by following His commands. He requires us to call upon Him when we need His help.

Brother, calm down for God, He loves you, that's why you are alive today. God's mercy is keeping you going. You can't understand Him unless you give him the chance by coming close and getting to know Him.

Meanwhile, give orders to move this to front page, we need to make this nation a better place, at least people like us can start with prayers and you can contribute on this by moving it in front. Greetings again sir!

Thanks

we actually receive the Spirit of God at salvation.. The spirit of God is the Spirit of adoption dat gives us the right to call God father, Bible says as many as received him, to dem he gave the power to become the sons of God even to them that believes on his name. Adam was a living soul but Christ Jesus is a quickening Spirit. We were dead in sin but he makes us alive unto righteousness. But at salvation, we still av our flesh and soul to contend with for it is only our Spirit wch jas been made alive. Sanctification is for the soul, we are sanctified by the word of God we learn God and unlearn the world and it ways. The word of God said we are sanctified by the washing of the water in the word Ephesians 5:26, the word of God cleanses our soul daily and our carnal mind is renewed and we become more spiritual since the Spirit and the soul is now in agreement with the Spirit. To be carnally minded is death

Holiness is not obeying the 10 commandment but having a conscience void of offense towards God and man.. Every new testament saint must believe in grace cos Jesus is grace personified and every promise in the new testament such as salvation, healing, deliverance etc, we get tru grace. Jesus was full of grace and truth and it is evident in the life he lived,he was perfect. But wat we av today is many so called grace preachers who are still wallowing in a sinful addiction and instead of dealing with it dey say grace covers it. Nope, Jesus didn't come to help us manage our sinful state but to take us out of it.. Even when u have grace u still av to make deliberate attempt to mortify the flesh.. See Paul's letter to the colossian Christians ooo

Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience: In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them. But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:
Colossians 3:5‭-‬10

Another word for mortify is to kill.. Paul admonished dem to consciously and deliberately kill those natural tendencies, he also asked dem to "put off" some other things and commandeth dem to stop lying to each other.. He was talking to colossian saints for God's sake. They had grace already but d grace hadn't taken those stuff away from their lives. The most spiritual church at dat time waz d church at Corinth, but guess wat? Dat was where many ppl fell sick and died the most cos dey were living in sin and partaking in the Lord's table. Those they were spirit baptized, had gifts of the spirit, dey were still committing fornication..

And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come. Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body. For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep. For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.
1 Corinthians 11:24‭-‬32

U can check other version to know wat Paul meant by many sleep. Many died. Even though there was grace, God still judged sin in the Corinthian church.

How can someone claim to have grace and still continue in sin, dat is an abuse to the word grace.. Titus 2:11 says the grace of God teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age.. I am not against the gospel of grace but against wat some folks calls grace today
I agree with this. Grace is not a licence to sin. Grace helps us to overcome sin, with constant feeding on the word of God. I don't think Goshen disagrees with this.

I disagree with what someone mentioned that one does not receive the Holy Spirit even when you have been born again and baptized, until he continues studying the word. You receive the Holy Spirit when you repent and accept Christ and have been baptized, but you grow in faith when you study the word constantly.

since you were responding to the question i ask him u could av sited scriptural reference to support. Wat u just stated here is an opinion of man and not sound doctrine except backed by scripture.
That God sent His only begotten son to die for us to be saved, is that not grace. We are Christians because of what Christ did and because He gave what we didn't deserve to us for the sake of love. What do you think it is? Grace is receiving those blessings we didn't deserve. We are saved as Christians because of the sacrifice made for us on the cross by Jesus and because we didn't hire Him to come and die for us, it was done out of love, that's grace.

Our free gift of salvation is grace. Grace is why we are Christians. Christianity is grace. I might not be too good in explaining, but just trying. Goshen360 will explain better.

Let post of these scriptures if they can help.

John 1:17

For the law was given through Moses, but God's unfailing love and faithfulness came through Jesus Christ.

Ephesians 1:6

Let us praise God for his glorious grace, for the free gift he gave us in his dear Son!

Romans 3:24

But by the free gift of God’s grace all are put right with him through Christ Jesus, who sets them free

Ephesians 2:8-9

For it is by God’s grace that you have been saved through faith. It is not the result of your own efforts, but God’s gift, so that no one can boast about it.

Acts 15:11

We believe and are saved by the grace of the Lord Jesus, just as they are.

John 1:14

And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.

2 Timothy 1:8-10
Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord or of me His prisoner, but join with me in suffering for the gospel according to the power of God, who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was granted us in Christ Jesus from all eternity, but now has been revealed by the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus, who abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel,

John 3:16-17
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. "For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.

Romans 5:8

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Titus 2:11-14
For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus

1 Peter 1:3-5
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to obtain an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, who are protected by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

He's very correct. Unless you are not a Christian. Any other thing outside grace message is no longer Christianity.

Anything outside it is no longer preaching Christ. The doctrine of men has seriously adulterated Christianity.
Anybody preaching anything outside grace is trying to say the death of Jesus was for nothing.

Jude 4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

Ephesians 4:30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

Abraham's time was under the Patriarch age.
ABRAHAM WAS NOT COUNTED RIGHTEOUS BECAUSE OF ANY LAW BUT FAITH. The circumcision was not a law but a covenant.

Galatians 3:21 Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law.

2 I would like to learn just one thing from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by believing what you heard? 3 Are you so foolish? After beginning by means of the Spirit, are you now trying to finish by means of the flesh?[a] 4 Have you experienced so much in vain—if it really was in vain? 5 So again I ask, does God give you his Spirit and work miracles among you by the works of the law, or by your believing what you heard?

Galatians 3:10

Most of you don't understand the Bible and God.

Most of the Pastors and Christians that are committing sins did not give their lives to Jesus , is that not so?

There have been many revelations concerning heaven and hell. All of them talk about 1 out of 1000 going to heaven.
There was also a revelation about a mega church were during their convention , a revelation was guven that if Jesus should come then , only 3 out of about 4 millions would be raptured. Among these are Pastors and regional Pastors who will not be raptured , are they not under grace, have they not accepted Jesus as their Lord and Personal Saviour?

Grace requires from us higher standard of living.
Laws says until you kill , you have not committed murder, grace says when you are angry with your neighbour without a cause , you are murderer.

Grace means accepting Jesus and be born again and sin no more. Should there be a sin , ask God for forgiveness and don't continue in it and expect grace to abound.
Jesus told us not to lust after a woman and conclude you have not committed sin because you have not taking her to bed.
Is that not a law requiring a higher standard of holiness from us?

God told us not to curse our father or mother . Does grace means you are not under that law? Does grace makes us automatically Immune against sin? No.
It means God has opened a new account for you , no more inheritance of your ancestral sins and death .
Nobody says when you are under grace you can sin. In fact, under grace, you are given power to overcome sin. Without the Holy Spirit, there sins you can never overcome, some addiction like, fornication, drug abuse.... But when you understand and you have the Holy Spirit and you live by His lead, you overcome such sins because they don't have power over you. You can only overcome such sin under grace.

Also note this, no matter how you try to live under the law of 10 commandments, no matter how you are able to keep it, you will not make heaven. You only make heaven when you have the Righteousness of God. When you have it, you have power to overcome sin and when you sin, you feel sorry about it and repent immediately.

You are wrong.
There are more than 200 millions of Christians world wide who have faith in Jesus but are habitual sinners.

Just like take time and understand what I am saying.

I accept we all need to accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and be Baptised in the Holy spirit, but we must by the power of the Holy Spirit live a holy life.
To live a holy life , you must obey God's commandments.

I am wrong?
Any so called Christian who continue to live in sin without repentance does not have the Holy Spirit living in him. It is the Holy Spirit that empowers one to overcome sin, but that does not mean the person might not fall into sin at all, if he does, he feels bad and repents of it and ask for forgiveness, because He already has the power of God in Him.

This is why this scripture says..

"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9".

◄ Hebrews 4:16

Let us then approach God's throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

Is it not Gods laws that makes you to be aware you have sinned ?
Where there is no law there is not sin.

The grace expects us to keep the laws and do more :

Matthew 5:18-22 KJV
For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. [19] Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them , the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
[20] For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
[21] Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:
[22] But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

This verse 22 is called what? Is that not a law , with higher standard ?
Grace does not mean the laws are not to be followed , it gives us the power to overcome them by the power of the Holy Spirit that lives in us.
The Holy Spirit will empower you and caution . He will remind you of those laws . This is grace, empowerment. But if you commit any of those sins , you can quickly as for forgiveness, that is grace.
Before grace until you sleep with a woman and have carnal knowledge of her , you have not committed adultery but with the advent or period of grace , looking at a woman with lust, is a sin , that is law and higher expectation of holiness.

Grace says to be angry with anyone without a reason is murder , b4 grace until you kill b4 you are deemed a murderer.

You must keep some laws but not those sacrifices of blood .

Jesus said so. He said our righteousness must exceed the righteousness of the Pharisees.
The Pharisees are keepers of the law and counted for them as righteousness .Jesus ( giver of grace ) now said our righteoness must exceed those of Pharisees.

Word of Jesus is final .
Let me help post those scriptures here . .

Romans 9:30 What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith.
31 But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness.
32 Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone;

Romans 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Romans 3:27 New International Version

Can we boast, then, that we have done anything to be accepted by God? No, because our acquittal is not based on obeying the law. It is based on faith.
28 So we are made right with God through faith and not by obeying the law

MFM is a true Christian Church, but mark my word, when you grow in the knowledge of the word of God, you won't be worshiping there. I will advise you to pray consistently pray for knowledge. Most of the doctrine of MFM are man made, they are not biblical.

The righteousness Jesus meant was not our personal righteousness, but the righteousness of God.

Yes Jesus said our righteousness must exceed the righteousness of the Pharisees, but this righteousness does not come by our own effort, it does not come from keeping the law, it comes as a gift. It's a gift we receive when we become born again. It is not possible to attain such righteousness by keeping the law, it is a gift we receive from God through our faith in Jesus Christ and not by keeping the law.

NO matter how I try to explain to you, this argument will not end, but I pray God open your knowledge to understand. Meanwhile let me explain the little I can.

Romans 10:4
Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes,

Romans 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

Galatians 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

This might not convince you but let me stop here. Just pray for understanding.

Does that mean you cannot sin because the Holy Spirit is living in you?
NO! It means, you have to be spiritually minded. Staying connected with the Holy Spirit. Not grieving the Holy Spirit and allowing Him lead and direct us.

When we mistakenly fall into sin, we don't have to waste time in asking for mercy. You no longer have to sacrifice any animal to be cleansed just like it was under the law, but repent of it and ask for forgiveness.

Galatians 5 :22
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Romans 8 :13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

1 Peter 1 :
New Living Translation

God the Father knew you and chose you long ago, and his Spirit has made you holy. As a result, you have obeyed him and have been cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ. May God give you more and more grace and peace.

◄ 2 Peter 1:3
New International Version

His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.

◄ Hebrews 4:16
New International Version

Let us then approach God's throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

very simple accepting to the depth of your soul that the law condemns and doesn't justify ,,, that its originally for the worst sinners so that they will be accountable to God, and knowing that even if you were perfect regarding the law like

Paul said "concerning the righteousness by the law I was blameless" but still he had to accept Christ ... Paul called the righteousness by the law self righteousness Phil 3;6-9

if Paul needed to accept Christ ,,,, then his own righteousness is like a curse ... its like Cain's sacrifice , who brought sacrifice to God from the ground which God has cursed .
so self righteousness is bringing righteousness to God from ourselves which God has condemned in Adam --- for in Adam we all sinned, and the wages of sin is death, and also in Adam all are condemned then definitely if I bring my own righteousness I will be condemned like Cain ....

so in other words looking unto Jesus means going to God asking for his spirit , continual fellowship with him in obedience love holiness for without holiness no man shall see God ,, , but holiness isn't keeping the law, holiness is living to God,,,,

if holiness were keeping the law which God knows wouldn't justify us ,, then Christ died in vain
Yes. Holiness is the Holy Spirit living in you, which produces the character of Jesus.

Yes we are not under the law but under grace. You have to drop the law and follow the commands of Jesus Christ. To know His command you have to read the Bible.

Love God and Love your neighbor is the new command. If you love God, you will follow the commands of His son and if you love your neighbour you will not envy, jealous, kill, commit adultery......

◄ John 13:34 New International Version

"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.

I love Xmas

please I want to warn those good Samaritan's out there , mind who you lend money to some people are evil. they will never pay you back and when you ask for your money, they are ready to fight and call you names
You only lend what you can afford to loose. Besides, you should also learn to sacrifice, it pays. Patience is highly important. There's also what they call debt forgiveness, learn to apply it. As for me, no matter how much you owe me, it can never bring problems between us. So don't discourage people from helping.

Christianity EtcJoin 3 Days Fasting And Prayer Against Fulani Killings... by Oracle16(op): 12:18am On Dec 25, 2017
Let sons and daughters of God on this forum join me in 3 days prayer and fasting. There is serious attack on Christians. Let us not pretend that things are alright. Please, let us pray against every satanic plan to shed innocent blood in 2018. It's just 3 days prayer and we will be praying from our different locations but with same prayer points.

We will be praying on 3 things ;

1. God should grant that the Fulani herdsmen killing innocent people to meet their doom. Let their be confusion in their mist and let their attacks back fire on them. Let them and their sponsors fall into trouble they will never come out from.

2. God should give us good leaders. God should take over the leadership of Nigeria, miraculously reshuffle and give us God fearing and His anointed sons and daughters to lead Nigeria.

3. Pray for 7 things you want God to do for you in 2018. We will pray for each other and ask God to grant the 7 personal request of everyone who is involved in this prayer.

This 3 days prayer will start on the 5th of January 2018 to 7th January 2018. Fasting can be 6-12 pm or 3pm if you can. Worship and praise morning and night before prayer with scripture reading (pick any scripture as you are led).

My people, let us call upon God and He will hear us. Enough is enough! After this prayer, there will be great signs and wonders and I am very sure God will answer us.

1 John 4 :4
You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world."

2 Cor. 10:3-5
"For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ."

Luke 10 :19
“Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you.”

John 14:13-14
13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

Matthew 18 :18
Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Romans 8:19
For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.

I need your contributions. Please, let's agree and pray.
Christianity EtcRe: My Dream About Fuel Scarcity during Christmas period.... by Oracle16(op): 12:04am On Dec 24, 2017
Christianity is under attack in Nigeria. Let us not pretend that all is well. Four people were killed in Christmas Carol in Kaduna. Fulani killers have licence to kill and no single arrest. We need to pray until something happens. We cannot be children of God, yet things get this bad and we can't get our Father in heaven to arise and intervene. It's time to pray! It must end this year. Let us all pray like never before because the power of darkness can never prevail over the body of Christ.
