Krissy01: hi guys I need advice I'm already in a bleeped up situation and I don't know what to do so I need some advice. so I moved to the Netherlands for my bachelor's degree in marketing I've been here for 1yrs and some months now and with the naira rate I've been unable to pay my tuition for some months now plus I couldn't take my exams because I was de-registered. now my school told IND(the immigration ) about my situation and I'm being asked to leave the Netherlands. so all my resources from the beginning is just gone plus I didn't even get the degree I initially came for.im not ready to move back home especially now that things are getting worse. I'm just really sad right now and don't know what to do. I need help 😭 Hopefully you were able to deal with this right? U didn’t come back home |

pansophist: Yes, its called zoekjaar (search year). Most students search but won't find any, and they go back home, or they leave the country to somewhere else.
And yes, it's very expensive to study in the Netherlands. If I see international students paying heavily to study here, especially Africans, I just know they are forking wealthy.
Even Dutch citizens won't be able to afford to study if not for government support. Dutch and EU citizens pay a statutory tuition fee that is different from international students, about 2k annually. International students pay 10k upward.
And for Dutch students who can't pay, the government pays it for them. If not, most won't be able to study. It is a very expensive place. I’ve been seeing more people going there to study and not coming back is finding a good job there really this hard even in 2026? What if you work in tech |

ifemaco: Please does anyone know what one should expect during the interview itself? Like questions asked and if there are any special requirements to be aware of? Also, does anyone have a template for the Written Commitment to leave Switzerland after studies and Written Statement with Student’s Intention at the End of the Studies documentation? Would really appreciate.
Lastly, does anyone have experience on how long canton Neuchátel takes to give their decision after ones documents have been forwarded to them after the interview. I heard Swiss now ask for blocked account is this true? |

Bobkem: Ablekelsy01 : 1. After the interview online and all the video sent. I was offered employment letter which I print out and sign and scan back and send. With this document and others requirements it was was used to apply for residential permit. So to answer that question it did not come at the same time. Offer letter first and after 3weeks residential permit which all the two documents and others requirements you will now use to apply for visa-mvv. Second question which is almost answer the third question: I applied at Ghana royal Dutch embassy. With God is good mottos you will land at Accra Ghana. So I did not go to Benin republic. Hope I answered you questions. Oh I forgot: is not sponsorship visa. Because the company made it clear during the time of the interview that I will bear the cost of my flight fare but the residential permit application was paid by the company. Although in the offer letter accommodation, feeding at break time and transportation to and fro is provided by the company I want to apply for jobs of Netherlands too Were and how did you get a job offer I’m in the tech route if you can put me on or help me out thank you |

Lovebeam: Good day, everyone I'm so distressed right now, and any clarity I could get will go a long way.
My profile Education: Bsc Physiology(Second Class upper) Age: Currently 25, turning 26 in a few months. Financial capacity in view: let's say about 25 million naira, I can work for more, God willing.
I want to consider the study pathway to Australia.
I've made a series of research, and I think I'm going insane at this point🥲🥹
1. I want an affordable university where I can study an allied health program(this decision is for long term purpose), good course recommendations will be highly appreciated 🙏 I researched on Occupational Therapy, and speech pathology, and they seem to be a really competitive course. I'm not sure of the prospects. Psychotherapy has. 2. I don't have families that are well to do for them to stand as my sponsor as I myself do not have 75 million naira(I saw in this thread) in my account to show as proof of funds, but my dad's childhood friend has offered to stand in as my sponsor, but how do I proof relationship?🥲 3. I think I want to study at a regional university to help me claim points during the PR application, which universities can you people please recommend?(I know that this answer is vague, I'm in so much distress🥹)
4. Does anyone think my 25 million naira budget can pay my tuition deposit +OSHC+Visa fee+bio metric+medicals? I can look around for the travel expenses if my visa gets approved, I pray so.
I don't even know what I'm asking anymore😔
I should note that I tried applying for studies in Europe last year but got refused, its not a rejection as my school deferred my admission until this year September, so the immigration deemed it as incomplete application, closed it temporarily to continue when I apply for this intake, I do not plan on reapplying as I can not provide internship documents as the reason my application was not considered. There's no visa rejection in my history.
Please, just advise me as your own and direct me 🙏🙏 Same case as me physiology too I have done research to the extent it’s like I’m running crazy |

Prettyprecious2: I've a bachelor degree in Education/French. Thank you. I wrote in my SOP that i am already involved in teaching (Education/French), I am not looking for only theoretical knowledge but also structured exposure to real childcare environments. Seneca’s emphasis on observation, curriculum planning, and child development aligns directly with the skills I need to become an effective early childhood educator. While my diploma in early childhood Education in seneca deals with hands-on training that will allow me to gain practical experience while working with young children in professional educational settings. I linked my Bachelor’s degree and the diploma together. Thank you I have been doing my research on schools in Canada and I heard convincing visa officers is a hurdle thanks for your reply How much did you show for POF |

Pgree: Hi guys, please I will be studying at NHL Stenden this September and the school just sent me a mail yesterday that my study visa has been approved. So I will be picking up the MVV sticker in Ghana.
A family friend booked an appointment for me on the 28th of Auguat but I have to be in the NL waaay before that date. I have sent a mail to acc-ca@minbuza.nl telling them about my situation and called them too but they instructed me to send a mail instead.
Please, my question is, can one go to the Royal Dutch Embassy in Accra, Ghana without an appointment, and if not, please share your experiences and things required (esp the 35 by 45mm passport requirement) at the embassy.
Thank you. How much is their tuition there |

Pandatown: Update after receiving my study permit approval (check my post history for approval testimony)
I arrived 27th December at Toronto Pearson Airport with my TRV to collect my study permit document at CBSA Checkpoint
Documents CBSA asked me to show them:
+ Letter Of Introduction + Letter of Acceptance from my college + PAL letter used in getting the study permit approval + Full Tuition payment of first semester receipt & deposit receipt from offer + Enrolment schedule of class for my Winter intake
Questions I was asked by CBSA after giving them the documents they requested above:
CBSA: You only paid first semester? Me: Yes my college only allows us to per for a full semester at a given time CBSA: Okay. Have you been refused study permit before to Canada? Me: Yes I was the first time CBSA: Why were you refused? Me: I didn't properly show the source of funds for my financial documents CBSA: Who is supporting your studies in Canada? Me: My sister is my sponsor CBSA: Where does your sister live? Me: The US CBSA: How long has she been there and what's her status? Me: She has been there since X year and she is a green card holder CBSA: What's her occupation and how much did she give you for your studies in Canada? Me: She is X occupation and she gave me 45 million naira for tuition and living expenses CBSA: How much is that in CAD Me: About 40,000 CAD at the time of my application CBSA: Have you been to Canada before? Me: No this is my first time CBSA: Do you have any family members in Canada Me: No I don't have any family members in Canada CBSA: Have you travelled to other countries for long term stay before? Me: Yes I studied in Cyprus CBSA: What did you study there? Me: Medicine CBSA: That's good. Why did you decide to pursue Biotechnology in Canada then? Me: I decided I want to go into clinical diagnostics and Pharma in Nigeria after completing my studies in Canada CBSA: Okay. This passport has a lot of pages is this the new Nigerian passport? Me: Yes the new ones valid for 10 years have many pages than the old ones they used to issue CBSA: Okay wait here for a moment CBSA: Here is your study permit read the conditions and confirm your name and birth date. Check your permit expiry date. If you need to extended your study permit do so two months in advance before expiry. Let me know if you have any questions. Me: Okay I have read it and all is accurate and I don't have questions. CBSA: Alright let me stamp your passport and you can be on your way
This is the most grilling experience I have had for a visa haha. Funny thing is the two Asian students in front of me they didn't ask any of them any questions and they just handed them their study permit after seeing their acceptance letter pal and intro letter only.
Hope this can guide anyone that is approved for study on what to bring and questions CBSA may ask you. Good luck. Good morning from your post I noticed you said you studied medicine and you’re now going for biotechnology (is it diploma?) I wanted to ask if you stated it in your SOP that you studied medicine before because I studied physiology liked working with machines during my internship so I feel in love with the technology aspect and I’m interested in Instrumentation and Control Engineering Technology Or Biomedical Engineering Technology I was actually interested in this two But I dont know if it will make sense to the visa officers I can’t really even go for MSc because my BSc is 2:2 what do you think Doesn’t make sense? |

MRtristan: To the best of my knowledge, I won’t advice you to go for an IT course except if you’ve worked in the IT field after graduation, personally, what I would do is apply for a bio chem related course, then when i get to Canada, i can change to an IT course.
Secondly, post secondary courses are a no for me, even the VO would have a hard time understanding why you are going for it. Apply for the post graduate certificate or diploma, its really not that difficult to get. What do you think about moving from physiology to electrical instrumentation and controls diploma course |
