Smart. There’s already a cash reward system built in anytime someone catches the OLE. But I’m even thinking along the lines of real money bounties…

gammarays:
Madams na big woman nah, her bag is stolen by ole, she gives a reward(bounty) to anyone who catches the thief and retrieves her bag.
There are several versions of this. Some bags only have makeup kits or things of no value no bounty. Bags with valuables inside gets bounty reward.

The game is available for any one any where in the world to play.. Play it here: https://ole.classes.ng

Spreadlove8888:
What about those that are not in Nigeria, how can they participate in the game?

We’re exploring various ideas and approaches like sponsored airtime giveaways and real money challenges - where players get to stake real money. Please elaborate on what you mean by bounty system..

gammarays:
Good stuff
How do you generate revenue for the rewards and how do you plan to sustain it over time?
A bounty system will be fine!

Thanks. We're working on more upgrades and updates. Also a partnership with Lagos Life to have it played inside the Lagos Life game this week...

Silentgroper:
Makes sense .. a temple run initiative..

From Lagos life to this ..

Make sense .. Nigerians should play this for a while .. if you want longevity , include more upgrades..

Thank you. We are still dropping more updates and upgrades in the coming weeks...

Saw this on twitter and I've been playing it since last week. It's so beautiful and so well made! Big ups!

Good day, Nairalanders.

I’m a Nigerian developer, and I spent the last few weeks building a game I wish existed when I was younger. It’s called OLE! Catch the Thief.

The story is simple. Gbera has just snatched a madam’s bag at Oshodi bus stop. You’re the small boy who decides to chase him. You run through Lagos traffic, jump over danfos, slide under barriers, dodge agberos, and pick up the money falling from the bag. If you get close enough, you throw a block at him. Every run is different, and Gbera doesn’t make it easy.

Why I think you’ll like it:

- It’s 100% Lagos: danfo, BRT, okada, keke, the long Dangote truck, Lagos bus stops, LASTMA, and the noise of Lagos (OLE FM radio plays while you run).
- Two roads: Oshodi to Abule Egba, and Lekki to Badore through the toll gate.
- Nothing to download. It opens in your phone’s browser and works on cheap Android phones too. There’s a “Cool mode” if your phone gets hot.
- Free airtime every night. Play 5 runs in a day and you’re in the free airtime draw. Hit the day’s target in one run and you get 3 times the chance.
- Dare your friends. After a good run, send a dare on WhatsApp. Your friend plays the exact same road (same traffic, same money in the same places) and you see who packed more.
- Invite friends: you get ₦100 airtime for every friend who comes to play.

Over 4,800 people have played so far, and some come back every single day to try to catch Gbera. Very few have done it.

I’m still improving it every week, so I’d really like your honest opinion. What did you like? What annoyed you? What’s your best score? Drop it below. If you catch Gbera, post a screenshot. I’d like to see who’s the best runner on Nairaland.

Oya, chase am! 🏃🏾💨
