Can someone help with the answer to this interview question

"why choose a career in banking", especially for someone who studied an engineering course
Truly, looking at the Traditional Banking industry one may say an Engineer doesn't fit into it... That was when paper works were the main thing and people must come to the banking environments for transactions.
But the today and the Tomorrow World, things have changed due to the advent and improvement of the technology world, Banking Industry needs more of the science oriented Minds to run it set up in order to meet up with changing technological world...
For example, Mobile phones has almost solved the problem of customers coming close to banking environs, they buy things in the comfort of there homes, send people money without deposit slip..... Those are few role in which the engineering world has helped the Banking sector... So me coming to the bank would definitely be an added advantage to the bank because am so familiar with many software packages in the tech world, it's the financial background that I need to improve myself on.
That's just a perspective
Other improvement from the tech world to the Banking industry
1. Fintech
2. Social Media and how you can influence people to patronize the Bank
3. ATM machine or other payment platform
4. The Banking Apps
And so on
That's what you can use to convince anyone, remember you might not complete all this speech before they would redirect another question....

I just got an email for panel interview on saturday, i need all the tips i can get please from those who have scale through the stage.
Thanks in anticipation.
Panel interview, Just as interesting as you could imagine...
There were 4 people when I did mine comprise 2 male and female...
Tips:
1. Nail your introduction very well, they are checking CV word for word as you introduce yourself, so make sure your are giving a proper and correct information when introducing yourself.
I met a guy at the TMI level and we spoke about the panel level and he told me he was so fortunate that after introducing himself. So make sure your introduction is so on point and funnily it depends on the set of people that makes up your panel.
Some people would only appreciate your introduction if you have gathered alot of Certificate, some go for alot of experience and so on.
Once you say something that entices them, they would most likely stop you there and continue other questions

2. Make sure you don't leave that place without impressing at least two among the panelist, like I always advice work on the ladies who are among the panelist or the most interesting personality among them...
How do you know the most interesting personality, the one that is asking most of the questions and the one documenting most of your comments.

3. Know the rule of a Panel interview
You must know that you are expected to communicate with all of them, although you might want to make eye contact with the most with the person that asked a particular question

4. Most panel interview usually require you to have an argumentative perspective on every thing been asked.
You know how arguments are, after trying to convince one person before you know another person would just look for a loophole from what you say last to break you down but people who know how to argue will still speak... You know this things

5. There are some basic things you should learn about Access Bank, although you would be taught at the entrance if it's the HQ...
like the Vision, mission statement, Core values, there history, management, Financial Set up if you are Accountant etc there set up... Read that up with Google and on there website

6. Last but not the least, Optional but very helpful...
Try to know there names and there units when they are introducing themselves to you...
-It shows how smart you could be
-it shows how fast a learner you could be
- it improves communication between them and you
If you can't, it doesn't matter because most of the time when they are introducing themselves, your just stepping in and may be tensed...

Be Yourself, and enjoy it... This is just Panel Interview...
Look good and keep a smiling face even when you are angry about the kind of questions you are being asked..
This is just my own little advice to you, not final though...

I said I was going to do this a very long time ago but kept procastinating . For those that will get to Training School(TS), congrats in anticipation. Yes, it is so true that it is not easy but the moment you doubt yourself one bit, u will eventually get kicked out. Yes, u will have the very brainy ones from several African countries, Master degree holders from Ivy League schools, you will also find colleagues in TS chartered in highly reputable qualifications (ICAAN etc), you will find ppl with work experience then u look at urself with just the humble B.Sc u struggled to bag. Let me tell u one thing, there is no competition, see these ppl with all those achievements as an opportunity to mingle and become a better and more exposed person(funny enough, they don't always happen to top the class with all those extras) . From the onset, don't look down on anyone cos u never can ever tell what is within.
U will be challenged, u will be pushed to the wall, if care is not taken u might choose to drop out on ur own but if u persevere, u will see that it is worth it. Never for once give in to the pressure or stress. TS Was The most challenging moment of my life but the most valuable cos it made me a better and more confident person. I felt super smart, stupid and like a dummy at some point in TS.
In TS, the maximum number of courses you are allowed to fail is just 4(and u must rewrite them and pass all) and the pass mark is 65. You must offer about fourty sth courses including Four accounting courses of ICAN standard (many trainees dreaded accounting but the fear alone not actually failure took them out) I have never been good with calculations but I swore to give accounting my best shot, I fought through with all I got, I humbled myself to beg anyone that cares to teach me. That is why u don't have to look down on anyone or be egoistic. I topped my class in some courses but the failures made me forget that I was once good and once performed well in some courses, I failed four courses and I knew that another failure will see me out. I cried most times in class and experienced my first stage of depression but my saviour was the willingness to finish, God and the very good friends I made(u don't have time for fake frnds in TS, trust me) .
Y'all might not have same experience as I did but no matter how challenging it gets, never ever lose hope, believe strongly in urself, make good friends, Pls and pls speak up when u're getting frustrated, learn to talk to someone. Be open minded, love and savor every moment, be a fighter.
TS is fun, your Facilitators are very experienced, internationally trained and highly sort after professionals. They are good hearted and willing to listen, don't be afraid to ask questions in class no matter how stupid (they are HEAVILY paid to make sure u understand). Don't forget to have fun to ease off tension .
Forgive my typos, If any, I stole out time to type this epistle and refused to proofread cos today is a busy day for me.
I look forward to seeing you all inducted to the Access family, it is fun here and worth it.
Not everyone had a resit or failed a course, many ppl found it so smooth, so don't let this write-up discourage you but pick the few necessary points and remember there are mouth watering prizes for the best in each course and best overall.
If I can do it, anyone else can.
NB: I'm not sure of the email I registered this account with. Feel free to bug me with any question here
It seems you currently in the training School, when are you people rounding up and when is the next batch of people most likely to come into the training School

Pdp signed saraki (morata) while apc signed akapbio (messi.)

Akwa ibom is nigeria oil giant they re only two money bag in pdp rivers and akwa ibom and apc just snatched one away .
So there's no Oil Money in Delta State and Bayelsa...
I think we should just be ready for more drama but for now Buhari or Buhari-led Government is really the problem of Nigeria nothing else...
NB: The fight against Buhari is actually on by both The Elites and the Masses...
God bless Nigeria, we can't even imagine a second term of Buhari knowing full well that no Government ever perform better than his first tenure....
Just Imagine Buhari till 2023, ha Nigerians help yourself.
PoliticsRe: They Claim APC Is Dead In Rivers State. Pure Lies. Check This Out by OsasAca1(m): 12:11am On Jul 31, 2018
Set the record straight, Bubu has never won any state in South South or South East... The best he can do is to make up the 25% in atleast two of them which would be Edo State and Probably Imo.
Rivers State would be a very big task for amechi to deliver for APC knowing fully well that
1. The Structure of the PDP is has solid as Rock, a former State PDP chairman rose to a position of a National Chairman.
Amechi would be booted out by this guys again again, Rivers State is so ready for anything called bloody. Mark my word, Amechi would be booted out again again.

2. The State finances most of the activities in the PDP with support from Delta and other SS States definitely would be the biggest mistake of the PDP to allow River go like that...
Just imagine, PDP saying they want to collect Lagos State... Or PDP bragging they would be Buhari in the Northeast of Nigeria..... That's not fair na.
It's only fair and logical for you to leave one or two states for them except if you want to turn Nigeria to a Party System.
And to make it more complicated for the APC, the said Man is working even the VP called him Mr Project.

3. The way people of that states view the APC and Buhari-led is actually not encouraging, even me personally had to try and convince some one one day in Eleme and he made a very funny scenario that even crops don't go well during Buhari regime and he showed me his Farm and by coincidence it was true

4. Don't be deceived about the little APC has gather especially for the Senatorial position, it's a matter of fact that APC and Buhari-led government hardly lose stand-alone elections
The two senators:
Magnus Abe of APC VS Senator Olaka in a senatorial district that included three main tribe :Ogoni people - 6 LGA, Eleme People - one lGA and OYigbo - 1 local government
Magnus Abe was so favoured because, is from Bera community of Gokana LGA neighbour to the headquarters of Ogoni Land, Bori - Khana LGa and he was a commissioner under Amechi govt under the PDP before defecting to get his senatorial position.
Moreover, information had flown then that the APC government was already planning a programme foe the Ogoni Land which was the Ogoni Clean up project and Wike had always not being favoured in Ogoni land, I don't know of now but the only project the Mr Project had done for Ogoni people Was The expansion of express way he did from Sagama -Tai local government to Bori - LGA and also The fight of renaming and eventual relocation of the Rivers State Polytechnic to Ken Saro Wiwa Polytechnic and how he treated there own person Peterside during the last election.

Uchendu won from a Court decision, which is still one of the shocking results against a Man that is referred to as the Lion of Rivers State - Senator Sekibo...
I know you want to ask who is Sekibo, he is from Ogu/Bolo Local Govt, a small and the most beautiful place in Rivers State... That local govt has houses flooded by almost all the politicians of Nigeria, alot massive structures maybe they are reserving that place for the future. The LGA is the home town of Pastor David Ibiyeomie who is the no 1 enemy of Amechi and also the LGA is a neighboring LGA to Okirika LGa, patience Jonathan LGA.
I even heard they negotiated for both senators because they were no space for them in the federal after defecting with Amechi like others did
So don't even disturb yourself with all you saw during the 2016 rerun because we knew what the Military did even for Abe to win.

5. Lastly, and very importantly, the IKWERRE people had always produced Governors in that states against other core tribe like Ogoni, Calabiri, Eleme
With what I heard, the Ikwerre people usually settle for one candidate as quickly as possible while other tribe especially the Ogoni people who has the Oil, always have dispute against themselves for example Magnus Abe wants to become Governor under the platform of the APC who is there strongest and only viable candidate that can match WIKE but his currently being faced with a stiff competition by Amechi Candidate Peterside, who is also from Ogoni Land... At the end of the day they would end it in bitterness and it would eventually weaken them because one would definitely be aggrieved but for the PDP now they would just work for Wike so that they can get the ticket for next time.
To me and I also stand to be corrected, if APC want Rivers State as they claim let the field My Man, magnus Abe, the Lionel Messi of Rivers State otherwise they would lose woefully.

Although, anything is so possible ooo, just the way I view things here in Rivers State. My problem is not really the states

PoliticsRe: Pdp's Quest To Divide Northern Votes May Result In A Southern Surprise From Apc by OsasAca1(m): 3:42pm On Jul 19, 2018
senatordave1:
On the runup to the 2019 polls, pdp are engrossed in looking for a candidate or tactics that may divide buhari's northern votes.this has made them to neglect their southern strongholds and flanks allowing apc to penetrate them deeply.none of those vying for the party's ticket can even win their states.the only northerners that have a chance of shocking buhari is the sultan and the emir of kano.yaradua the only northerner that defeated buhari had more electoral advantages than buhari.no other candidate has that now.the mass following buhari had wasnt cultivated in a day but years.atiku, tambuwal, saraki, dankwambo ars only popular among the elites.
Apc is currently stronger in the south than pdp in the north.apc controls 8 sourhern states while pdp controls 2 northern states barring the defections of sokoto, kwara and benue governors.apc have a foothold in all the southeast and south south states.even bayelsa and enugu where there are weak, they are still strong as compared to pdp in buchi, borno or yobe.buhari will likely get a significant proportion of southern votes.
Rivers:pdp will win rivers as usual but not with their usual margin.i see apc getting up to 300,000 votes in rivers mainly from rivers south east district controlled by senator abe.the combo of amaechi/abe/amachree may floor wike.many of those that rig for pdp in rivers have been detained or now in apc.
Cross river:the govetnor is pdp but pro buhari and will not campaign against buhari but focus on his reelection.the senator representing central cross river is now in apc and very popular.he will deliver that zone to apc.i see buhari getting up to 100k votes.most of tge bigwigs in the state are in apc.
Delta:the presence of ogboru in apc plus senator agege will give buhari a lot of urhobo votes.emami will deliver warri votes with apc making sure anioma, ijaw and isoko votes are not inflated.i see apc getting close to 300k votes here with pdp not getting more than a million.
Edo: with adams as chairman,i see apc winning here outrightly or narrowly.apc votes in edo north will be inflated, pdp will win the central dominated by the ishans with apc narrowly winning the south.i see apc getting 300k with pdp 200k.
Akwa ibom:many bigwigs here that usually delivered for pdp are now in apc.the alliance of nsim aekere/umanah will give pdp a headache.udom is friendly with buhari and will not campaign much against him.the oron people of akwa ibom south are pro apc plus a lot of ibibios.i see buhari polling over 200,000 with pdp polling 800,000.
Bayelsa:this is where apc are most weakest in bayelsa but may pull a shocker with seriake's lukewarm attitude.i see timipre inflating his brass lga figure tk give apc at least 20k votes with pdp not getting above 200,000.

Imo: apc will win or lose imo narrowly.rochas is a fighter and plus his senatorial bid,he will match pdp toe to toe.whoever wins will not do so with more than 100,000 votes with apc guaranteed of getting 25%.
Anambra:obiano is comfortable to apc and averse to pdp.apga may field a candidate to reduce pdp votes.i see buhari polling over 100k with pdp struggling to get 300,000
Abia:alex otti will ally with apc and give buhari close to 100,000 votes with pdp not getting more than 300k.
Ebonyi:umahi is pro buhari and will subtle campaign for him.i see apc getting more than 50k votes here with pdp still winning.
In summary, apc may get up to 1.5 million votes in ss and over 500,000 in south east.buhari will win the west narrowly.i see him getting up to 22 millon with pdp getting close to 14 million.up apc
I don't like to comment on anything that involve Buhari and APC because people like you are celebrating when we supposed to be worried...
Nigeria needs a radical and vibrant leader who would be more considerate about all that affect the well-being of his Citizens... You can't possibly be in your right mindframe and be thinking of a victory for Man whose Governance has been criticized by majority of the people...
Goodluck Jonathan was by far one of the worse nightmare for Nigeria and we voted him out, by the special Grace of God, Nigeria would vote this Man out...
Your calculations might be logical to you but remember only God knows tomorrow.

Please i will appreciate if someone can help clarify the following for me

1. What is the prospect after training school? Is posting to marketing role dependent on your performance? How about posting someone outside Lagos state is it also based on performance? Or based on individual personalities, preferences, or skills?

2. What roles or departments are available in a bank that one can be posted to except marketing? and like above is it dependent on skill or performance?

3. Is bond signing before or after training school?

Thanks for your expected help.
To the best of my findings and Knowledge and please I stand to be corrected
1. Trainee would be broken into various classes out which the best two in each classes would be given an opportunity to work in the Headquarters at Lagos there while others would have to select the State of there choice
The beauty of the HQ is that you would be given an opportunity to select a department that would suit you except for exceptional cases like the being the Best Graduating would usually get Treasury department or maybe no space..
But for others who would have selected there preferred state, most of them would basically be marketers or maybe larger percentage

2. There are many departments in the Bank but could only get to see all fully operational when you are working at the Hq... For Branch basically Marketers and Operations
Some others include HR, Corporate Communication, Fintech, Strategy, Transition Unit, internal control, Treasury, investment etc

3. Bond Signing, based on the current set, it's before the training School.

Don't get bored and angry with the process, just know that you are through already... Training school preparation would follow suit after all this and get prepare for it because as they it's the most difficult in Nigeria Banking Industry.
