Hello guys please i need sincere advice on this issue. I am a Hr officer with an outsourcing firm and my annual net pay is 1500000. I was invited for an interview by hr recruitment firm and i was asked my expected renumeration thats how much i will like to earn. I said 3000000 net per annual. They did not negotiate it with me but told me that they cant afford it. I got their response through mail. Did i rate myself so high and in future what do you think i should fill as expected amount

Hi ,I read your post and felt tempted to reply.
Firstly, you have done no wrong quoting an amount..That is why it is called expected amount...
I have had the opportunity to recruit for some firms in the past and we have not disqualified anyone based on salary expectation,instead it is based on your current salary .What most company are concerned about is your current earning and if they are ready to pay a little/or far above that they will invite you for a second stage and properly make you know how much they can offer.(salaries are negotiable) especially when you are best fit for the job.

My conclusion is that i think you were not the best candidate at the interview and it was a strategy to disqualify you for the next stage.

You can still get employers that will pay you far above what you earn but my advise is to always give an amount and put in bracket (Negotiable)

Yes ....seperate them ,so it becomes easy to identify your key competence.

Key skills, key accomplishments, key competencies and professional experience in writing CV.

It is self explanatory .A standard CV should contain all the mentions.
Your key skills (e.g people management)should come after your career objective on your CV.
You accomplishments can also be listed in your CV after skills,key competence(must be related to the job you are applying for) e.g design chart of account(For accounting professional) can come after trainings and seminars attended while professional experience is your duties and responsibilities were your worked and currently work.

Gross pay-(200,000/12+20% of Gross pay)
50,000-(16,667+20%*50,000)
Figure me.

I am sure the N50k is monthly.
This is what you need to do first.
Take your monthly pay to yearly (N50kX12)=600k

Secondly,here is the new tax rating
(1)First 300k @ 7%
(2) Second 300k @11%
Then deduct consolidated relief Allowance from what you get from the addition of 1and 2 above
And finally divide your answer by 12 months ,you will arrive at your monthly PAYE.

But this is applicable where there is no NHIS and pension.(if there is,deduct the amount from your gross income of N600k before you apply 1 and 2 above.

I am currently on transit ,'i would have sent you an example file of assets coding in excel i did for a company.

Example of Typical and Easy codes of asset for Emmanuel Engineering Ltd.


When coding ,start with company's name .e.g EE for( Emmanuel Engineering)
Then the asset category e.g MV for ( Motor Vehicle )
You may not need branch or dept code for small firms with just one branch.

Coding ...... EE/MV/001

Then if you have more than one vehicle ,the number will continue e,.g EE/MV/002

Same applies to the rest assets.
Please it also important to note that you can not start coding of assets WITHOUT doing physical asset verification. You MUST see and confirm that all the assets are still useful to the company.

You can also use the asset category abdication.. E.g Furniture and Fittings could be coded FF, plant and machinery could be coded PM....This makes your job easier when doing referencing. I will also advise that if your company does not have too many branches ,you may not need to include branch code. Too many codes is not advisable.

you may decide to code physical and also on the system.
Physical coding is when you write the code on the asset and it becomes visible and permanent .

On the other hand you can decide to generate codes on the system alone by attaching a unique code to each of the asset just to know the number of assets and their categories.

Yes to the first two. For the third question, apart from the VAT on your purchases or services as may be demanded by your clients or service providers, your company is taxed on its net income. I think 4 has been answered in the answers provided for question 3 above. For question 5, get to the Board of internal revenue of the state you are; you will be directed accordingly.

You may want to know more about VAT and company tax from google.

Why would a sole proprietor pay tax for the year which he did not operate

Tax are subject to VAT,PAYE,CIT, and noon is payable when you don't operate except arrears .

Just purchase the CD..I think you can get it for about 5 to 10k and run it on your system.

OP, let me help you out.You are not totally correct when you say it is lack of advert that faded them away.
This is an industry I know very well.
These are some of the reasons they faded away.
1. Poor product
2. All the fast food produce similar product without introduction of new products
3. If you look at the fast food that are still functioning well today you would notice they have one or more special products you can't get in other fast food. KFC chicken,Tastees Aficana etc.
4. SME spring up,lots of people especially women are beginning to be entrepreneur ,which means they have more time to cook at home even if it is once a week.
5. Banking ,the mass retrenchment and restructuring of bankers salaries has reduced the bankers purchasing power.They used to me one of the highest partronisers of the fast food.
6. High cost of products,if you remember in the past you could get a pate of food at the fast food and drink for N500 but now you need an average of N1200 to get same.(Meanwhile you can get a good meal from mama put for N500 now)

I can go and on but for the purpose of this discuss let me stop here.

it depends on the unit you are recruited into. outlet managers earn more than store and other back office staff. While management staff .I.e administrative staff(head office) earns much more.
