Thanks guys, spoke with my vet concerning the ear, he claims cropping the ear now might cause a lot of bleeding, and I will have to nurse the wound for days if not weeks. Already considering leaving the ear by the way.
Mixed the dry food with the can food as advised, but the moment he sniffs the food and smell the dry food, he just walks away leaving the food. So tired, I wish I could just drop him is food and he eats right away, it's so exhausting. |

@IamAnderson just got my cauc delivered to me two days back with the ear not cropped, he is exactly 8weeks old now. Just wondering if the ear can still be cropped at that age.
Secondly, the dog just would not eat, I got him booster dry and canned food by the way. Is there any tips you can give to help with this? PS: I always soak the dry booster puppy food in water before serving him. |

Gabrokpara001: It requires keen observation and dedication...now I got him at just two weeks old...he was pooing and peeing everywhere...at 4weeks I decided I had had enough so whenever he starts sniffing the floor to poo/pee I make a sssh sound quickly pick him up and take him to a particular spot...we continued for days until I started noticing he didn't sniff the floor anymore rather he walks to the door.( I kept him closer to the door) and starts whining that was when I knew I had successfully trained him...now that's he is a bit older he runs to the door very fast and may even fall anyone that blocks his path lol , he scratches the door and barks telling me " Oya oooo" lol Amazing! Will be taking delivery of my Caucasian Shepherd pup in a matter of weeks, waiting for easing of the current inter-state movement restriction, and I have seen many obedience training videos on you tube already . The joy of having a well trained/behaved dog knows no bound. |

Gabrokpara001: He doesn't. I potty trained him at 4weeks old... whenever he needs to do his business he quickly rushes to the door, sits and start scratching it signaling me Would love to know how you potty trained him at 4weeks old, just curious. |

You are wrong sir! From data given by CNN, well over 200000 patients have been discharged from hospitals across the world, these were patients that had tested positive and brought in for treatments, and then recovered. horlarlorwor: Apology to say these.
Nigeria, are you truly treating COVID-19 or you guys are Malaria?
News from affected countries have not treated any of their patient successfully. Is either they died or under critical condition. Most affected countries still claims of NO VACCINE. How come Nigeria covid 19 patients who were positive were negative again under 7 days. Its seems something is not right. Or will I say patient are diagnosed with 'positive' Malaria.
The likes of Abba Kyari, the real Carrier of the virus is yet to recover from it. Let these doctors treat Kyari same way other patient that tested negative after 7 days.
Please don't quote me wrong. I am not saying the virus is not in Nigeria but I think something is wrong somewhere. If I may ask; 1) what VACCINE did our doctors use to treat the patient. 2) Let the government assist other affected countries with our doctors to show them the way out. Either by sending the doctors to their country or the drug they used to cure the virus. 3) Let the affected countries send in their doctors with 5 each patient to our country for treatment.
This will ascertain our doubting Thomas that the corona virus in Nigeria is truly defeated. |

Bro you have got to be specific, were the three items sold by different sellers? If yes, then obviously you have got to pay shipment fee for each of the items as some of this items sold by third parties are not even in custody of konga.
I recently bought about 5 different items - all sold by konga, and guess what, I was only charged N1000 as shipment fee. |

xfire: Your write-up is not long. I am happy that you have not allowed your grade to deter you from pushing for success. The fact remains that those that succeed are those that see the obstacles but forge ahead nonetheless. Can you name some of the trainings? My own advice is to get some experience as then go for Masters in Mechanical Engineering (Maintenance and Asset Management Option). This is particularly important as you have a Second Class Lower degree. Save the ‘a lot’ for Masters instead. Believe me, on-the-job experience (even as a maintenance technician) spiced up with a Masters degree (especially if it is foreign) will be more beneficial. Once you get your Masters, you can now begin to target professional trainings and certifications. You may even have funds at your disposal then to go abroad for trainings and short courses. Also join professional bodies – NSE, ASME, etc. In the meantime, while you are saving money and gaining experience, keep hunting for a better job that will provide more relevant experience and cash.
Cheers…. Thanks a bunch, I really appreciate this. The trainings are maintenance engineering inclined - preventive and predictive maintenance and as well as maintenance planning and scheduling; they are topics I've started studying on my own though all thanks to the great textbooks I was able to lay my hands on. I will do just has you adviced. Again, I say a big thank you. |

xfire: Sending resumes to HR email addresses is one of the several ways of job hunting. In some cases, it does not yield the desired result but you may be lucky to get one or two invites for interview. A few people have testified here that they got their jobs through unsolicited applications. On a personal level, I know someone that was called for interview 8-9 months after he sent his resume + cover letter to an HR email address he saw online, though he didn't later get the job. A friend of mine recently got called for an interview via unsolicited mail to an email address posted online. He is most likely going to get the job. Sad truth is that you may not get a lot of response or feedback from the recipients, but one or two may respond, and may even go further to call you for interview. Explore such opportunities. Afterall, what you need is a good job. It's better to send the mails than to sit at home doing nothing.
Cheers... I have been an avid follower of this thread since its inception and I must confess that xfire, Bigdreams, Darellrivers, TheRealAdonye and other notable contributors have touched lives in unimaginable ways. I have read well crafted opinions cum professional advice you people chun out on this thread every now and then and I think I need one those right now. I'm a graduate of Mechanical engineering, though I finished with a CGPA of 3.29/5, I have never for once allowed my finishing with a 2.2 detter me from pursuing my dream of becoming a true professional in a not too distant future. The journey hasn't been smooth though as I have had to settle for a maintenance technician job in a rather small FMCG company for the time being. Though I get paid a very small salary, one thing the job has helped me to discover is the line of Mechanical engineering I would really love to pursue a career - Plant Maintenance and asset management with a a great desire to get certified as Reliability engineer someday. My concern right now is my job responsibility as it only requires me to work as a technician meaning I don't get to carry out the maintenance functions of a maintenance engineer viz planning, designing, scheduling and monitoring of preventive and predictive maintenance programs, hence I feel the need for me to pursue professional trainings. But the only trainings available are administered online, so do you think potential employers would fancy such trainings as I would be spending a lot to undertake them, or I should just wait till a job opportunity where I would fully work in the capacity of a maintenance engineer presents itself and then learn through the ropes? Thanks for your time, your opinions and advice would be really appreciated. NB: Apologies for the long write up, just really feel I need to come out clear enough. |

Feex: I think a postgraaduate degree will be more useful to you. Since your current job deals with maintenance activity which is your career path of interest, I will advise that you do it for a while to gain some experience, even though you are technician before actually pursuing a masters degree. A professional course may not be of much help right now. What you need is either experience or a postgraduate degree if no suitable job is forthcoming. A professional certification can only cap it off. Thanks for your timely response. I will continue with the job for a little longer while also looking out for better offers. I'm definitely going to go for my masters degree someday, but I just feel experience outweighs it. Could you please be a mentor, I know you're also an engineer. |

Feex: Hmmm...good list. I think nitrogen, tiimmy, bigdreams, olutola88 and my humble self should have been acknowledged at the barest minimum. I also feel dmainman should have been in the Top 10 list ahead of some others in the list. Champella, do edit your list to include him and knock off one person to the acknowledgement note. Yamakuza was also a great contributor and should have been included in the top 10 if not for the fact that he doesn't comment as much again. He should be acknowledged at least. But list is abt 90% accurate. Special kudos to xfire, Jarus, imag5 and dmainman. Mr. Feex please I need your advice! [quote author=Feex]I currently work in the food and beverages industry. I earn a decent income though won't mind to earn more. I have always dreamt of moving to the oil industry but I am a bot weary of job security. I think that oil and gas industry is cyclical. When oil prices are high, many jobs are created but when oil prices are low, thousands of jobs are lost and oil firms start embarking on job losses. Though high oil prices have been sustained for quite a well.
Though I will like to move, I won
